we beat pitt in there house (w/o ben) the bucs got lit up in there house by the same team.

Oddly enough they seem to be better on the road. I am pretty sure the only road game they have lost this year was against us.

The Bucs are over-achievers that will need you to turn the ball over to help them stay in the game. Freeman is the real deal but I really don't think Morris is the solution at head coach longterm. In fact, I am betting that this season will keep him around longer than he should. Good for Falcons though.

The only way this turns into a nail-biter is if you help them.

Ravens 27, Bucs 16

If you have Sunday ticket, go back and look at the Atlanta game. The Bucs in defeat played better than in most of their victories, and Peter King said it was the best game they'd played all season.

These Bucs are NOT the Carolina Panthers. They may lose but they will not lay down, not for the Ravens, not for anybody, the rest of the season.
I saw that game. The Bucs are not the Falcons. They are way better than the Panthers, but definitely not the Falcons. I never said they would lay down. I fully expect them to fight, but I also expect them to lose. You've beat the Browns, the Panthers twice, the Bengals, the Cards, the Rams, and the 49ers. No really tough games there. All the tough teams were losses. The Ravens are a tough team. So if you follow the same pattern...

The Bucs have been getting better each week. The wins are getting bigger, the losses smaller. Based on THAT pattern, I'm hoping that this turns into a smaller than small Bucs win, leading to bigger wins later against the Saints and into the playoffs.

Your pattern, sadly, is more likely.

But that's why they play the game.

I'm out for today, Peace.

The Bucs are a very young team going up against a team with quite a few veterans. Even though they haven't won against teams with winning records, still having a 7-3 record is impressive turnaround from a poor last season. They have quite a few developing playmakers who once obtain the experience of a full fledged season, they'll definitely take the next step.

I like others want to see how well Joe Flacco performs against the Cover 2. Hopefully a good bounce back from the Bengals game earlier in the season. Ray Rice should definitely get 20/25 touches since the Bucs defense is ranked near the bottom of the league. On defense I'd like to see some play calling to confuse the young players and how Josh Freeman will react. Can't take the Bucs lightly especially after they're coming off a road shutout against the Niners. Should be a good one.

i am worried about mike williams.
Yea, Williams has been great for us this season and has already emerged into a top 15 WR in the NFL. He runs great routes, gets seperation, has good speed, and has good hands. I think Williams will definately be a guy you guys should look out for on our offense.

Williams is good but I wouldn't say he's a top 15 WR just yet. Assuming he stays healthy, he'll probably develop into one next season.

Yea, top 15 may be too high, but I think he is top 20. Ranks in the top 20 with yards and TD receptions.

I've heard the terms a million times and I obviously know what a cover 2 defense is, but what is the difference between a Tampa 2 defense vs Cover 2 defense, or is there even a difference?

Agreed. How have Gerald McCoy and Geno Hayes looked?

A cover 2 the safeties stay deep with each having responsibility for half the field. In a Tampa 2, a third player, usually the middle linebacker also drops into a zone in the middle of the field which is usually the weak spot in a traditional cover 2.

That's what I was thinking if that middle backer backs off, Talib will most likely be on Boldin so the slants might be tough to come by, screens would be a good call this game though.

Mason should have a good chance of beating Barber deep, he has lost a little bit of speed and I think Mason will have the edge.

I love the Bucs and what they are doing a lot of positive stuff coming out of there and they got a lot to look forward to. But I think this might be more of a coming home party then we thought Carolina was going to be. I personally see this game being a blow out, we will stop the run with a couple big runs from Blount gotta like what hes doing. We will get the lead and they will be forced to pass freeman will hook up with Williams for a big one (love these guys they come to play every week). But the fact defense will have a good game. And the whole nfl is going to be waiting for Steelers v Ravens, As always.

Aqib Talib vs. Anquan Boldin should be a good matchup to watch. Talib is a very good young corner, very physical too which matches Boldin's brand of football as well. I'm eager to see how Oher fares against Gerald McCoy as well

McCoy is a DT. I doubt he'll see much of Oher during the game.

I said this in that one thread, and I'll say it again here: Gotta, gotta, gotta break out a 60-minute ball game right here, this Sunday. Tampa Bay's been specializing in the comeback this season, and the Freeman kid has been clutch. Playing like a Raven only seems to net us about a half of good football. We've gotta play like two Ravens this week.
As soon as they do that I can't wait to see what this team can be

Talib is the best CB that no one talks about! I hope he sees the light and tires of going unnoticed, and joins our crew when his contract expires.

LOL! That would be sweet but TB isn't letting him go.

McCoy is getting better and better. He gets double teamed a lot and the rest of our d-line is really bad so it makes it hard for him. But, he has gotten some pentration, especially in these last few games. Our d-line finally played good last game and McCoy got his 1st career sack.

Hayes has been solid. He really strives in the Tampa 2. He is quick and is a very good tackler. He had a huge game against the Cardinals a few weeks ago.

If they end up playing alot of Tampa 2 this game Talib wont be following Boldin, he'll press him off the line and try to disrupt the timing of Boldins route, or re-route him in general, then release him into the little shell zone of the OLB. Deep outs will work and deep comebacks, which helps because Flacco throws a good deep out/comeback provided he has time.

Actually i would rather us ( if we lose any more games ) drop this game then beat Pitt rather than win this game and lose to the Steelers............so next weeks game is a must win not this one
You're absolutely right in that losing to the Bucs is better than losing to the Steelers. But imo, both those games are must wins.

I want us to win out in a BAD way. Because that might be the only way we win this division and get at least one home playoff game.

I'll agree that is extremely wishful thinking. Blount is good, but Lewis is legendary. There's not going to be any hesitation on Ray's part, he'd see Blount and know what needs to be done.

While I think the Bucs are not to be overlooked, their good record is deceptive. Let's compare shall we...

The Ravens have beaten the following teams:

Jets (8-2)
Browns (3-7)
Steelers (7-3)
Broncos (3-7)
Bills (2-8)
Dolphins (5-5)
Panthers (1-9)

(29-41)

And lost to the following teams:

Bengals (2-8)
Patriots (8-2)
Falcons (8-2)

(18-12)

And the Bucs have beaten the following teams:

Browns (3-7)
Panthers (1-9)
Bengals (2-8)
Rams (4-6)
Cardinals (3-7)
Panthers (1-9)
49ers (3-7)

(17-53)

And lost to the following:

Steelers (7-3)
Saints (7-3)
Falcons (8-2)

(22-8)

The glaring discrepancy here is that the Ravens have won against teams that are a total (29-41) versus TB who was won against teams with a combined (17-53). The Bucs have not beaten a team with a record as good as theirs. In fact, their best win in terms of the opposing teams' record would be against the (4-6) Rams. Not too impressive if you ask me when the Ravens have wins over the (8-2) Jets and (7-3) Steelers. On the other hand, the Bucs have only lost to top caliber teams with a combined (22-8) while the Ravens did lose to the lowly (2-8) Bengals.

This will be a battle but I have to give the edge to the Ravens. It doesn't mean we should overlook TB though.
