Ahem...

The 1-9, er, 2-8 Bengals would like to have a word with you...

If the Bucs are that close going into the fourth quarter, it's not going to go like this. Instead it's going to be a nail biter with a BUCS defensive stand defining the final winner, darned if I know who that would be.

Free has 18 TDs and only 5 interceptions, and he's at his best in the fourth quarter.

According to your fan base, your D isn't.

We shall see, in the end all predictions are wood smoke in a breeze.
I don't think your D would stand and stop us in the clutch. But if you guys had it on OFFENSE with a chance at the end to win or tie, you'd probably find a way to score.

I'm interested to see Joe go against the cover 2.
good point, i think Joe has developed to the point where he will handle it better than he has in the past, as long as the o-line keeps giving him time to make his reads and find the open man or check it down he will be fine, he seems to have brain freeze under pressure sometimes...like last week when instead of throwing the ball around he ran around the backfield and took a sack for a 8yd loss or close to it

You know, statisticians say that there was a game between Tampa Bay and the Colts in 2003, but somehow it can't be because that was the season we had two bye weeks in a row!

We are very sure of that in Tampa!

It's not like the Bucs have been dominate against their opponents with losing records this season.
Cleveland lost by 3 points, Cincinnati lost by 3 points, St. Louis lost by 2 points, Arizona lost by 3 points. Yes, you beat San Fran by 21, Carolina by 15 and 13, but you also let more than a few hang around with you. Baltimore's only faced 5 teams with a losing record, closing Cleveland out by 7, Denver by 14, Carolina by 24. We only lost to Cincinnati by 5 and beat Buffalo by 3 in overtime. However, for the majority of our games against teams with losing records, we at least put the game out of reach, even if teams are in it at the fourth. Tampa Bay's been taken to the wire by their games against losing record teams.

No offense to Tampa, and I haven't looked into it a great deal, but none of your wins have been decidedly impressive. The times you have played teams of our level, you have been beaten, mostly convincingly. For instance:

Week 3: vs Steelers (w/o Roethlisberger): 25 point losing margin.

Week 6: vs Saints: 25 point losing margin.

Week 9: @ Falcons: 6 point losing margin.

3 point winning margins over Cleveland and Arizona, and a 1 point margin over St. Louis.

I don't mean to disrespectful to the Buccs, and they are even the NFC team I like the most, but I think that we should be expecting the win. This will be a good game to throw an ever-progressing Flacco against a cover 2, which will be a good measure of how far he has come.

I'm not sure what you're trying to get at here... since the Bucs lost that game 35-38 in overtime.

I can't argue with that.

Our team has had to learn how to win.

We haven't had it easy all season until this last game and even THAT wasn't put away safely until well into the fourth quarter.

But the point is, with all those close nail biters, all those chances to lose, only the Saints and Steelers made the Bucs look like rag dolls, and those were quite early in the season.

This actually was an issue for our coach, at one point he expressed annoyance with so many close games and said emphatically that we needed to learn how to take a lead and pad it, and take command of games.

Well we've only done that once, luckily it was last week against a team that in theory could still make the playoffs as a division champion (sad!).

They just showed Raheem getting his team pumped up in the locker room after this past weeks game. He said "this is the most important game of the year, let's go see Bmore". Then they all started yelling "Ravens, Bmore" etc.....no matter the outcome, they're coming to play!

The 2003 Bucs-Colts game, of course. Unless I'm missing something here...

Funny you think we'd remember a loss like that.

Hmm, in the unlikely event that it actually happened we must all have collective amnesia.

It happens.

Meanwhile, us Ravens have to win this...have to
Someone on our boards, looking at the 7-3 or better Bucs, Bears, Pack, Eagles, Saints, and 6-4 Giants all fighting for five playoff spots (who cares who wins the NFC west) said EXACTLY the same thing,

meaning the Bucs.

This game matters, it's not just another interconference game, we each need it, badly.

Sadly, your guys will probably take it.

I think the BUCS are a formidable foe, they are believing in themselves. I watched the film from last week how they got after Troy Smith and stuffed the run, we better buckle up our CHIN SCRAPS for this one! Ravens 23 BUCS 20

I know all about amnesia, as you saw with the Cincy game you mentioned, haha

This should be a great game. Both are very solid teams and I see this one going down to the wire. I think the Ravens win, but I would not be surprised at all to see us steal this one. I have a great feeling about this game.

Actually i would rather us ( if we lose any more games ) drop this game then beat Pitt rather than win this game and lose to the Steelers............so next weeks game is a must win not this one

Should be a great game.

Hopefully its ours for the taking.

The Ravens take into consideration they don't want to upset their home crowd or let another team dominate in their house.

Good luck to the Bucs.

GO RAVENS

Yeah those early season games still sting sometimes...

Week 4 was rough, that shellacking was painful but like your loss to the Cincy (who WE beat in their house, thus matching loss for loss), it was now half a season ago and things change. Rookies pick up stuff as the pro game stops being so much faster than they were used to, injuries and suspensions take their toll, and even the guys who aren't on the injury list are usually so banged up by late November that in almost any other profession they'd be on sick leave.

I like to think the Bucs of late 2010 would be a better matchup for the Steelers, but it is what it is. Right now there is only one game and one opponent that matters, and that's you guys, Sunday, flex scheduled because we're both good enough to deserve it.

bucs blanked us in 02 in our house. we blanked you in your house guys in 06. matter of fact i think the bucs are the only team to blank us in our house ever.

those losses do sting. as of late cincy has been giving us problems. the atlanta game was thrown. i dont care what anybody else says. we blew a 24-10 lead against the pats. we just have to work out some wrinkles. our running game is due for a big day. ray rice is going to go explode on somebody.

Hold that thought for a week or so, the Steelers deserve the full fury that you are describing much more than we do! Not to mention that it would probably be more satisfying for you.

So by all means, keep it bottled up one more time.

:)
