I Remember When Ed Reed And Derrick Mason Were Going To Retire Last Year

6 posts in this topic

Seems like so long ago huh, I was telling my friends (Dolphin fans), YEAR laugh now, It's no way its going to happen.

And BOOM, Mason returns, Bings Boldin and Housh with him....Ed Reed returns later and has 4 Picks in 4 games.

Yeah, I don't want to think where we'd be without Reed back there, and he's only getting better as his body continues to heal. Mason brings so much toughness along with Boldin that his presence would be really missed as well.

They will be missed thats for sure.

I feel it would be hard to find a good enough replacement for Ed once he's gone.

Mason has contributed so much, but I feel that even after he's gone,we'll still have Boldin,TJ (if he stays),Stallworth, Heap, and possibly Dickson.

The good thing is we might not have to worry about Big Ray Ray going anywhere anytime soon.I think whether he gets a ring or not this year, he'll still continue to play because he's passionate.

But I hope we do get a couple more years out of these guys, just in case we don't make the Superbowl this year.

i don´t see him retire any time soon if his body gets back to the old level. i can see him play longer than bdawk. the FS position is a position where you can play at a relatively old age and still contibute on a high level because it´s all about experience and knowledge of the game. that makes those players like reed, dawkins and all the other great FS) such a rare breed.

trust me. ed isn´t done with the game. he still is the best in the biz and he still gettin better.

the other point is: missing ed plus ray is a scenario that scares me the most...

losing two of the greatest defensive playmakers of all time at one moment would really hurt us bad...
