Four Loko

I just went out and bought some of that stuff because they were supposed to be pulled from the shelves by today. I guess the store in my neighborhood didnt get the memo. Anyways, I dont think the beverage should have been pulled because a 90lb girl drank 3 or 4 of them then went for a ride and crashed. This drink is going to take the fall and get blamed for the death of this girl when nobody wants to just say he she shouldnt have been drinking and driving. Anyway, I was just ranting and giving my opinion

50 mg of sadness and a pinch of loathing. Or, at least, that's the part I tasted. An energy drink combined with a depressant, alcohol. If you drink it, you're just asking for it.

I know so many people that do it.

I've drank it once, it's pretty intense to say the least. I drank one can, if someone drank more than 2 they're asking for it.

I still don't think it should be illegal, just because there were a few cases of abuse and overuse doesn't mean everyone is going to abuse it. Also from a health stand point, sure, it can't be good for you but when you look at things out there on the market already but the great thing about freedom is the freedom to make a choice as an adult to consume what you please.

Don't get me wrong, I completely agree with you, I'm never doing that stuff again.

But I can understand why some people would love it.

The thing I don't like about it is the fact that it is clearly marketed to kids and young adults, and clearly made to be drank fast, not to be slowly enjoyed.
With a society that clearly has it's share of issues, especially alcoholism, and it's easy access, it's like playing with fire.
I imagine most people crush them, so it's like downing a bottle of white wine or roughly a six pack of beer.
And the fact it is also an "energy drink" makes people drink more of it, without feeling slowed down and unable to understand what condition they are in.
The entire idea of it is immoral and destructive, although the company just wants to make a profit regardless of it's impacts.
It's like the boy band of alcoholic drinks, meaning it was created solely to make a profit regardless of lacking substance and character, marketed to a highly impulsive youth based group, or others with issues regarding self control or knowledge of subject.
Alcohol is one of, if not the most powerful drug out there, and it doesn't take a doctors note to get.
Companies shouldn't be developing teletubby style alcohol.

I usually find people who obsess about things like "four loko" to be annoying, pretentious, and vacuous people. But that's just me, and that's just of the people I've met.

Nonetheless, I'm sympathetic to the plight of the reality escapist. They oughta have a drink where rather than get drunk, you just go into a coma. No car accidents, no next-day hangover, just that great coma taste and half the calories.

The problem with the drink is the fact that the drink is an stimulant, caffeine, mixed with a depressant, alcohol. That is a [i]very[/i] dangerous mixture, since both substances are trying to do opposing actions to your heart. Chris Farley and John Belushi were both killed by mixing stimulants and depressants, granted they were mixing illegal drugs, but the effect upon the heart was the same.

they actually dont taste half bad... a bit too "fruity" for me, as cliche as that may be, but drinkable. I don't get it... you can go buy grain alcohol like everclear and a redbull, throw them together and do as you please, but they ban four lokos?... I don't see the logic, but thats just imo

It's because of the oft-mentioned hazard of mixing stimulants with depressants. You don't have to be a doctor to realize what a dangerous combonation that is.

They're pretty good. I'd prefer them over drinking a six pack of beer. As long as you don't drink more than one and actually decide to operate machinery, you should be alright. Even though they're banned now, it's not hard to get them as long as you have a good connect.

You shouldn't puff the magic dragon in combination with it. All your senses pretty much shut down and you can't feel anything. Not that I know from experience or anything.

Because there's nothing they can do about people buying two different products and mixing them on their own. You could buy a beer and mix it with bleach, if you'd like, but that doesn't mean it's a good idea.

On the other hand, they can do something about a company selling a product that is a mixture of alcohol and an "energy drink". Which they should. If you want to make the... "silly" decision to mix your alcohol with copious amounts of caffeine, that's your prerogative. But companies do have to answer to government and regulations. Maybe if Four Loko didn't have as much caffeine in it, this wouldn't be such a big deal. It still wouldn't be smart, but the effect on the heart would be lessened.

Same with plain red bull. its bad for your system. But when im hammered and I wanna keep the party going, 4 lokos is there to ensure that lol

We drank some last week and played football....in the dark.....it was funny....and yes im 23....I havent completely grown up

I had a roommate who used to hit 4 Lokos or Sparxx at night and play GTA 4 all night long until like 3am and he'd play the game like real life...stop at redlights, walk instead of run down the street,drive in traffic normally. It was the weirdest thing Ive ever seen lol

1 Four Loko and around 4 Coor's Light set me UP on Sundays for football. I'm thankful that my aunt was able to get cases of the stuff when they pulled them from stores.

Illegal alcohol? Feels like prohibition yeah baaaaabby! lol
