Saw it on a live stream, that Rampage match was boring... he's not as flat as he was in the Evans fight but still pretty limited. Hughes is done.

Not to offend anyone, but this is proably going to get merged with the Pro wrestling Thread, since it covers all competitive fighting franchises.

Yea hughes is just too old now, he needs to stop. As much as I love hughes man tired of seeing him fight badly. I am glad Rampage won but I dont think he can take shogun anyways guess we will find out if Shogun can take down evans.

So who can beat GSP? My money is on noone in the 155-185 bracket but would like to hear some opinions.

Montreal broke the record again for most at a UFC event with 23,000 something. GSP also laid the natural beatdown on Koscheck and finally humbled him. All of the fights were pretty entertaining, I called it that Thiago Alves would be much better his second fight back from that mishap, he absolutely jacked the guys leg up and am surprised he didn't get the KO.

He gets better every fight, it's amazing. Should be interesting in the future but I know there are some tough guys at 185 for him (he would be a small small middleweight). He has said that he wants to claim and clean out the welterweight division first and that is what he is in the process of doing right now, whooping arse and chewing bubble gum. He looks unbeatable at the moment, Koschecks face was really bad.

That would be a big mistake as the Pro Wrestling thread is specifically intended to cover Pro Wrestling federations. UFC is not a Pro Wrestling federation.

Yea hes absolutely amazing. Most skilled fighter out there right now and possibly ever. Guy is a freak nothing much else you can sayabout him. True though a few 185ers would be a hard fight for him as he would be extremely small I do not however think that Spider would be one of those as I believe GSP would beat him. Not a fan of silva by the way :). I think hes so overrated.

Cant wait for the next even on the 1st either, Edgar verse Maynard should be quite the fight.

Silva is not overrated, I'd say he's declining due to age. At his best he was the most skilled MMA fighter ever.
Agree to disagree I have always thought he was overrated and there are a few I would put higher than him as best of all time.

Oh sure. He is one of the most skilled but unforunately that doesnt make you the best in my book. Guess I will just make a little list then.

So list of fighters off the top of my head that I think are better fighters than Silva is or was are:(no order here though)

Hughes

GSP

Lidell

Dan Henderson(this is a "homer" vote because i love hendo)

BJ penn(i hate him to by the way)

Shogun

Might be able to keep going but I don't feel like thinking about it anymore right now maybe later

Can't really argue with AZ on that one except for the Hendo one, all of those fighters absolutely dominated their divisions in their time. Some even were still able to do it after they aged such as Hughes Lidell and Couture.

Yea i like Hendo a lot so I kinda felt like I "had" to put him on there lol.

On the GSP thing I almost want to say he is the best I have ever seen. Guy is amazing and just keeps getting better.

That Edgar-Maynard bout was awesome... it was a shame that it ended in a draw, but Edgar earned the right to retain the title, even though he got annihilated in Round 1.

I was also glad that Chris Leben got owned.

Technically Maynard is still undefeated, so Im glad theres gonna be a rematch.

Any of you see what happened to Todd Duffy? after the UFC release he took on Alistair Overeem with two weeks notice and got KO'd in 19 seconds. Nothing puts the brakes on an MMA career like a glass jaw, maybe it's time for him to hit the pro wrestling circuit.

Yeah, I can't wait for that rematch... UFC 126 with Anderson Silva should be another good one.

Yea was such a good fight and Edgar improved a lot since they first fought. That said I thought Maynard had won(even though I really am a fan of Edgar). Neither of them wanted it to end like that, was a war.

Some great fights this weekend.

Ryan Bader takes on Jon Bones Jones (Ravens Art Jones brother)
Vitor Belfort vs Anderson Silva
Forrest Griffen vs Rich Franklin

Any 3 of these fights could be used as main events and co main events, should be a great card this weekend.

Everyone saw "the kick" from Silva v. Belfort right? Silva wrecked Belfort.

Overall another great UFC event.

Jon Jones and Forrest Griffin were beasts too.
