Let those who do fashion, worry about fashion. Football isn't a game where you get any points for the way you dress, so as far as I'm concerned, way too much emphasis gets put on throw back uniforms, color schemes (black outs), and towel colors. As long as we win the super bowl this year, I don't care if we wore pink and purple uniforms and painted the Lombardi trophy purple and black.

Take those over to the UFL lol but i like the Helmet. I checked out all of the teams in the NFL's jerseys and about 90% of them are terrible.

I have a feeling that the backwards logo is so it can fit with the contour of the helmet. You can see the helmet has those grooves and holes in it. And also I am not positive but I believe Nike doesn't just go "here is your uniform. Yeah it's fugly, you're sol." I believe the organization either helps in the design or has to approve the uniforms.

Anyone else notice that the helmets are Schutt instead of Riddell? You all know that the NFL has a contract with Riddell, right? Players can wear whatever helmet they want, but if it's not Riddell, the logo can't be shown.

As far as showing the logo backwards on the helmet, The primary logo (the one used for graphics on ESPN, NFL Network, etc) has the logo facing that direction. It's the easiest one to get a digital image of. The one that has the B facing backwards, as it would on the left side of the helmet, is pretty much ONLY on the helmet, meaning only in pictures, which don't translate well in Photoshop since they are already curved. The artist that did this took a stock image of a Schutt Ion4D helmet, slapped a Ravens logo on it backwards, and put it on a message board. Making it rotate around a 3 dimensional helmet is not that difficult (ie, a person well versed in Photoshop could do it pretty quickly).

I like the changes. And even if these exact changes don't happen, I think it's time for an update.

As for "a white helmet would all but eliminate the chance for a blackout," ummm... they can easily wear a black helmet when they decide to wear alternate uniforms. Teams where completely different color helmets during the season all the time.

The white helmet is something that i like. That was something that should have been used in the original 1996 uniform. The rest iam not sure about purple is not a great uniform color anyway but after 15 seasons i think that the team needs the uniform and helmet tweeked anyway.

HORRIBLE. Looks like Robocop meets Transformers. I thought Goodell was caving to blatant commercialism with games in Europe and Mexico, but this is worse than a cheesy Japanese cartoon. Maybe the NFLPA can use these as a negotiting tool.

These uni designs are ridiculous. They all follow the Oregon Duck's mode of being outlandish, crowded, and just ugly. Oregon is the testing ground for Nike but I doubt the NFL and the teams will agree to such drastic changes in design. I agree with Rigo though, it would be kind of interesting to see a purple alternate helmet design for the Ravens.

In all honesty, I know its not 'official' and it prolly wont even happen, but the ravens new look (helmet aside) really is refreshing and i'd be on board, just dont change the helmet. I just hope it wouldn't be a league wide change, there's some teams that should never change uniforms (bears, packers, steelers, cowboys etc.), but its not like the ravens have had a long history of wearing their current uniforms. Personally, i think they could go for something a little newer, and i'd adore for them to adopt what the jaguars have done with their helmet(black, but purple when the light hits it).

Vikings uniform is laughably hideous. Ravens isnt bad. I wouldnt use these every game, but it could be cool for a once a year thing, such as Halloween weekend.

first of all, our uniforms are already the best uniforms in the league so leave it how it is, and at the same time the steelers already have the worst uniforms in the league so to them those uniforms just add injury to insult. i meen come on they only have a sticker on 1 side of the helmet.. geez...

Whether these are legit or not I do see Nike making big changes... that means people have to buy the new uniforms = $$$ for Nike and the NFL. It's common sense.

The Ravens one isn't bad besides the helmet. Some are laughable though (Jags, Patriots, Steelers, Chiefs).

Sarah Ellison is wrong to imply the information "leaked" from Nike in her title. They're absolutely fan-made, have no affiliation to Nike, whatsoever. Bloggers make mistakes. Check the first few pages, said the same thing to her as I said to you.

EDIT: Check Sarah's update in her blog. Even though it was never actually "rumored", people just don't take the time to look things up.
