I like Gaither's "potential" which is a dreaded word but nonetheless I feel he could be a capable Left Tackle, given some more time to grow. We picked him up for a mere 5th Round pick in this weekend's draft, so he is leaps and bounds ahead of most raw prospects coming out of the draft. Let's give him a chance, but let's not put too much pressure on the kid as no one will be able to fill J.O.'s shoes

But I hope he DOES have the potential to do it. Also I hope he puts his mind to it if he does have to fill in for JO.

lol i kno what you mean by the dreaded word "potential." (i.e. daniel cabrera of the orioles). But you're right, the only way he'll improve is if he gets more and more playing time. I mean, I still believe that the Ravens don't need to draft anymore OL's, because the OL we have has a lot of talent in it, it just needs to build chemistry and playing time within each other.

I think they do need to draft OL's because I think the lack of depth at alot of positions including the offensive line is what killed us last year.

Jared Gaither interview (5:52 min) on BR.com:

He seems like a nice kid, very humble.
Shield on my arm
Sword in my right
Cape on my back
This is where we fight
Baltimore! We built for this!

Cool interview. Seems like he genuinely appreciates being with the team.
