Ravens At Panthers

165 posts in this topic

I'm not sleeping on this game at all. I'll be going to it and hopefully I'll see more Ravens fans at Bank of America Stadium since the Panthers are not having a good year. Hopefully we can paint Carolina Purple & black lol.

The only thing that worries me is the defense... for as bad as Carolina has been this season our defense will make them look like they have been good offensively all year. Hopefully Suggs continues to dominate and get to the QB and keep Clausen on the ground all game long.

On a side note, just because I'm a stats geek, Flacco is on pace for 27 TDs, 12 INTs, and almost 3800 yards this season, which includes games 1-3 where he had 2 TDs and 6 INTs combined. Could you imagine or offense next year if we added VJ or Sidney Rice, or even Brian Finneran (all wideouts with size that could coomplimnent Boldin and David Reed, assuming Stallworth, Mason, and Housh aren't back)?
Can you imagine how good Flacco's numbers would be if his offensive line didn't let everyone through like it was their job? Those guys have been playing backwards lately. The pressure that's getting laid no Flacco would do in just about any QB, and he still put up great numbers for a great performance on Thursday in the 2nd half. He had that 1 INT, yes, but also 3 TDs and a lot of important first downs. He had an average of less than 2 seconds to make some kind of play before it was time to either junk the ball or get sacked, it was absolutely nuts how little freedom and time he had against the Falcons. Fix the O-line, and Flacco will have the numbers of a god.

We should win this game handily, but that is what I said for the Bills game too....
I hope they come out pissed as hell....

I hope to see a big group of purple at the game!

I don't want to take any team for granted after Buffalo, but from what I've seen from Carolina I do not anticipate a difficult game. We'll see though I refuse to write anyone off.

Also, thats what I thought would happen in the Bills game, so I really have no idea what kind of mind-state the team will be in for the game.

Not that I was scared he'd do much but Panther WR Brandon LaFell might have suffered a concussion yesterday and could miss the games against the Ravens.

Oh gosh just what we need, for Harbs to come out and say that we are going to Unleash Hell... that worked out for Mike Tomlin and the Steelers last year didn't it?

Though to be serious, yes I hope they come out angry and just wanting to hurt people, I hope we do what the Broncos did to the Chiefs and the Raiders did to the Broncos and just score and run up the score to show that we are going to be a team to reckon with!

Suggs tasted blood on Thursday. I honestly look for him to have a huge game on Sunday. Black Suggs jersey will be worn.

Didn't we think the bills were a good rebound game? Don't sleep on NFL teams this season. Its just one of those years
That's the Ravens' responsibility. Me? I'm in a sleepy mood.

Suggs should have been tasting blood for two years after the contract he got. Here's to hoping that he keeps up that motor for the rest of the season now!

He needs to play like he did against Atlanta with the contract that he is getting.

I smell a trap team with a chip on their shoulder...
I don't think this is a trap game in any way shape or form. If Baltimore had come off of a win, maybe (but probably not), but you know the defense is going to use this opportunity to prove they still have it... or at least try to prove it.

Besides that, the Ravens never seem to take lousy teams lightly as shown by their terrific record against them in recent years.

I don't know. I think the defense took the Bills lightly and the offense bailed them out. After that though, I don't really see them sleeping on the Panthers. I'd like to see us take a large early lead (for once, please, my heart lol) so we could see what some of our younger players can do.

P.S. Anyone heard anything about Mason?

The bills are just really unlucky. I dont think they are lousy. They have been in every game they have played, just havent been able to get a peice of luck.

Has anything been posted about Mason's status for the Panther's game? Haven't seen anything on his finger issue since they did the x-rays in ATL before returning home.

Yes, pleeease....just once, it would be nice to have a "laugher" of a game in which the only time it's even close is at the start of the game. I don't want a heart attack in my mid-twenties haha. That being said though, the Panthers have some talented players on both sides of the ball and even if we don't take them lightly, they could end up making some plays. I think as long as we can keep Williams and Stewart in check like we did to Turner on Thurs. night, then we'll be alright and should win by at least a couple touchdowns.

I have been a Ravens fan since '05 when I started getting back into football and this will be the first Ravens game I have attended so I am stoked. No game in the NFL is a cakewalk, but I have to think that after the Falcons loss and with some extra time to rest and prepare for the Panthers, this should be a "W" for us. The added bonus for me should be the Ravens finally beating the only team they have not defeated in the regular season...and hopefully Ed will snag his 50th career pick too. Go Ravens!

No news is probably good news... he's a warrior; he'll be playing.

Hopefully we'll take care of business early and be able to rest some of the starters in the 4th quarter. We better take them seriously though (unlike Buffalo).

I think he would need to have his fingers (yes, multiple) fall off in order for him not to play. He is the epitome of a warrior, like stated.

Without a doubt, just most peoples predictions dont include how many touchbacks a kicker will have in a game lol
Hey, we have to cling to all the good things about this team we can, :D.

no offense taken but too many "fans" think some teams are "automatic" wins. not so!

this is the NFL...."Any Given Sunday!" a bad team can beat a good one...

case & point: 1-7 Dallas just beat the Giants in the Meadowlands.

that was the point of my post! which should have been understandable!

No I agree the Ravens as an organization shouldnt sleep on anybody

Not only has one of their starting WRs suffered a concussion and is likely to miss the game but Jimmy Clausen has reportedly suffered a concussion too. If he doesn't go, Tony Pike will start Sunday.

I know the Ravens defense has struggled if Pike can make plays, then this team is in trouble.

It's true that the defense didn't play well against the Bills, (or the Pats, or the Falcons for that matter). But it did not seem as though they were an awesome defense that underestimated their opponent. They just aren't that good anymore.

Mason? The guy who played with one arm? I doubt a broken finger will keep him out next week, but I haven't heard anything specific.

I don't care who the QB is this week. Steve Smith is still Steve Smith and killed us last time we played them. Their running game is solid too. This won't be a cake-walk by any means.

I'm just happy that Peppers isn't there anymore...

That was four years ago and Delhomme was still playing good football at the time.

I realize that, but he's still a force, and can easily torch our current DBs... the key will be pressuring the QB so he doesn't even have time to get him the ball.
