Trade For Chad Johnson?

40 posts in this topic

I accept your challenge. Most NFL icons have probaly thought that they were Hall of Fame worthy, but don't say it publically. We all know that wide recievers are the Divas of the NFL, so does it trully surprise you that one would be so outspoken. I'm more surprised that more wideouts don't make similar claims to fame. My main point was that, yes it was bold to say it, but Chad Johnson is a future hall of famer and he is funny to boot.

As far as being an owner goes, I don't think that any owner of any team would be looked down upon if they aquired Chad Johnson for thier team. If the Ravens picked up Johnson today, I promise that you wouldn't be able to keep his jersey on the shelves.

I'll accept your challenge. If Ray Lewis ever does proclaim himself a future Hall of Famer then I'll comment but until then It has only been Chad Johnson. Chad hasn't even earned the right to be considered for the Hall of Fame. You can't win this one Kwolf. Your words "but don't say it publically." My point exactly. If all things remain the same I'll NEVER be a Chad Johnson fan. IMO Chad Johnson is a fun guy but he made a mistake that up until now shows something of his character.

I think Ray Lewis could handle Chad's personality.. he really, really wants to win which fits right into our mold as a team, granted he is just a bit over-the-top.. that being said, I wouldn't give up more than a 4th Round pick (that's all the Raiders got for Moss from the Pats and I think Moss is better than "Ocho Cinco")

I've thought about it. You are a Raven fan, so I know that you have seen almost every interview that Ray Lewis has been in. You know, as well as I, that Ray has said plenty of times that the reason that he plays the game "is to be the best that there ever was". "The best thier ever was" go to the Hall of Fame. So technically, Ray has said it, but Chad just said it more clear. I agree with you on one thing though, if Chad stays a Bengal then i can't be a fan of his, my heart won't let me.

For the record Stan, this a debate so that means that I won't lose this one either.

As far as giving up picks, I never undestood why teams have suddenly become so cheap-hearted with draft picks. You are getting a proven player for a maybe. You say that the Patriots only gave up a fourth-rounder for Moss, so no reciever that is less talented than Randy Moss should be given up for more than a fourth round pick?! No, the Raiders were big dummies (not the words that I wanted to use, but I'll be 'G' rated). What did the Raiders get for Randy Moss? The CB John Bowie?! You are saying that a 'John Bowie' is the equal value of an older 'Randy Moss'. I don't know if that statement would be true after Moss retires. So I'm tired of hearing that we wont give up more than a fouth round pick for Chad Johnson, cause not every team is as dumb as the Raiders. New England got a steal, you can't set unfair standards cause Belichick cheated the Raiders (Oops, did I say Belichick cheated). Randy Moss and Chad Johnson are both worth more than a fourth round pick, and thats just the truth!

I think we should draft another playmaking safety to help out Ed Reed, thats just my opinion.

i believe we drafted 2 safetys in the draft and i think they will both be very good players

yes just because hes good other than that no.

That, and I think all of our players are in love with the guy. listen to him talk to our guys in between plays. it's hysterical. My favorite:

"Yo Bart! I'm not the bad guy! I love you! I love you!"

I like Chad and if we could steal him for a 4th Rounder, which WON'T happen, then I am allllll for it....

he worth like 2 first rounds at least

no chance. A team will probably get him for a second rounder.
