All those things are very true, and why I hate blaming officials.
But it does not negate the fact that we did what we had to do to win, which is take the lead when it matters-with a minute left on the clock, and victory was taken away from us by the officials, not because ATL outplayed us when it truly mattered.

Right. There are always things we did wrong. No one plays a perfect game. In that respect it would be impossible to blame the refs for anything. If someone messed up the scoreboard and gave Atlanta 99 points, you could still say "Well we didn't score 100." I'm not the kind to whine for no reason, but ain't it about time these officials are held accountable for their blunders?

I hate blaming officials as well, I'm the type of person that looks at me first. Now, I do believe they blew it but I'm cerebral enough to know that we put ourselves in the situation to get screwed. The point is to not put yourself in the position for failure in the first place and with all the other areas we did poorly in it would seem as if we dug our own grave and the falcons just pushed us in.

I completely agree with you. When we went down 20-7 I thought it was looking grim but the offense responded when they had their balls to the wall and that's one positive that I take away from this game. When you punch Joe in the mouth he recoils and slugs back. That's the type of guy I want calling the signals for my team. We matched ATL pound for pound in the second half to make the game close and winnable. If only we could have played even near that level in the first half.

Officials are held accountable to a certain extent. Come playoff time only a few crews with the best ratings make it. What I would like to see is fines for refs that blow multiple calls. If you can fine players for questionable play you can fine refs for questionable calls.

I'm not gonna put the blame on the refs but MAN they effed up! Bad bad calls. At the end of the day though, what really lost this game for us was lack of pass rush. Ryan had far too much time on all his throws, and this was with 5-6 man rushes! How is it that we can get no pressure with 5 but the Falcons were getting consistent pressure with 3?

Side note: John Abraham completely embarrassed Michael Oher. End of story
