The Steelers have these games left...

- New England
- Oakland
- @ Buffalo
- @ Baltimore
- Cincinnati
- NY Jets
- Carolina
- @ Cleveland

Not too difficult...
New England- losing horribly as of now: 23-3
Oakland- on a role right now: 115 pts in last 3 games
@ Buffalo- perform better than their win record shows
@ Baltimore- face an invigorated division rival at M&T
NY Jets- always seem to find ways to win
Carolina- CAR will have desperation to fuel them
Cleveland- have lots of tricks up their sleeves

I beg your pardon?

So, we're 6-3 right now. So are the Steelers, and let's face it, the AFC North is coming down these two teams. So let's look at both of their schedules.

Next Week: Ravens at Panthers. I'm confident we win this game...Lord please
don't let them do what the Bills did to us.
Record: 7-3

Steelers vs. Raiders. Tough game. Two good defenses, hard to predict.
I'll pick Steelers because they have the better
offense on paper. Record: 7-3 or 6-4

Week 12: Ravens vs. Bucs. Hard to say. They have the type offense that
seems to really expose our defense. Their defense
vs. our offense is a better match up. If we start
quickly, we'll win. Our offense is coming
together, especially with Carolina to work out
the kinks from Atlanta with. Record: 8-3 or 7-4

Steelers at Bills. It is an away game, but I don't think the Bills
have enough left in the tank to win this game.
Record: 8-3 or 7-4

Week 13: Ravens vs. Steelers. Um...I say we win. We're at home, their defense
isn't what it was the beginning of the season,
neither is ours. But we have the better offense.
Steelers Record: 8-4 or 7-5 Ravens Record: 9-3 or 8-4
If we're both 8-4, we have the indisputable tie breaker. That's key.

Week 14: Ravens at Texans. Texans are up and down, bad on defense. I say we
win. 10-3 or 9-4

Steelers vs. Bengals. Steelers most likely win. Bengals offense too
shotty. 9-4 or 8-5

Week 15: Ravens vs. Saints. Ugh...Saints are coming together, and they man
manhandled the Steelers. But that was at the
Superdome. This game is in the bitter cold of
Baltimore. So...it's a toss up. Even more so with
Bush back. Record: 11-3 or 10-4 with a win,
10-4 or 9-5 with a loss.

Steelers vs. Jets. Jets win. Unless Sanchez chokes, and so far he
hasn't choked under pressure. Record: 10-4 or 9-5.

Week 16: Ravens at. Browns. ****. That's all I have to say. Contain. Hillis. or
Die. McCoy is doing good too....good defense...last
game against us was close....Ruh-roh.

Steelers vs. Panthers. Er, do I have to say it? Record: 11-4 or 10-5.

Week 17: Ravens vs. Bengals. Unless Flacco has nightmares of week 2, we win. And
I have faith in Flacco.

Steelers at Browns. dgtnt4t89gfast. Why must the Browns be good???

Worst Case Scenario: We lose to Browns, and end the season 10-6. Steelers beat Browns and go 11-5 if Steelers beat Raiders coming up, or they tie us at 10-6 and we win by tie-breaker. This is assuming we beat them week 13.
So realistically, we only need to win 1 more tough game, out of the 4 we have. Beat the Steelers, and either the Saints, Tampa, or Browns, and we'll go about 12-4, good enough to win the AFC North uncontested. Pretty good position all and all.

I hope this proves the silliness of trying to predict games and records by the way.

I'm most worried about the Saints and the Browns (shocking, right?) at this point. The rest of the teams can beat us but I see it as far less likely.

I worry about those two and Tampa. They got some quick receivers, and quick overall players like Buffulo has. And we know what quick players do to our older defense.
Btowns with Hillis is a night terror waiting to happen.
Saints are just good at winning games.

Win out just to make the playoffs? 13-3 or bust in your eyes? We can (hopefully don't) lose a game or two and more than likely still make the playoffs.

It's going to be neck and neck with Pitt, and the Pats/Jets are going to be firmly in the wildcard race as well. We have the advantage over Jets and Pitt, obviously, but I predict Jets to win their division, leaving Pats in the wildcard and they are 7-2 right now, playing ridiculously well when they are focused.

Pitt's schedule is pretty easy, as is the Pats. One loss in the AFC would ruin us. I agree with you in part, because I think maybe a loss to the NFC, such as against the Saints, wouldn't be too damaging. An AFC loss would ruin our chances IMO

I agree that it will all come down to that game 2 weeks from Sunday in Baltimore for the AFC North title and possibly getting one of those top 2 seeds. The Steelers now much like the Ravens whichever one ends up winning the North needs to now hope that the Jets win the East because both the Steelers and the Ravens dont hold the head to head tiebraker over the Pats. The Ravens currently hold it over the Jets, and the Steelers will get a chance to hold it over the Jets when they meet them in Pittsburgh next month as long as they are still one game behind them. The Colts are still in this race as well for the number 1 and 2 seed as they meet the Pats this Sunday in New England. So either way both the Ravens and the Steelers whoever ends up winning the division will get help from one of these teams losing Sunday in New England. Being a Steelers fan now after that performance last night I just hope they can secure a wildcard spot at this point. The good news is the Steelers are 6-3 overall and 4-2 in the conference and hold head to head tiebrakers over wildcard contenders Tennessee and Miami, and have a chance to do the same over another one this week with a win over the Raiders...
