Falcons at our place would've been different. If they had to travel on a short week and play against a good home team (and Ryan is far from great on the road).

Steelers beat them in a close one in Pittsburgh well rested with time to practice a gameplan.

That's why I hate comparing who beat who.

Which is what I'm saying. If they came here, the outcome probably would have been different. I'm still confused as to why our prime time games are seemingly always away.

Didn't the Steelers have the Falcons at home in the first week and had the whole offseason to prepare while the Ravens only had three days to get ready, and you take one of those days away for travel while the Falcons are one of the hardest teams to beat at home? You're weak, see you in three weeks.

BTW, go Patriots.
Falcons were garbage though according to what you said a few weeks back dude I can go back and find the thread if you want me too. Doesnt matter how long you had to prepare the Steelers only won that game by 6 points on a TD in overtime and had Dennis Dixon as their starting QB not Ben Roethlisberger. And unlike the Ravens defense the Steelers defense actually made plays against Matt Ryan and the Falcons offense late in that game something the Ravens failed to do last night for pretty much the entire game. What's your excuse for losing in Cincy then was it because the Bengals made you wear the purple jerseys early in September in the heat??

Steelers had to play in New Orleans a few weeks backs in primetime, while the Ravens get them at home in December where they always play well in Baltimore. So right there it's a wash pretty much with the Steelers getting the Falcons at home and the Ravens having to play them on the road...Because the Ravens get the Saints at home in the cold outside while the Steelers had to play in the Superdome...The bottom line is the Steelers got beat fair and sqaure in New Orleans just like the Ravens got beat in Atlanta last night...

Are you trying to say the Steelers are better than the Ravens through Atlanta? Go play your tough games at home and fumble before you break the plane but win anyway.

No Im just saying the Steelers defense shut Matt Ryan down when they needed too in their game with the Falcons and the Ravens didnt. That was the difference in both of those games. The Dolphins lost that game with the Ben fumble because they kicked 5 FG's and couldnt capatalize on 2 Steelers turnovers early in the game. Plus, they had over two minutes after the Steelers took the lead 23-22 to drive down the field and get in FG range to win the game and failed to do so. That's more of the reason the Dolphins lost then the Ben fumble in the end zone. You dont win or lose a game on one play anyway in a game it never happens thats way...

We need to be 8-3 going into the game with Pitt. If we drop a game against a terrible Carolina team and an unknown Buccaneers squad, we'll be in trouble.

Dude, you got Atlanta at Home and you are getting New England and the Jets at Home as well... the schedule clearly favors the Steelers once again.

Out of all the teams the Falcons had won at home, only four of them I think had winning records. Five after last night. I never said that they were a horrible team, Matt Ryan is obviously the real deal, all I was saying is that they're beyond beatable on the road, as evidenced by them going to Pitt, and getting killed by Philly. So far at home they've played Cincy, TB, Arizona, SF and us. That's a combined record of 17-23. We came off of a short week, guys hurt, no answer for White, horrible playcalling. Flacco's awful play in Cincy is the reason why we lost, but he's been a beast ever since.

You guys will be 8-3 going into the Steelers game and the Steelers most likely will either be 9-2 or have the same 8-3 record. If the Steelers dont lose to the Patriots on Sunday I think they will be in good shape to beat both Oakland and Buffalo and be 9-2 going into Baltimore. There is no way that I see the Ravens losing to either Carolina or the Bucs it wont happen...

Do you guys realize that 6-3 isn't bad at all? At worst you'll be 11-5 at the end of the year. That should be a playoff spot.

I remember being pissed about losing to the Colts and Giants in 2007. We ended up 12-4 and went the the SB. Last night was a good game. You guys fell short and simply didn't play well enough to win. But I wouldn't say you're going down hill. Heck, look what happened to the Pats last week. It's a parity league and anyone can beat anyone on any given Sunday. Relax my friends, you will be just fine. ;)

Edit - "just fine" until we whoop your tails in the playoffs that is. :P

The Ravens are still 6-3 after the toughest schedule of any playoff-caliber team. Hope is not lost. Remember the big concern coming into the game? It was run defense. But you don't hear that mentioned, because we did incredibly well against the run. And if we were able to force a few more incompletions on 3rd down the Falcons wouldn't have done anything against us. Yes they drove the field on us, but we forced them into 20 third downs. We did a great job on 1st and 2nd. Hope is not lost.

Funny how a Steelers fan is a voice of reason at this time :) So you're sure Joe Flacco doesn't stink??

On topic: we did get a swing of fortune, having the Saints at home in December. That's where you want them: in the cold, in your own building.

Yes it does Im not arguing with that but at the end of the day you still gotta go out and play football no matter if youre playing very good teams like the Pats and Jets at home or away. The Ravens had a 10 point lead on the Patriots in New England and lost so youre telling me there is no way possible that the Pats would have been able to come back had that game been in Baltimore?? The fact still remains had the Ravens been able to beat the Bengals in Cincy early in the year they would be in first place right now.

The Steelers and the Ravens are most likely going to meet 2 more times in Baltimore on December 5th and in the playoffs depending upon who wins the North. They are clearly the 2 best teams in the AFC and I will be very surprised if we dont see the Ravens at least one more time after the Sunday night game in Baltimore...

I think this sums up how we are going to end up:

At Best:
13-3

At Worst:
6-10

My Prediction: 12-4

I also remember you saying the Steelers beat the Titans in Tennessee with Kerry Collins starting at Quarterback and Vince Young on the bench when you clearly had your information wrong there too. Vince Young was on the bench in that game because the Steelers put his *** on the bench by sacking him virtually every series and causing the Titans offense 5 turnovers while Young was playing QB. Collins didnt enter into that game until midway through the 4th quarter. So all Im saying is if you want to run your mouth and talk smack that's fine but just make sure you got your facts right because when you were talking about the Steelers Titans game you werent even close...

I say 11-5 two more losses to the Saints and Steelers. What Brees is going to do to our secondary is going to be criminal if we dont sustain drives on offense.

Drew Brees will assassinate this defense. Hopefully we improve by that time, or the game could get real ugly.

Who predicts that we come out flat against Carolina and start off losing 14-0 in the first quarter?

No one though that was gonna happen against the Bills...

I hope not honestly. There's no way I see this team being unmotivated, and pretty livid about the last loss.

I don't see how that's necessarily an advantage (Young over Collins). And if we're talking about the Steelers, they started with Young and ended with Collins. It was only close because Collins got things going for the Titans.

Other than Smith, they don't really have a WR who can do damage, so if they do get a 14-0 nothing leads, it would probably be because of the running game.

But slice and dice are banged up, and I'm not sure if they will be playing.

DeAngelo is supposed to be back. I don't know if Stewart will but if the Ravens could corral Turner, there's no reason they shouldn't clamp down on Carolina's running game.

Ok folks it s one game. I myself am happy with our secondary (no I am not enjoying a crack laced cigarett) Look our secondary was predicted to be awfull this year they were pic by all NFL.com, ESPN, you name it to be our down fall and thus far I would say they have preformed better than expected. Yesterday I saw Matt Ryan not having any pressure at all except maybe Suggs. If you give a offense like that kind of time they will be beat you..
