I'm not going to try and figure out what the team's final record will be. I'm going to take the schedule week-to-week because every team in the league has been a week-to-week team this year. There have been no true leaders of the pack.

I think we go 11-5. Hopefully thats good enough to make the playoffs, because I think this might be one of those years when even 11 wins doesn't guarantee a playoff spot.

This is not worth freaking out over... this was one of the toughest games on our schedule and luckily it was non-conference, non-division. If we get ourselves together hopefully we can show Pittsburgh that we're a better team and be back in #1 in the AFC North. We could be back in the #1 spot on Sunday if the Pats show up in Pittsburgh.

No way we sweep the 3 remaining divison games. Especially with how good the Browns are playing now. The you look at what happened with Roddy White and Terrell Owens will probably rip us a new on too.

Everything depends on us beating the Steelers. If we do, I think we win the division. If we don't, we'll be lucky to get a wild card.

10-6 Wildcard slot at best. Some of these guys just aren't hungry for a SB it seems like.

Tonight’s game against the Atlanta Falcons appeared to be a very winnable game. The issues seemed to be as follows:
1. No enough push up the middle. As I thought last year when that was happening, Kelly Gregg seems to be the weak link. At some point, the Ravens are going to have to make a commitment to starting Cody at Nose. I know Cody is better against the run but I think he will be as good as Gregg is now and will improve each week. Ryan continually stepped up in the pocket and completed critical passes, especially on 3rd down. Our DBs are being asked to cover too long.
2. The offensive play calling was a mixture of brilliant and mediocre. The draws were brilliant, the screens were good (although some failed to produce yardage), bubble screens worked nicely and the pitch play was good. However, the constant theme for this year has been “if it works, forget about it”. The mixture of runs to open the game worked; then we got “pass happy”, especially with drop back passes. That did two bad things: First, it allowed Atlanta’s linebackers to play pass first and second, it kept putting our defense on the field, wearing them down.
3. As I stated in my comments last week, I’m not sold on Joe Flacco as a franchise QB. He tends to overthrow receiver on deep routes, especially “skinny posts” and “Go” routes (both 9 and 10). He also tends to throw into double coverage and will often under throw for “picks”. Although he has 7 picks, several more sure picks have been dropped by the opposing DBs, so he could easily have 11 or 12. In addition, I wonder if Joe’s famed “cool” demeanor is actually his being aloof and not really a sign of coolness under pressure. Regardless, it would be nice to see more consistency with those throws.
4. Failure to call plays designed to roll Joe Flacco away from the rush and failure to take advantage of T.J.’s ability to (a) catch the ball in crossing routes and his ability to run after the catch.
5. We need to commit to one guy on KO returns and one guy on punt returns. The yards will come with consistency. That carousel tonight proved nothing. Despite his error tonight, David Reed and Donte Stallworth will probably work out well in the long run.

There are a few additional issues but these are the most glaring. If the majority of these things are not fixed, the Ravens will end their year at 10-6 and possibly 9-7 with a Wildcard berth in the playoffs and no home field advantage.

Thats probably not going to get you a playoff spot in the tough AFC this year.

Who knows, who cares...

That's not a knock on you or this topic, it's just this team is so sporadic, I'm not comfortable in giving them wins anymore based on who we play. But I'll say 10-6 beating the Panthers, Bucs, Browns and Bengals. We tend to beat mediocre to losing teams, so that's my prediction.

Carr, Webb, Wilson, Washington.... just sayin
I saw Wilson pleading with the refs after he was pushed down and even more angry during a sideline shot so I'd say he cares. And please expand on Webb, Wilson and Fabian. They get beat so they aren't hungry? Come on dude.

JJ to start. Where has he been?

Some of the Oline

Mattison for poor defensive adjustments

Redding

Whatever is going on with special teams.

Don't get me wrong. I WANT these guys to win it. But that performance out there was just terrible. Short week or not, you suck it up.

I suck it up when I have to at work. You want your electricity 24/7 right? It comes at a price.

I have to agree about JJ. He's fallen off a cliff this year. Playing with one shoulder last year he was playing better. Assuming Kindle can come back healthy next year I don't see us resigning him unless he comes really cheap.

I'd like to see more consistency. Hey I'm particular about my defense. This is the worst it has been in years.

Years.

There has to be a reason for it.

Granted they stopped Turner, I'll give them that. It just seems like they didn't game plan after that.

wow lots of negativity in this thread. I see a really good team that can finish the season 13-3. No really hard road games left ( Houston has an abysmal Defense), and if we take care of business at home ( and we should, we have a better team that Pitt and NO)we sit at 13-3, Division champs, and home field.

Dude, I can understand you calling out those players and the coach if you felt they had poor games but to say they're not hungry for a SB is bologna to me.

I'm not sure what "electricity 24/7" will do. You say, you "suck it up" when you have to. Do you know, J.J. has battled back spasms and bum shoulder all year? The o-line got beat beat, it happens around the league, does that mean those guys don't want to win a SB? I saw Mattison make adjustments tonight. Some times it worked, other times, it didn't. There are 11 men on another side of the field too. Redding is aging vet; do you expect him to John Abraham?

I like your optimism. But I have to see things from a realistic perspective. I just don't see that happening.

Granted we should be 13-3. Will we? I highly doubt it.

i agree on wilson but i just dont see where carr washington and webb are... i saw in i wanna say early in the fourth were webb was covering white and white did like a 5yd curl and webb was gna jump the route and probably pick it and pulled back and went for the tackle instead we needed points not good tackles.. u know i dnt like him but carr played ok... and washington didnt really do anything. to make a longer story short we need corners

We had high hopes for you guys in this game. Falcons are not better than you same a Browns are not better than NE.
Its tough loss, brush it off and move on to the next game.

Best to you all in this thanksgiving, and for your men and women that serve.

I didn't know about JJ. I wish it was brought up in the news, or I missed that.

But don't sit there and make excuses for these guys. I won't. They shouldn't. They got beat plain and simple. I hope it doesn't happen again.

Sorry but that was a big defensive let down.

They make millions (most at least) so they are subject to scrutiny.

You don't want to hear excuses when your electricity is turned off right? You want it back on. That's my job. I help generate electricity. I don't sit there and drum up excuses for myself. I get it done.

I'll stop here. I'm no longer going to respond. I'm not in the mood to argue. I'm not angry with you. If you want to take this, take it to PMs then.

Thanks.

To be honest I think our hardest game will be NO. Big Ben always get me worried, but their O-line has been decimated. I really find it hard to believe they will be dominant the second half of the season. New Orleans is going to be healthy, and Drew Brees can pick apart any defense. I do think that our offense is good, and I think we can keep up with any team in this league.

The thing is this Ravens teams is different than what it has been. Our defense is no longer a dominant force, but it still has the ability to make stops ( and we have Ed Reed >.< )

However, our offense has the potential to be great. I have been a Ravens fan since they came to Baltimore, and that is the first time I have been able to say that with confidence.

How am I making excuses? We all saw them get beat. I'm trying to get you to expand on your point about certain players not being hungry for a SB(something you still haven't done).

Please don't try to compare your job to there's. They are pro athletes going against other(for the most), equally skilled, equally well-paid pro athletes who are paid to beat the tar out of them too. Are there other individuals paid to prevent you from doing your job?
