Suggs Attends Minicamp

21 posts in this topic

well i would think that he would attend almost everthing, If not everything...i mean if you think about it, He's here to do one thing and one thing only....Play Football. and so everything else is his his agents doing and the fact that he has/had said numerous times before........he's a Baltimore Raven, he will be, he always will be, and with that type of positive mindset....it really put the re-itteration that Suggs is out there for his team and his teammates, not the money.

You'd think that, but the fact that this counts as news shows that most players in contract disputes choose not to attend. And Suggs has held out before, so this is a welcome change.

I mean, compare this to the Chad Johnson situation or even Brian Urlacher. Must be a pretty awesome environment if Suggs wants to come just to make an impression on Harbaugh.

lol yea thats the "other" teams around the NFL and in the league right now...the ravens arent the other teams..and so our players are making the decision to come to the Camp's and train and work out with everyone..with the mindset of Team in mind...and not for themselves. which is a key aspect to have in our players.

I heard Ray Lewis showed up, too. I'm glad the players are making an effort to get this season off to a good start.

I think alot more guys showed up today to hear McNair's press conference. All of the offense should be present at EVERY mini camp sheduled. They have alot to prove and alot to learn with a new OC and HC, Im not worried at all about the defense with Rex coming back, and all the starters coming back healthy.

The players didn't know McNair was retiring until after they got there this morning. No, I think the players showed up to try to get off to a good start with the new coaching staff. Smart move IMO.

No, he told Ozzie and Harbs last night. The rest of the team didnt find out until this morning. Samari Rolle and Derrick Mason said it in their press confrence's.

damn I just love seeing the way the team supports Harbs. Harbs is like the preacher preaching to the choir and the team is singing his praises.

with everyone showing up to camp earlier, i think that it shows alot about the type of overall "feeling" and "buzz" that everyone is getting....everyone wants this thing to get going and "Full steam ahead" and everyone wants to get that much more comfortable with the changes, new coaching staff and really get down to basics here.

i think the Team really wants to get that very essential "play to player" and "player to Coach" bond thing formed and firmly established so that they can adjust that much more comfortably with everything, you could tell by the way the players were flying around the field, the way the Coaches were really into it and the energy was evident and high, the way everyone is practicing/preparing hard........its evident that this team means business and wants to get back to its winning ways of things....

its only a matter of time

Think it's a great sign that he came, despite his contract dispute. I'm glad he wants to impress Harbaugh.

classiness? we franchised him with plans to get a long term deal done and he files a grievance just for a few hundered k. thats not classiness. a guy like todd heap restructuring his contract is classiness, doing whatever he can to help the team. thats a team player.

He hasnt signed the franchise tender,to my knowledge, so technically he's out there playing without a contract. He deserves some respect for that because he's taking a major risk by doing that.

Except that without the contract signed he can't take part in any of the on-the-field practices, all he can do is be in the meetings and watch from the sidelines. Still the fact that he was there shows that he wants to stay in Baltimore and get off to a good start with Harbaugh.

I dont think you can blame the guy for trying to get more money. If you were in that situation im sure you would be trying to get all the money you can because there careers are so short. Not going to base his character off of that. He showed up to mini camp without signing the tender to show the coaches he is dedicated even though hes not signed yet. That shows what kind of guy he is, you hear about players who get franchise tagged and hold out all the way until the regular season all the time. Just shows what kind of players we have on our team because we dont have those type of problems like most teams have.

"Just" a few hundred thousand? I know the economy sucks right now, but that's a ridiculous statement. It was a tongue-in-cheek subtitle anyway.

And I would say showing up to minicamp without a contract counts as being a team player, especially when any football-related activity has the potential to end your career.
