some kind words from Tomlin:

"It's like having a new pair of shoes; you've got to get comfortable,'' Tomlin said. "John's a good coach. I'm sure that he'll be very successful. The big thing is you surround yourself with great people, you trust your instincts and your gut.''

but during the season I expect some fightin words :)

NFLN was saying they thought Baltimore was going to win some games. It was asked in the context of which new coach was going to have the better season.

Good read. I agree about the last sentence :) it WILL now be much more TOUGHER WITH HARBAUGH here in TOWN!! WEWT WEWT.. BEWARE OF BAND WAGON FANS they WILL COME!! Hopefully CLEVELAND'S PLAY last YEAR was a FLUKE so we only need worry bout CINCINNATI and Pittsburgh mainly just PITTSBURGH.. CINCINNATI always beats us at least 1 game but they never go FAR so i guess we only need worry bout PITTSBURGH.

Cleveland's schedule was weak and Cincy has no defense. We dont have to worry about them.. This seasons schedule will bring out every teams true colors in the AFC North. None of the teams in our division have it easy.

Which is good that none of the AFC north teams have an easy schedule this year. Makes it more better for us since the Ravens will come back HEALTHY this season. I hope

Yeah..... thats why we got swept by both huh?

AFC North is the toughest division in football. Each team has a legit shot at the title, they could each win the title if they were in one of the other pathetic divisions. And i wouldn't be surprised if we ended up with the worst record in the division, its not hard to imagine considering we have the 4th hardest schedule in the NFL and a weak OL that still needs a yr or two of experience before they can protect any QB, not to mention a new coaching staff the team has to adjust to. This is going to be a tough season, we would had a decent shot at the title if we had the patriots schedule or a schedule like the saints had when they got a new coaching staff....but we don't and add to the fact we play in the afc north, its not pretty.

Yeah thats why we had injuries at corner and quarterback huh? With a healthy team, we've easily got more skill than both of those teams.. And i would rather be in the AFC North as opposed to the NFC East..

You must be joking.

what games were you watching? Our injuries didn't come till we had to play the steelers. We lost to the bengals and browns healthy. don't make excuses and face the facts. i love my team, but i am also willing to admit other teams' talent, rival or not.

NFC East, are you kidding me? I would rather be in the NFC East than any AFC division (minus the pats division). The most over rated teams reside in the NFC East, thanks to their cities. I'll give Dallas and NY credit but the other two are complete trash, especially the redskins.

to a certain degree i think that IF the Ravens hadnt of had ALL those injuries to key/vital players last season, we could have seen a completely different outcome, in terms of the way our season turned out, but the past is the past and the record stands as called....and like Harbaugh said

"You can't define a team by last year's record,Nothing you did in the past means anything. Everything can change.''

i think that what he said right there, hit it right on. in terms of this upcoming season, Noone i mean noone can say what each season will be like or turn out to be like....we cannot go out and say "this season's a bust..the next year is a success" and so on and so forth.... we dont know seeing how nothing is dead certain and set in stone.

so with that said....Harbaugh has good reason to believe that the Ravens will be able to turn everything around in both the near and far future of this team and what direction to go in.....a new season, means a fresh new start, a new beginning...a new Era of Raven Football, and everyone, i mean EVERYONE is excited about whats to come from this team as a whole......you can just feel that certain buzz around Baltimore...from the Fans, to the Players and caoches....and Ravens Staff......everyone is pumped up about the future. As a result, Players are in Ownings Mills Training much much earlier than years past, coaches are looking at film and motivating players to push themselves, there's more team comradery and everyone is pushing each other to their limits and beyond...

now if you ask me.......thats something to get excited about.

The NFC East is not trash! You gave credit where credit is due to NY and Dallas, but dont forget about Philly. Phillys not a bad team on either side of the ball. I dont think Washington is very good either. Going by the order at which the teams finished, i've got

Dallas over Pittsburgh

Giants over Cleveland

Ravens over Washington

Philly over Cincinnati

Im better off in a division with a combined record of 32-32 as opposed to one that went 40-24 with no teams under .500

I am sorry but what team were you watching. Our injuries started in the preseason when Clayton got hurt or rather the playoffs the year before when Ogden got hurt. By the time we played the Steelers they had substantially gotton worse but they had been lingering since the preseason. McNair got hurt on the second play of our first drive in the first game. Thats all so the game that Pryce and Sams went down. Heap went down against the Cardinals, which was before we played the Browns the first time.

I am not going to go as far as to say the other teams in our divison dont have playoff caliber teams but with a healthy team, the Ravens can beat any of them any day of the week. We didnt even have all our starters when we played the Patriots and Cmac played that game hurt and we still came this close to coming away with a win against what most people considered the best team in the NFL last year.

Dont fool yourselves. The AFC South is by far the hardest division in football. Indy, Jax, Tenn & Houston... How many of those were playoff teams last year? And Houston's record was 8-8....

Thats one damn good division.

I am not going to minimize their success but they played a pretty weak schedule last year. AFC West and NFC South. If you remember those are the same two division's we played when we got a 13-3 record in 2006 with relative ease.

we're not by any means necessary, trying to take anything away from any of the other divisions in the league. yes there are other divisions whom are considered to be "tough" and without question "hard to play in" but many many analysts out there have slated the AFC North Division as one of the Hardest divisions to play in....noticed how i said "one of" because im not just going to say that we have the hardest because we dont by any means.....its just based off of the way the AFC north's turnout is from year to year.
