Joe Cool Addresses The Haters

45 posts in this topic

Sorry for dredging this up, it is from week 3.
This is from KFFL.com, who is a syndicate of the fantasy football league I am in (they are very credible, else I wouldn't be posting this).

I only make this thread to make a point to the rest of the fanbase here that whether you think so or not, our voices on hear are heard by our team, for better or worse.

Now....remember all the idiots who wanted to bench Flacco after the Cincy game? Here's what he said later that weeK:

2010-09-26 11:23:16
Baltimore Ravens QB Joe Flacco has the lowest quarterback rating (41.2) after two games and has thrown a league-high five interceptions, reports Jamison Hensley, of The Baltimore Sun. Over the last week, fans have been calling for his benching in the Baltimore area. Flacco isn't dwelling on the poor showing, but he said it ticks him off how quickly the fans can turn on him. 'I'm out there playing hard. It was one game, one loss. Everybody plays bad games, and I'm going to have more bad games. But the majority of them, I'm going to play well, and I expect myself to. You've just got to bounce back, keep your head up and know that you have the ability to do that.'

I had never seen this. Wow! I watched the presser where he was saying the fans would say whatever they wanted, but still. Kinda surprises me in a good way.

I am glad to see that he cares and isn't always so "cool".

Good for him! I bet he is laughing at all of those people now, especially the ones that are saying he is the best QB in the league right.

I would just like to say that there were many of us who never took that leap after one bad game. We kept the faith. I think that is why he is Joe Cool. He realizes he will make mistakes and he has the self-confidence to know he will overcome them and do better.

That's right, many of us were much more sensible about it, but there were just as many who weren't...
but let's not bring that up, that isn't my intention.

I just want to make sure that everyone realizes:

1. Although we (the forum) are a small part of a larger community, we are a part of it nonetheless, so we should be more educated and less opinionated.
2. More importantly than that, Joe Cool has the fire burning in him that will drive him and this team to the top of the league.

What makes me laugh are the fans who haven't posted since that game but will be all over this forum the next time Joe has a sub-par game questioning whether he's the future of this team.

Welcome to internet fandom.

The reason why rational thinkers need frequent breaks from Ravens Talk.

This.

Saying basically what I wish I could say. Haha, thank you.

I don't want to make this into a Matt Ryan vs Joe, but I was listening to people saying that Matt Ryan is better because he has that fire and Joe doesn't. They don't think he is a leader. Obviously they haven't a clue what they are talking about because this shows the exact opposite.

They piss me off, and this is why. I'm sure now Flacco has it in the back of his mind that Baltimore fans are fairweather fans who will turn on him in a heartbeat. This is what unreasonable/incessant negativity does.

I won't say Ravens fans are fair-weather fans, as you have them in every city, but it certainly irks me how much criticism he gets despite being achieving so much success early in his career.

Anyone who claims one is better than the other at this point has no credibility, and not entitled to an opinion of any relevance. So ignore them (that includes anyone who says Flacco is better than Ryan).
Now, you CAN say that you believe one will EVENTUALLY be better than the other, that is fine. But as you said, if the "fire" or leadership qualities is their reasoning, then they have no leg to stand on.

EXACTLY. I am so tired of it and just so ready for it to be over already. Of course I want Joe to end up on top, but honestly I let them say what they want. It just pisses me off when outside people looking in try to tell everyone that Joe has no fire. How would you know that? Are you in the huddle during games? Are you in practices? No. So quit trying to tell us something that you have no idea about.

He's moved his family there. Settled a tent outside Troy's house.

So what does this actually have to do with anything? People have their opinions and feel the way they want to, you or I can't nor wont change the way someone feels about a player. I have said before and will say it again, before the season even started when we signed Bulger I was happy they made that deal and got a decent proven vet to back up Flacco. I also said it would or should be a motivator for Joe as well, and if it happened that Joe came into the season and basically took a drastic turn for the worse and started stinking up game, why not give Bulger the ball and see what he could do, if that was to happen. Obviously that hasn't happened and I'm glad Joe has played good and can bounce back from a crap game like the Cincy one. I don't know maybe it is good that they pay attention to what the fans think or say, but I also think they really shouldn't pay to much attention to us either. I mean who are we, were not on the field trying to do what they do, but we are the ones helping out their multi million dollar pay checks. All in all I guess it's a catch 22 lol

Couldn't have said it better...
:batteur-musicien:

I've been a believer since day one, same with Rice.

Just found this below doing some research on the 2008 draft class, it was given a B, and Rice was given a B+, Flacco an A.
I think we know Rice is an A now.

This is all about peoples opinions and what they have to say, so why you catching feelings off what I say?? You got something you want to get off your chest with me champ??? My opinion matters just as much as yours son, and that is not a whole lot!! The end!! Don't worry I'll wait......
