Merriman Leaves First Practice As A Bill

Just saw on the SportsCenter bottomline that Shawne Merriman left his first practice with a leg injury. Things just can't go right for those poor guys in Buffalo, lol.

I gotta side with the "faking it 'cause it's the Bills" argument. I get Bills games up here. Even my leg hurts if I don't change the channel.

If he really is "faking it", I respect him even less - and that's hard. He's probably not, he stands to gain nothing by faking, he should be playing for a big contract and a new deal somewhere else.

He's getting his money either way this season. I'm not a very trusting person and my first thought was that he was faking it because he did not want to risk injury taking the field for a team who's season is already over.

Well, sure, [i]this[/i] season. But, if he's smart, he's not playing for [i]this[/i] season; he should be putting some solid plays on film and some production on his stat sheet so he can nab a big deal as a FA.

No one is going to want to sign an down-trodden OLB who can't stay healthy and has, now, four sacks in three years.
