I've heard the Miami fans clamoring for this. Their OC runs an offense based on short-passing and Pennington is far more accurate than Henne, especially in the short-game. Also, Pennington is a fan favorite from his solid '08 season. Given Pennington's injury history, though, Henne could very well be back.

Stupid move dont like it at all. Pennington is washed up and his best years are behind him. Henne while he is young he is still pretty good and I think if your Sporano your best bet to make the playoffs and compete for a wildcard spot is with Chad Henne at QB not Chad Pennington...

It's funny because if they wanted to dink all the time they would've gone with Pennington earlier. Henne was suppose to be the strong arm. Pennington will do the same thing Henne is doing minus the INTs.

Probably so, their dink-and-dunk offense doesn't work against the good defenses of the league.

Frankly, I don't have a lot of faith in Sparano, anyways. He, like his team was overrated back in 2008 and it's carried through to 2010. Him mortgaging Henne's future only further solidifies that. The Dolphins are soft and I'm glad we've exposed them each of the last three times we've played them.

Agreed. If [i](and it's a big if)[/i] Pennington can play like he did a couple of years ago, he's a better fit. That said, the Dolphins offense shouldn't be feared.

Eh, I don't like the call.

Unless they plan on drafting a QB next year, Henne is their future at that position. It's not like he's terrible either, he's just growing and adjusting to the system, bad games happen, and so do bad season, not saying that this is a bad season for Henne.

He has good fundamentals and for the most part plays smart football, I don't see him as a game winner yet but that doesn't mean he can't grow into that role, just look at Flacco from this year and last year.

Agreed. The addition of Marshall was supposed to be further expand their passing game but that hasn't happened.

Pennington is so underrated. He's the most accurate passer in NFL history, I believe, and he has led his teams to the playoffs every time that he has started more than 10 games.

Says alot about their faith in Henne. if he was the QB of the future then he needs to learn to take his lumps and bounce back from adversity. I see this as a last ditch effort to squeeze into the playoffs this year. They are already behind the eight ball in a competitive AFC.

This is a rather terrible idea. The Dolphins are making this switch because they think that they can be a playoff team this year, when they should be giving Henne some time to get experienced so that they can be a serious contender in a couple of years. I love Pennington, but growing as a player means sometimes making mistakes, and if they're not willing to give Henne time to grow then they're going to need to draft another QB next year.

Also, spending big money on Brandon Marshall was a bit of a waste if they're going to start Pennington. You don't buy a Ferrari to drive around town at 35. You buy it to let loose on the highway.

Sporano won't even give him a chance to rebound from a 0-3 TD-INT ratio game. At 4-4, it's time to see just what your team is made of and how key players will respond.

On the other hand, they play the Titans defense which simply takes the ball away left and right. So if Henne slings it around like that again this week, disaster will strike the Dolphins, and even though Pennington threw 3 picks against us in the playoffs, (), he still rarely makes mistakes.

I probably would've stuck with Henne if I were Sporano, but I won't really argue with this decision.

I think the thinking is that the Dolphins still have a shot here. But if they lose to the Titans things will look very bleak. Pennington can make all the same throws as Henne except without the turnovers. So Sporano is willing to try and salvage the season by cutting out the fat.
