Another blow to a depleted Steeler offensive core.Starks suffered stingers in his neck during Pitts monday night game vs. the Bengals. The injury leaves the Steelers without both of their projected starting offensive tackles. Right tackle Willie Colon is out for the season after injuring an Achilles tendon in June. To fill the roster spot, Pittsburgh activated offensive tackle Chris Scott from the physically unable to perform list.

This a huge blow to an already thin offensive line. Im hoping they move Trai Essex over to left tackle and keep Flozell Adams at right tackle instead of starting Johnathen Scott. He has been nothing but a turnstyle when he has come into spell somebody at either left or right tackle so far this season. The Steelers have already lost Aaron Smith even though there is still a chance he could come back, and now losing a guy as valuable as Starks to this offensive line is probably the last big blow this Steelers team can afford to take. However, the injuries are what they are and they do happen every game. Nobody is going to feel sorry for the Steelers. They found a way to go 2-1 on this roadtrip without Aaron Smith, and now they are going to have to find a way to win on offense now with a revamped line. I still think this line is solid with guys like Kemoeatu,Pouncey, and Adams but losing Starks will definitely make Ben Roethlisberger more vulnerable to getting sacked...

All these injuries and setbacks just don't seem to stop them from winning, Big Ben could play with a line of rookies and still tear us a new one. Even old man Flozell was having his way with Suggs.

they couold move Flozell over to LT and put Scott at RT also
[/quote]

Apparently, he's deaf in his right ear. He's done better at RT.

Ben's not a pocket passer anyway. I say we load up with 4 run blocking guards and Pouncey and run it all day.

Wow this is a huge blow to the offensive line. I think the Steelers are lucky there isn't really a pass rusher on the Patriots defense because Ben will have time to scramble. I been working on a Mid Season 32 Team Mock Draft and this makes me want to give the Steelers a Tackle. They need offensive line help big time.

Put us down for O-Line, CB and DL.

3 weeks in a row of Steelers prime time! I actually like it because it's more entertaining when you have a rooting interest. It's crazy that possibly the best two teams are in the same division, one of them could go 13-3 or 12-4 and lose the division!

I dont mind the primetime games here the last 3 weeks but I am kind of glad that it's over after this week and the next 2 weeks the Steelers get back to normal and play 2 straight 1 o clock games at home against Oakland and then the following week at Buffalo. If either the Steelers or the Ravens are going to lose a game before they meet in their rematch in 3 weeks in Baltimore this looks like the best week that it has a chance of happening. I say this simply because I dont see the Ravens losing at Carolina or at home to Tampa Bay the following 2 weeks, and I dont see the Steelers losing at home to the Raiders or at Buffalo the following week.

With our injuries and the way the secondary has been playing, AND the fact that Oakland thinks they can beat us? Not me, I think we have two trap games in a row. Plus we have a Patriot team who, unless I'm mistaken, hasn't lost two in a row in a few years.

Not panicking, just concerned.

I know Oakland is 5-4 and they have blown out bad teams like Denver and Seattle over the last few weeks but after watching them complete only 3 passes the entire game the other day in that comeback win against the Chiefs and seeing Darren McFadden was their entire offense I am not drinking the Raiders kool-aid yet that they have turned the corner and are ready to be a playoff team. They still have QB issues with Campbell and Gradkowski and not having one clear cut starter, and they still have lost on the road to two bad teams in Arizona and San Francisco. So while the Raiders could definitely be a trap type game for the Steelers there will be no excuse what so ever to let them come into Heinz Field and win 2 years in a row.

The bottom line is the Raiders are an improved team but they are still a team that when you see them on your schedule if you are as good as the Steelers are or have the potential to be this season the Raiders are a team that you absolutely MUST beat especially when you have them in your own barn...So trap game or no trap game there will be no excuse what so ever for the Steelers not to take care of business at home against the Raiders. I will be absolutely shocked if the Raiders come in here and upset them 2 years in a row I just dont see it happening again this year...

That might not be so bad. I remember last time we went 12-4 with the second best record in the league and lost the division to a 13-3 team. That turned out pretty well :)

They shouldn't beat us, but our d-line is hurting and out secondary us suspect. They're better than they were last year when they drove down the field on us. It's possible.

But, first and foremost, we need to beat the Pats.
