Just thought I'd make this thread for anyone who likes the Caps, or really any other NHL team, to talk about them.

I love the Caps thread. Watching the game right now. Can't believe we let those two score. We should be able to come away with a win and stay atop the EC.

They need Varlamov back ASAP. Neuvirth did good, but gives up way too many early goals.

I don't know if Varlamov will ever stay healthy. I wasn't sure about Neuvirth but I think with time, he can be decent. But we'll probably have to rely on both of these guys.

Did you see that Ovie commercial where he's doing a rope exercise and they are talking about the Caps with a chip on their shoulder? That was a sick commercial.

Yes I have, it definitely is cool. The other teams have them too, but I like ours the best lol. Did you ever see the one with Ovie in the locker, it kinda disappeared a few weeks ago.

Yep. Looks like we will just have to continue outscoring teams this season. Not to bad we put up 4 goals none of which came from Ovie. Spreading the wealth. Glad to see us finally scoring goals agian, they had me worried the first few games.

Caps are going to have another lights our regular season, but we'll see if they can change the way they play the game in the playoffs. Semin honestly does more damage to you guys in the playoffs than good, shows no heart. If you guys had a Patrick Sharp/Corey Perry type of winger in Semin's place you guys would be [b]soo[/b] much better off.

Varly is made of glass, so you need to get used to Neuvirth.

I feel like we might finally get something out of Semin this year in the playoffs. We haven't offered him an extension because we want to see him produce in the playoffs. A Big playoff showing would really increase his value and he knows that. Time to show up or perhaps go.

So far he's having a fine season and seems to be playing hard every game. We'll see if that lasts.

Semin has 24 points in 28 playoff games. He wasn't as sharp in the Habs series (4 points in 7), but he had 14 points in the 14 games of the 08-09 playoffs and 8 points in the seven game series before that.

He's really not as bad of a post-season performer as people think.

Flash is the one who does a disappearing act in the playoffs (5 points in 22 games).

I know, i know, Neuvirth won rookie of the month, but I still think Varly is better. Neuvirth is just so inconsistent and it seems like everytime he starts, we give up a goal in the first ten minutes. As Pu said, looks like we'll be outscoring teams.

He's also leading our team in goals, with 9.

Well it looks like they are changing something up yet again in the NHL, the all star game is no longer East vs West, but there will be two Captains chosen who will one by one pick their team. Kind of like how you would do it if you were playing a pickup game with your buddies. It should be pretty interesting but personally I kind of liked the whole East vs West, this should mix it up a bit. It would be funny to see Crosby coming down and have Malkin steal the puck and come down and score, Or have Ovie coming down the wing only to have Mike Green lay a hip check on him haha. Should be pretty interesting.

It sounds interesting, just goes against all things sports. Every league has some sort of east vs. West type all-star game.

A lot of the goals he let in today was just flat out bad defense and fluky scores. But I agree. Can't really rely on him either. Just have to keep on scoring. Varly got regulated to Hershey. But it looks like he'll get his shot again.

I'm hoping it's only a rehab assignment that Varly is on. I almost wish we kept Theodore, because we have no veteran goaltending whatsoever. We need someone to step up for the whole year, unlike how Theodore owns during the reg. season and then Varly in the playoffs.

Not me, I'm glad the Theo experiment is done. He can play solid in the season but come the playoffs, it seems like some games he just flat out disappears.
