Wow. Didn't expect something to be done right now. Maybe they can turn it around a little bit and get more than one win this year lol

Saw it coming. I feel really bad for the guy, because his team definitely gave up on him..I guess that is kind of his fault though.

What an embarrassment for Dallas. A 45-7 blowout on national television and now Jones is going back on his word.

What took you so long, Jerry. Why did you have to hang on to the loyalty this long?

Good luck, Garrett....you're going to need it to turn THAT ship around.

Wow. The Cowboys fans that I know are screaming for Jerry Jones to hire "The Chin"

They should, then the spitting controversy would shift to Dallas instead of Baltimore..

Far over-due, IMO. JG isn't going to be much better. He hasn't called a good game all year from the OC headset....

How much play do you think Billick blowing a kiss to an opposing player would get, if it were done in Dallas?

Jon Gruden as coach of the Dallas Cowboys:

"Now you see this team here? I like this team. I call them the Dallas 'MAN-boys'."

Gruden is fired shortly after.

I can see Billick wanting to get back into coaching. But I think Gruden is really enjoying this Monday Night Football gig. Can't see him leaving it now for a high stress job. He's young, got plenty of time to get back into coaching later.

I have to agree with many of you here, this was going to happen sooner or later....it was just a matter of when.

Now if only Jerry Jones could hire someone with brains to make the personnel decisions.

He'll wait until the off-season to bring in someone else. I doubt it'll be Cowher, but I foresee serious recruiting of Chucky.

If you didn't see this coming, you must have been living under a rock. It's going to be interesting to see who the new Head Coach will be. This morning I remember JLC was on NFL Network saying how Jerry may get a "patch" head coach for now because the big fish that he may want are still coaching. He specifically said... Jeff Fisher & Sean Payton whose contracts are up after 2011. I thought that was the dumbest thing JLC has ever said since he took over Schefter's role on NFL Network. No way the Saints will let Payton walk after them winning the Super Bowl and I highly doubt the Titans will let Jeff Fisher walk either.

I could see Billick doing it.... but not sure. I would say Bill Cowher since he is a big name coach would fit what Jerry wants in a Head Coach.

Jerry Jones is too involved on the sidelines with the Cowboys and has no business sticking his nose in on the team like he does all the time.. An owner conducting press conferences after games as much as he does is quite ridiculous and embarrassing if you ask me. He is quite disgusting to watch and is a big big reason I feel the Cowboys are where they are at this point. Quit trying to coach the team Jerry and stay up in the owners box where you belong...

That's the main issue... Jerry Jones. He is the Owner & GM so of course he isn't going to fire himself. If he could get a real GM and stay in the owners box I think the Cowboys would actually win games and actually have a shot in the playoffs.

I'm going to play GM and come up with things I would do with the Cowboys roster. I'll have a very interesting list, let's just say I would clean house in Dallas, I'll post the list once I come up with it.

I guess Carolina is going to have to fight for Bill Cowher now... I was pretty sure Bill Cowher would end up in Carolina but now I think he may end up in Dallas. The Bidding war begins... who wants Cowher more, Dallas or Carolina?

Wow... Jason Garrett hasn't had the Head Coaching job for 24 hours & there is already reports the players do not like Jason Garrett.
Breer reports that he hears a majority of the players in the locker room "don't like [Garrett] at all."

EXACTLY!!!

Wade Phillips could not fire Jason Garrett like most coaches and GMs can do because he was Jerry Jones' boy

How could anything change with that horrible offense when Phillips' hands were tied?

Honestly, I don't really see the point in firing Wade at this point in time. Let's face it, after the injury to Romo, the Cowboys' players have just seemed disinterested and appear to have given up on games. Due to that, the season is essentially over for Dallas, competition-wise. The team's going to go through the motions in their final eight games, and a mid-season coaching change isn't going to solve or change anything. Oh well, guess Garrett finally gets his shot at head coaching after we went with Harbs over him.

The point would be to give Garrett a shot to see if he can get the players to respond during the last 8 games of the season. That way Jerry can assess if he wants to give Garrett a chance or if they should head in another direction.

Jerry is only being far to Garrett here, because the obvious answer would be an overhaul on the coaching staff.

This isn't a coaching change to improve their outlook on the season but to assess.

HAHA! Those are funny pictures. You know the sad part, Wade seems like a likable guy. He needs to cheer up... and stop being sad, he'll find a job as a DC somewhere in the league.
