Will be EVER Stop! Jeesh! Does He NEED to STOP? You are some pretty bright people, please let me know what YOU think about this.

Am I overly concerned about nothing? My prediction is that this is gonna cost us a game someday.

Reed will never stop trying to extend a play, we all learned this years and years ago. That's Ed, take him or leave him. He's not gonna stop, and it's futile to think he is. That's how he plays, and we can either take the good with the bad or just not have him at all. Apparently the Ravens franchise is willing to take the risk. It works out way more than it doesn't so..?

But havent the coaches demanded that he stop this? Does he have the authority to do what ever he wants? What if other players begin to do their undisciplined acts too?

Every time he has the ball in his hands he's thinking House, and will do whatever it takes to get there unless it's clear he has no chance. Only then will he go down. Not always a bad thing, but then again not always a good thing.

I'm sure the coaches have talked to him about it but again, that's the way he plays.

I don't see what "undisciplined acts" other players could do because Ed likes to lateral INTs.

Yup, he does have the authority. Unless every other player demonstrates the HOF quality that Reed does, they're probably screwed on the whole undisciplined thing. Reed has EARNED the latitude he's given, so your question is quite moot. Reed has three INTs in two games, while the rest of the team has four INTs over six games. Pfft, let's give Ed some space.

It makes the game exciting to me. But today I saw him look back to lateral, and screamed " No Ed!!!"

Thats Ed Reed. Great player. Great Instinct. And always looking for the edge, with laterals or jumping routes. I love watching Ed Reed play.

I just remember us forcing them to punt after Flaccos INT then Reed got too crazy on the return. Odds were still against us, but it did ruin a chance. I don't even think he tried to lateral it, he just holds the ball like hes flapping his wings!

Reed? You don't put wraps on a HOF... I have the utmost confidence in reed. I remember soundfx on NFL network from last years playoff win in foxboro, harbaugh was yelling like no Ed when he was gone pitch the ball back to ray after the INT. So yeah they know, but reed is reed as Jimmy Johnson said there different sets of rules for superstar players, they have more leeway.

He did try to lateral the ball. I clearly remember him trying to toss it to the player behind him as he was getting tackled.

I'm sure after every game in film study, he gets it pointed out to secure the football. But It's just Reed, its frustrating at time yes. But when he has the ball in his hands , the part of the brain that controls lateral passes sparks up.

I use to want it to stop, but I've just come to realize, that'll never happen.

Maybe that's the right attitude, but for some reason I get a sick image in my mind unfolding as I see him begin that windup motion. I am just afraid it will cost us a game someday if he doesnt stop it and it really is not even necessary most of the time.

Yeah, he's gotta be smarter. We've all accepted Reed's risk taking, but in that situation, he has got to hold on to it. He tries to force it a little bit, you could see him expose the ball before he saw anyone open to lateral to.

I know how you feel. I felt the same way today. I was like "what the hell" Reed. He's got a bear hug going on, being twisted around and he is holding the football out ripe for the who-knows-what. I still get frustrated but it seems to be a lost cause at this point in his career.

No, I said "regular person" so it means an average Joe who have collar job or whatever delivers outside of hollywood lives. Do you feel secured to have her although she is loyal to her vows? it is just like another funny movie she's out of my league, but the ending is not really in reality.

I know he's the man, I'm just saying keep the ball secure until you actually decide in your mind to lateral. Don't hold it out there as you think about it, it just looked strange. I think he underestimates the ability of offensive players to take back the ball after an interception.

The question popped in my mind recently. Dont get me wrong, I have learned to love John Harbaugh, but would he do this if he was playing for Bill Bellichek or Bill Parcells? I don't think so. No player should be more important than the team and I am a little embarrased for the coaches because they deserve better.

How is Ed making himself more important than the team? By looking to lateral the ball and get extra yardage for the team? Come on dude.

Ed would do it if he played for Lombardi as well as the coaches you named and more than likely any coach that was coaching him. That's how he plays the game, it's his instinct to keep the play going and try to score. When you have done everything that he has done so far in his career, you tend to more than likely say something to him but know he is going to play the way he plays! Yeah kind of messed up but not every safety is Ed Reed or has his talent. Likw another person said, it also use to make me mad as well but hey he will always make more positive plays than negative ones!
