Not too worried because I'm confident in Webb's ability and Roddy hurt himself this past Sunday...and 3 days is not enough to just come back from an injury like it didn't even happen.

You might be right, but I heard that they're saying it's just a bruise. However, anything that causes him to lose half a step is good for Baltimore.

The coaching staff would be nuts to let Fabian cover Roddy White. I'm not sure what his role will be this week, but I think he'd contribute the most on the bench until he learns to cover and tackle...because he currently can't do either one.

Carr and Webb should start, Wilson is a ballhawk but we still don't know if he can blanket a starter.
Yup, this is what I'd like to see as well. The way that White has been performing this year I would lock Reed onto Roddy over-top the entire game. You know he is going to get his catches because he targets him like 12 or 15 times a game(something ridiculous) so I figure try to force the issue and make Ryan make some mistakes. Make them use the running game to beat us.

Ummm, you think Carr can "blanket a starter?"

I generally tend to agree, but Wilson did a heck of a job on Marshall in the second half Sunday, watch the tape. No reason to think he wouldn't be up taking Roddy out of the game.

White is too good a reciever to get taken out of the game he will get his catchs but i believe Wilson would be better than Washington. Washington has been a liablity the last few weeks an thats something we cant afford tomorrow.

Facepalm. So in order to attempt to stage a comeback, it always means that a comeback possible? You've never seen a team constantly throw the ball when down by an insurmountable lead? It's called pride. Pride was the reason Henne, Bess and Marshall were out there, in hopes of amending their performances by scoring a TD. But fair enough, if two starting units are on the field and one player makes a solid play, it's obviously irrelevant. Check the stats. Fabian has never had an INT against the Chiefs. He actually gave up a 50 yard reception to Mark Bradley in the game last year. In fact, he has forced a measly 1 turnover with us in the last 3 Seasons. You brought up one impressive game, compared to numerous sub-par performances. The difference between Carr and Fabian is that Carr has been consistent during every game. Washington has been up and down every week. Unforgiving? I'm sorry. He's been an average CB for only several Seasons. Should we give him 2 more years as the starter?
Fair enough. And yes, I stand by my statement that 'staging' a comeback would be much more plausible if said comeback was possible, so I'm not sure what you're trying to say there. I'm not downplaying the way the Dolphins didn't quit; on the contrary, it was admirable. That doesn't mean it wasn't in vain. I never said Wilson's INT was irrelevant, but only that it didn't mean that it was the awesome, awe-inspiring play some fans seem to think it was. Wilson hasn't recorded 50 snaps in a row with the Ravens..but he's *obviously* a billion times better than Fabs..even though it's obvious the FO didn't think so. When did I mention Carr?

Oh, when I remarked that Carr was immediately thrown under the bus by (at least) this board for the first half of his first season with us? Sorry bud, but it's true. He wasn't playing horribly, but was still gelling with the defense at that time and was looking uncomfortable. We were quite ready to get his butt off the team in favor of (well, the detractors never actually mentioned who) because he was sooooo horrible, even though he wasn't playing that bad. This reminds me of that, which is why I mentioned it. Carr has been pretty consistent THIS YEAR. If you'll notice, I mentioned that Carr WASN'T consistent last year when he arrived over the first half of the season. I did mention that in the post you are referring to.

As I've said multiple times, I'm all in favor of the FO wanting to start Wilson to see what he can do, as others have said he has earned it. I'm just not a fan of saying Fabs 'sucks' and is 'horribad' when he's been quite adequate with us for the past couple years and certainly hasn't been the only DB to make plenty of mistakes with us.

Maybe the whole argument isn't being understood. Here it is: I agree Fabs isn't playing good ball right now. I agree that Wilson, in his second half placements, has been playing good ball. I am glad he's getting the nod (as far as it's being reported) for this Thursday. I don't agree with Fabs being labeled as crap when he's played adequate ball for entire games (not just a couple quarters a game) for a few years here. I don't recall many 'bench Fabian' posts when him and Foxy were starting opposite each other unless it was a call for both of their heads to let Webb take either one of their spots. I also recall plenty of 'Carr sucks' posts..and yet we're almost ready to hold a parade for Chris now. Maybe my post should just read, 'Hindsight'.

I'm trying to say that the Dolphins put as much effort into reaching the end zone on that drive as they did into every other drive up to that point. You have been downplaying the Dolphins effort with Wilson in the lineup. Nowhere in any of your last posts did you even hint that Wilson's INT was remotely worthy of praise. Of course Carr was thrown under the bus last Season. He performed poorly, and I criticized him as well. Wherein did I attempt to argue that he wasn't scrutinized last Season? But his ceiling was never evident. He was an Undrafted player who was adjusting to a starting role. Fabian was a 1st Round talent. He has seen significant time for the last 5 years. This is as good as it gets. You probably don't recall as many of those threads because he tore his ACL after a little more than half of the Season, and after Foxworth's improvement, people were hopeful to see Foxworth and Webb side by side.

THIS YEAR included the Bills and Dolphins game, as well as the Steelers game, where he set up both of the opposing TDs after getting beat by Antwaan Randle El. So 3 games out of 6 equals consistence? Because Wilson obviously hasn't recorded countless snaps with the Seahawks, who haven't had a pass rush in his entire presence there. He wouldn't know anything about starting an entire game. Nevermind having to cover WRs for an extended period of time. And we can definitely attribute his success to the other team having completely no endurance, given that they're tired when the second half begins. How can you agree that Wilson has been playing good football? Your initial argument began with, "He's done what?" I forgot that his career merely began when he joined the Ravens.

I thought Wilson was on their other receiver, Davone Bess? The couple of times Henne threw Wilson's way, I saw Bess getting shut down. Webb was on Marshall, at least from what I saw.

Not discrediting Wilson, because Bess was lighting Fabian up for some good gains.

There was at least one play where Wilson was matched up on Marshall and Josh got in perfect positioned and turned his head to find the ball and avoid the PI flag.

That play was so close to being called a PI. Last year that would've been a flag for sure with our guys never knowing where the ball is.

It's amazing how the loss of just one player(we all know who he is) can change the perception of Ravens DBs and how frequently they get called.

So glad to be rid of aforementioned player! Actually, both of them! Corey Ivy was dreadful but he looked pretty good next to Frank Walker.

To think, both of those guys might have started in the Super Bowl had it not been for a bonehead penalty.

It would have been glorious.

But staying on topic, I'm interested to see how much Fabian sees the field tonight. He was terrible against the Bills and not much better against the Dolphins but the guy was in Asomugha mode against the Broncos so it's not like he can't play well.

Washington isnt terrible he just lacks the tackling skills to be effective. I know hes coming off that ACL injury so i would assume that hes going to exercise caution but come on hes been beat bad the last few weeks.

They play that had me PO was when he bit on a play fake into the endzone an left his man wide open when we faced the dolphins.
