I don't understand how Chris Carr still has admirers. Before they picked on Fabian yesterday, they were picking on Chris Carr. And any smart QB such as a Manning or Brady would go to Carr's guy every time they needed to convert a 3rd down.

I completely understand the frustration with Fabian. He is not playing well at all. It's like he felt his job was safe because the rest of the secondary was in such bad shape. Then when Webb came back from injury and Wilson was signed... he got caught unprepared.

Either way... the Packers are expected to release Al Harris. I have a feeling the Ravens might make him an offer. It won't be for more than the minimum, but he might like to play for the #1 team in the AFC!

After the season... I have a feeling that either Washington or Carr will be gone.

I think he needs some time to reassess and just shore some things up. These things happen. CBs are a high commodity in the defense, especially when you're covering big time receivers, which every team pretty much has. It's just basic technique and I know he can shake this off.

I think Fabian is done as a starter for sure. He's proven multiple times over that he can't hang with the best WRs in the league. Webb, Wilson, and even Carr have played better on a whole. I expect to see Wilson starting next game as the Atlanta WR corps is pretty darn good with Roddy White and Tony Gonzalez. I expect to still see Fabian in nickel/dime packages though.

We arwe deep at coner back depth....If you can keep Fabian for a cheaper contract why not? He has been a starter in the nfl for a few years....I mean he has had a few bad games but who doesnt? he is a above average player

Now if you want to talk horrable FRANK WALKER!

Lloyd beat Carr off the line thats why he scored on Landry, Carr gave up 2 Huge plays against the patriots on their final drive to get them in FG range... like it or not webb has been are best corner all year..
Landry was the deep coverage and got caught flat footed. That TD was on him.

Fabian was essentially the one who told Harbs he sucked against the Bills and
that was te reason he was taken out. I'm not sure of the reason for his
benching this week but Wilson played well in his place. Farbes has played well
early and so is worthy of more playing time. Wilson is learning our system and
is getting better as he goes on. Regardless of who plays, there is a good
player waiting to go in if needed. As Harbs has stated, he doesn't believe in the
term "starter". He looks at who is doing well in practice, the game plan, the
team we're playing and mkes his decision on who to make inactive. So Fabes wll
start and Wilson will start.

Josh Wilson stepped up and is playing much better right now and gives us the best chance to win. Fabian was worth the 4th round pick we spent on him, but he's not the answer at CB right now.

Its going to be Washington, Carr has more versatility, Carr is a players rep and is articulate. All things Harbaugh likes. Not only that hes outplayed Washington all season like it or not. And most QBs goto the nickel coverage or TE on 3rd downs over the middle of the field.

Does anybody else think if Fabian put on some weight and worked solely on his balance he could be a shutdown corner?

He seems to get pushed around by larger receivers, and once they beat him he cant keep his weight in check. It sucks because he is so fast...

Some extra muscle would help Fabian but the man just doesn't seem to have the aggressiveness and certainly not the physicality to be a shutdown CB.

Let's make it simple. He can't cover. He can't tackle. He can't catch. I understand why he keeps getting chances, but I think today was enough. Josh Wilson made a few great plays, including the interception, so to me he should be in Fabian's spot. Usually it means something when you get benched at halftime of two straight games.

+He didn't come through on his "vow" to come back much better than last game. Fail. Shame Fabian, shame.
How much longer are we just gonna call for the heads of our players after a couple of bad games. #1 it happens to almost everyone. Nobody is perfect. we did the same thing to Joe after the Jets and Bengals game. Some of us wanted him benched. But now look at him. He is on fire....

I though we would have a little more patience with our team. REMEBER- its not how you start, its how you finish.

I get it, maybe I'm just dumb. But how does Wilson's play (two games in which he wasn't starting) earned him a starting spot? He's done what? He broke up a play, he made a garbage time pick and what else? You're all just clinging to the guy that 'didn't ****** up the most'. That's it. If Kyle had been in all game, I'm positive he would've been mixed up and let up some touchdowns, and the reason I am is because obviously the coaches were which is why he wasn't the starter.
Garbage time? Josh Wilson beat Davone Bess, the Dolphins starting WR who has more receptions than Andre Johnson, Larry Fitzgerald and Wes Welker, for the INT. Was it Chad Pennington throwing the ball? No. It was Chad Henne. I wasn't aware that the entire starting lineup is involved in garbage time. You speak of Fabian as if he was amazing last Season, and as if Josh Wilson doesn't have any starting experience. Washington wasn't benched AFTER 2 games, he was benched during them. And when exactly was everybody praising him? Foxworth was praised for his improvement during the latter part if last Season. The only time Fabe's name came up then, was when somebody complained of a CB slipping, which is still an issue with him. He just isn't consistent enough to start. The only reason Wilson has been eased into the Defense is because he was traded so close to the Season. Let's see what he's capable of in the limelight.

I think that a lot of us are still tantalized by Fabe's magnificent 2008 season. But last year, he played awful, then got hurt.It isn't because he had two bad games that some people dont want him starting. It's because he seems to be regressing to last year's form, and no one here wants a repeat of that.We have a couple guys (webb and wilson) who showed tons of potential last year, and have played pretty well this season, so I think that this game against Atlanta should be Fabian's final opportunity to redeem himself before we make a switch.

True, and I wouldn't want him completely out of the lineup. It's just depressing that his downfall, no pun intended, remains the same flaw. He seems completely uncomfortable when adjusting to double moves. This, in my opinion, is mainly because he doesn't keep his hips square through the entire process of backpedaling. For example, he usually turns up-field the moment WRs fake the 9 route, allowing them to catch him out of position when turning back for the hitch, and vice versa. As one of the fastest CBs in the league, he should have more confidence in avoiding turning his hips until his opponent breaks into the actual route, because he's likely to be able to run stride for stride with whoever it is. Maybe this will be a good opportunity to look at what he'd doing wrong and correcting his mistakes. If he could just get a better handle on his fundamentals, he could be a quality starter.

Offense and defense are two different things. Obviously Joe lost that game with 4 ints, but at least you have a running game to lean onto if the passing game goes bad. We have 2 of the best RB's in the league that can do damage, although you never want to become one dimensional. Anyhow, it's hard to have patience with a guy who consistently gets beat because he isn't physical enough. Joe had ONE bad game. Fabian has been hit or miss for most of his time with the Ravens, and idk what you were watching, but Wilson earned his playing time and should stay there. I'm not giving up on Fabe, he just needs to get better.

It was garbage time because the game was wrapped up handily by the time the pick was made. I'm not sure what benching you're talking about. Everyone was praising Fabs at the same time everyone was calling Foxy 'Foxworth-less'..you see, I was actually here posting when all that was going on. Also, during the time Fabs was slipping all over the place, so was Foxworth..so much so that on many occasions people were asking if those two were sharing cleats. The problem is that as usual, people see a guy messing up, see another guy not messing up through a few quarters and immediately want a switch. Like I said, I'm not 'down' on Josh or high on Fabs, but I do believe in not condemning a guy for one horribly played game and another game in which he was certainly adequate but for one slip on a fake in which the entire defense bit on. I'm sure Josh will be fine in the limelight, and I can't wait to see what Harbs does this week. Maybe I have the same problem as Harbs, too loyal! Although I was super relieved when we finally let go of Frank Walker..no attachment there!

yeah def keep using him. Wouldn't mind seeing Fabe being used some blitz packages, and maybe even see what he's got as a return man. He could have a pretty big effect on the pass rush if used properly.

Tell me...if the opposing team is heavily relying on the pass to force a comeback, the CBs aren't tested in the process? Nobody was praising Fabian. Some examples. You don't remember how he was ripped for giving up a 66 yard play to Pierre Garcon on one of the beginning plays of the 1st Colts game? Perhaps the San Diego game wasn't on of his shining moments? Or how he was benched against the Vikings...for Frank Walker? Both CBs were under heavy scrutiny, on good reason. Only one of them improved that year. Fabian was not adequate on Sunday. Did you happen to miss the play where he left Bess completely uncovered, and allowed him to get to the 1 yard line? Fortunately, our strong play kept them out of the end zone. Washington is an average CB. Is that saying that Josh Wilson is that much better? Only time will tell. But he's playing with a lot more confidence right now.

Here we go again. Carr doesn't suck dude. As I proved last night, he's been the team's most consistent CB. Mike Preston(someone who actually covers the team, unlike you) expressed the same thoughts in his report card for yesterday's game and on the radio today.

I've been trying to defend Carr ever since last year. Dude can play and is seriously one of the most underrated players in the entire league. I don't get how people don't see it.
