Then how do you help a struggling DB?
How do you help a struggling slugging first baseman? You keep him out there, you give him support, and you make him feel as normal as possible so he's in the frame of mind to get back on the horse. You DON'T bench him after two games. That's all I'm saying. Hey, I'm all for Josh getting more time. And if Harbaugh and Co. think it's best to start him, then I'll be all for it. I just don't like hating on a guy that was literally a guy we were all praising a year before. Everyone gets on a bad track every once in awhile. It's just bad to see that we're so quick to hate on him and jump on a guys wagon who has gotten a garbage time INT and not much else.

Point is, Fabian is not a bad cornerback. At all. He is just not consistent or ever actually good on #1 receivers. Being on Marshall was an obvious mismatch in the Phins' favor. But if Wilson takes over his starting job then Fabian would probably play a lot of nickle, and some #2 CB. And there he would do just fine. Better than fine.

That's a better way to put it. What I meant was, he was a step slow, and was late getting to some throws, but all it took was the bye week to eliminate that. I'm not ready to give up on Fabe COMPLETELY; just for the time being. I think he needs to do as Wilson did, let him get some time and figure himself out. Get him in a few plays here or there, but I think Wilson has played well enough to take his spot.
Well, I can't argue with that. Give Wilson the majority of the plays and see how he does, is that what you're saying? Hey, let's do it! Maybe Josh will become a hidden gem! I'm just saying not to say Fabs is bad because of a couple plays in a couple games. I just don't like throwing a guy under the bus who's been pretty consistent like that.

I don't think he played terrible today, but he didn't play up to the level of a starting cornerback. Wilson's recent play has to earn him the starting spot, I believe, and there's nothing wrong with that. Having Fabian as a nickel sounds good to me

I think mattison should be sending him on blitzes occasionally.Fabian is very inconsistent. Its not just his injury, he was inconsistent before he got hurt.I think its time for Webb to take over for him.

I get it, maybe I'm just dumb. But how does Wilson's play (two games in which he wasn't starting) earned him a starting spot? He's done what? He broke up a play, he made a garbage time pick and what else? You're all just clinging to the guy that 'didn't ****** up the most'. That's it. If Kyle had been in all game, I'm positive he would've been mixed up and let up some touchdowns, and the reason I am is because obviously the coaches were which is why he wasn't the starter.

Pointing out that a guy has struggled isn't "hating on" him. He struggled mightily against the Bills and failed to make some plays today.

Wilson's garbage time INT is one more than Fabian has this year despite being significantly less snaps. But that interception aside, we've seen him flash good tackling skills before and he was in perfect position on a deep ball to Marshall.

That's terrible logic. Firstly, you have no idea how Josh would have performed had he played Fabian's snaps. Secondly, Fabian earned the starting job throughout training camp whereas Wilson was traded for just before the season began so it's unlikely was going to supplant Fabian in 9 weeks.

All well and good in baseball when you have 100 or so games. We only have 8 remaining. We can't afford to have him out there getting beat for TDs.

normally, I'd agree with this point, but with Fabes...he plays like a stud for a month, goes into a funk for a few weeks, plays well, has a bad game or two, and so on...
I think what people want is stability at the position. Like Carr for example. Not a pro bowler by any means, but plays very well week after week, and rarely gives up big plays.

Wilson showed a lot of potential last season in Seattle, and played well when given a chance with us, so I can understand people calling for him.
Personally I would rather have Webb in there than either one, but I do agree that if fabes has another bad performance on thursday night, then we need to make a switch.,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,

You are wrong sir. Carr has been this team's most consistent CB this year.

Webb had a rough game against the Pats and got beat for a long TD against the Bills in addition to missing several tackles.

Can you recall a single game where Carr was continuously victimized or missed several tackles? It hasn't happened because he's been solid all year.

Nope, that would be Carr. Tell me how Webb has been most consistent when he isn't even starting for us, and has given up more plays than Carr

I'm not sure what your first statement means so I'll leave it alone.

I think most fans would say Webb is a better player but Carr has started from Week 1 and been solid. Webb has made some big plays as we saw against the Steelers game and today, but he's also been victimized in two games too. He's also given up two TDs this season as opposed to Carr, who hasn't given up one.

Again, you're wrong.

Fabian gave up three TDs against the Bills while Lardarius gave up on. Deion Barch beat Webb for a TD against the Pats after Brady ran around for around 6 seconds. NE's other TD came on a run. Against the Broncos, Lloyd beat Landry for a TD and then beat Wilson in garbage time.

Carr has not surrendered a TD this season.

Lloyd beat Carr off the line thats why he scored on Landry, Carr gave up 2 Huge plays against the patriots on their final drive to get them in FG range... like it or not webb has been are best corner all year..

LOL! More lies...

Fabian was the one lined up over Lloyd on his first TD and the Ravens ran a cover 2. Once Lloyd left Fabian's zone and got deep, it was Landry's responsibility to cover him.

Against NE, Carr was in the vicinity on only one play during the Patriots' final drive and he made the stop.

Webb hasn't been the best CB all year.

EDIT: After reviewing the highlights, I was wrong and did in fact get beat for a first down by Branch. Still, it doesn't change the fact he's hasn't allowed a TD all year or that has been a steady performer.

Josh Wilson played really well today, and he has in pretty much every game he has been in.
I like Fabian a lot, but he's not consistent.
I wonder if the reason he isn't getting many kickoff return chances is because they know he'll be more important than Washington, and don't want to risk hurting him.
In one day of returning, he averaged the best of what we had.
We'll see.

With his last two performances plus the good play by Josh Wilson yesterday,

I certainly do hope so. He didn't recover from his Fitzpatrick/Evans shellacking well at all.

Remember that Ryan Fitzpatrick isn't some Peyton Manning. Ok, Fabe got beat once. But three times? On relatively the same play! Buffalo has had a QB circus for a few years now, and they finally gave Fitzpatrick a chance. Gotta do better than that.

I remember Washing constantly slipping or being on the ground all the time last season. It doesn't happen once or twice, it's more like 7 or 8 times a game. I was very pleased with the way Wilson filled in and going forward I hope he improved and holds onto the starting spot. To slip and fall or over commit consistenly when the ball throw you way to me is lack of preparation or poor fundamental skills.
