Let's make it simple. He can't cover. He can't tackle. He can't catch. I understand why he keeps getting chances, but I think today was enough. Josh Wilson made a few great plays, including the interception, so to me he should be in Fabian's spot. Usually it means something when you get benched at halftime of two straight games.

+He didn't come through on his "vow" to come back much better than last game. Fail. Shame Fabian, shame.

I dont know about "done" as in cut. I think that is quite drastic.
I do think Wilson will be getting a lot more play time though.

I didn't exactly mean "cut". But he should be keeping the bench warm for the guys that can play their positions.

People forget that he was a huge part of are defense early in the year. He was playing lights out now he has had 2 bad games... IMO i think he deserves another shot you can tell he wants to be out there and be a Raven.

Nothing against the guy. He's a cool dude in person, its just that through the last two games when he does bad, the one that comes in for him steps up and makes the plays. It's hard to watch when a guy catches a pass 5 yards from the end zone, and Fabe is just turning around as he catches it. Or misses a tackle that results in a big game.

I think every player wants to be a bigger part of the offense/defense and be a part of of this team but In consecutive games now, Fabian has been worked over, benched and seen his replacement, Wilson, outplay him.

Wilson looks to be the better player and should see more snaps.

I've never been a big fan of Fabes, but you are right. The guy is still coming back from a major knee injury. We as fans just need somebody to dump on after every game. One week it's Cam, next Mattison, Flacco, Suggs, Carr, now that guy is Fabes.

He'll probably come back and get some big games for us, and we'll move on to the next person with the mob.

But his last two games have been horrible, that's a fact. He needs to man up.

He didn't have a bad game. It was just one drive and one slip that cost him. He had an okay game. Plus it wasn't like he had to guard jello...

I just don't know about Washington. He has the speed and he is usually right there with his man. He just does not know how to play the ball and misses the tackle on the receiver after the catch more often than he makes it. Until he proves he can play first string ball, he needs to be warming the bench and used as a situational CB.

I agree with the part about just coming back from knee surgery and all, but Webb is coming back from the same exact injury, and came back in less time too. The main thing is, Webb has for the most part played a lot better than Fabian. Chris Carr has been doing a great job too, and Wilson proved what he can do today. I seriously doubt we'll be seeing a lot of Fabian in the next few weeks.

No doubt Webb is the better player. He was proving that as a rookie when they were both healthy. But he's had his lapses too. Different players come back from injuries differently. You can tell Fabes lacks the get-go speed. That's what his game is based on. Webb is more physical.

It seems like Fabian falls down a lot.
Foxworth use to have that problem a lot too. I hate seeing CBs fall consistently.

Keeps getting beat! Benched? We can do better! Not my decesion, but leaning to we can do better, and spend the money more wisely. Personanaly, that's why we pay Oz and Eric and all I do is blog!

Definitely. I admit I can't hate on one guy for missing tackles, because most of our players do have that problem, but watching Fabe fall down or have his back turned when his man catches the ball just makes the fact even more irritating.

Well he is only on a 1 year contract. But we'll have to access where Foxworth is in his recovery. If we can get Fabes back for cheap, I'd be for it. I've never been a fan of the guy. But I wouldn't mind him playing a backup role with a cheaper contract.

Except he CAN do all those things, and has before..he's just not doing it right now. Josh Wilson had a wonderful game today, he's coming along great. Do you know why? Because the coaches are giving him spurts at a time in games to work on whatever it is they see that we don't that deems him unable to be a full starter. It's obviously working, so why ruin a good thing? Fabs has his breakdowns, but that's Fabs. Love him or hate him, he's made some absolutely outstanding plays and then he's made some absolutely dismal ones. I'd rather stick with him for at least another game, let Josh get another couple of practices in, get some gametime in, and then if it's determined he's better, throw him in there. The Ravens have always been very good about not throwing guys in that aren't fully acclimated to the Ravens' systems unless their backs are to the wall. It's worked out well for us in the past and in the present, so I see no need to rock the boat. But Josh did play most excellently, didn't he?!

Completely forgot about Foxworth.
You can't forget about him, he's only in year 2 of his 4 year deal. So we'll still have him around for another 2.

Unless Wilson starts getting torched and misses every tackle, I don't see why Washington should be in the starting line-up.

Heck, I think Carr is even more fundamental. Webb>Wilson>Carr>Maybe Washington

I'd bring him back, if he comes for real cheap, but even then, I think we have enough depth to go on without Washington.

I agree. When Josh gets the starting nod, and gets torched and misses tackles we should totally abandon him as well. *I apologize, I had a recent discussion on this board about sarcasm, and I feel I should point out that that first sentence was sarcastic.* Every CB gets torched and misses tackles. That's football. Washington's the starter because he hasn't just been getting beat every play and missing every tackle..that's just what's been going on for the past two games. Ray missed at least three tackles today that led to extra yardage..are we going to put him on the bench as well? I know that's an extreme example, but come on! Fabs has put his time in here and deserves a couple shots to prove why he's a starter..if he continues to mess up, then I certainly agree with benching his butt and throwing a rookie in there. But that's a big decision for coaches to make and I can't fault them for not doing it sooner.

Wilson was traded for just before the season began so he was still getting familiar with the playbook. Plus, Fabian had played relatively well up until the Bills game.

I felt really bad for the guy, especially since he ended last year pretty strong and apparently had a very productive offseason. Sounds like his recovery is going along smoothly and hopefully he can be effective again. Can't believe I forgot him, and I'm going to be partial toward Wilson and Foxy as long as they're Ravens, since I saw A LOT of them at UMD a few years back.

The coaches just need to ask themselves...who do they want to be covering Roddy White this year. Josh Wilson or Fabian Washington.

I was! He's a four year man, yes? That's what I get for listening to the announcers. Thank you for pointing this oversight in my post out to me. Sincerely.

I cant believe some people are actually defending fabe. He's played horrible way more than just the last two games. He is just simply not a good corner. There was a reason Oakland gave him away. They prolly chuckled when Baltimore wanted him.
