Crowder Accusing McClain Of Spitting In His Face

292 posts in this topic

I know right. Dansby said " Hopefully, Roger Goodell will look at the film and he'll do something about it. If he don't, we'll see him in the street and we'll have to handle it."

Wow really? Stop talkin Crap! Problem solved!

I'm a big fan of Leron and even though Crowder is stupid. If it's a spitting and i think it is, Leron is to blame too, he's been acting like a thug for a couple of games, spitting is even worst than fighting IMO. I just hope Roger won't suspend him !
I AGREE 100% after watching the video. I think he did spit on him and I don't care what anyone says to you, you don't spit in someone's face. If true, LeRon is a hothead and needs a good talking to. The PF penalty against the Ravens and now this. Not a good look for him or the Ravens' organization.

that is a good point. No one is touching on the threats made. Ok yeah McClain spit in dudes face but these guys talking about doing harm to him?
It's all talk, still doesn't justify intentionally spitting on someone.

I wouldn't doubt that Le'Ron spit in his face, but then again this is Channing Crowder, and anytime you have a loudmouth like him, who was talkin all this ish before the game, and then the guy loses handily, of course he is going to respond by talking more ish and accusing people of doing this and that. He doesn't know when to shut up. As a Raven fan of course I will side with McClain, but who knows, he might've done it.

In other news, anyone catch that hilarious quote by Dansby saying that Ray Rice didn't do anything?! LOL!!! Idiots

There isn't irrefutable visual evidence to support Chowder's claim. I call shenanigans and sour grapes.

Man, I've seen people so mad and yelling so loud spit just flies out of the mouth. He either really spit, or was emphasizing one final word before he walked away and spit flew out. I think its the latter but its impossible to tell. Move on already.

Are you....serious? :34853_brickwall:

You're taking the claims of the possible violator as absolute proof? My faith in anything you say anymore is undeniably, unquestionably, shattered.

In order to come up with the best judgement on this situation, we'd need to educate ourselves about the "art" of spitting in somebody's face. In this case, the most notable variables to look at are the head movement and the chin.

This link contains upsetting language, so if you have a problem with it I suggest not clicking it; it was the best video I could find. Wait for it to buffer (because I don't think anybody wants to listen to anything remotely related to Big Brother...I hope  ) Move straight to 2:28 and watch the physical action of the man spitting in the victim's face. Look familiar? LINK

The head jerks forward, the chin thrusts upward (according to Microexpressions scientist Paul Ekman, indicates anger, which is understandable in this action), which mirrors the exact motions of McClain. From this perspective, it looks more likely that McClain did spit on Crowder. And guys, regardless of the character of the victim, there is a very little chance McClain had anything to say that would make Crowder want to blow through two-three of our players to hurt him. And did anybody ask the question as to why McClain turned away so quickly after, according to him, the end to his "smacktalk". I call serious BS, even a "Yo Momma" joke wouldn't have prompted such an outburst.

Either McClain gets a hold on his saliva whilst he talks smack, or he get a serious check on that thug-like/caveman attitude he's got going on. Personally, I believe it is the latter and McClain should receive any punishment the league dishes out...suspension isn't out of the question imo.

Edit: The head movement could also suggest spit velocity, as the typical reaction to try and spit further/harder is for momentum to already be established (I just tried it). It doesn't look good for McClain.

EDIT2: All this time I had the wrong link in there, why does nobody tell me these things?! Damn it!

And why are you so vehemently throwing McClain under the bus? Why do you think we need "education" on the "art of spitting in someone's face". We're not stupid like Chowder.

If McClain did, punish him...and my respect for him goes down a few notches because I agree with everyone who says that has no place in football.

But, unless the Dolphins have some irrefutable proof that none of the rest of us have.....move on. The clips from the game show nothing definite and with a ref standing right there who said he didn't see anything....I still think Chowder's full of it.

This. There is no way they can have proof of it enough to suspend him, so it comes down to Crowder's word vs McClain's. I take McClain's, seeing how Crowder was a <punk> all week and trying to start stuff. Not to mention he threatened McClain multiple times.

I'm really not too worried about a suspension, and if they do that would be ridiculous. There isn't anything close to irrefutable evidence that he spit on him.

Because, yet again, people are looking at this with a biased view. Crowder may have a poor history, but that doesn't make him wrong. You have clearly demonstrated your bias with calling him "stupid", when that has nothing to do with the current incident.

The reason to educate shouldn't be perceived as an insult, because I think people don't look at the finer details in life to make an informed opinion. Look at everybody, jumping the gun because Crowder is a loudmouth linebacker who can't back his talk with his walk (of which I agree). But that is completely unrelated with the topic at hand.

Move on? So we should tolerate this type of unsportsmanlike conduct and let it slide? This isn't a backflip into the endzone, this is about one of the most disrespectful things you could do to another human being.

You know what else referees miss? Holding penalties, roughing the passer, pass interference, tripping etc. Should I really explain my point any further?

The Referee was right there in the video so how he did not see spit fly across I just don't know. I think he confused him with talking smack and spit flew as he did than anything. He had no reason to spit in his face. I mean they were winning. =/

Not to mention, how he handled it when he was talking to the media shows he was an idiot. Insulting and threatening on television makes you sound so unintelligent so when it comes down to it it would be word vs word. And if I'm Goodell I'm taking the one who sounds less like an idiot. You lost. Get over it.

No...I'm not saying we should just let it slide. Did you not see in my previous post that I agree that the behavior has no place in football AND that if McClain did that then yes he needs to be punished.

But McClain is INNOCENT UNTIL PROVEN GUILTY....and if the Dolphins HAVE no definite evidence, then their making an issue of this is moot. And our arguing is even mooter. I hope that Le'Ron wouldn't stoop that low but if he did, he deserves punishment.

You don't spit on another man period, straight up it's the most disrespectful thing you can do to a man. LeRon is a bum and has been tumbling down the hill since he told the fans to f off.

Do you guys have any idea of what goes on during a scrum after a fumble? Guys are spitting, poking, grabbing, etc. I'm not condoning spitting in someone's face at all, but there are plenty of infractions that violate reasonable conduct during a game that we never hear about. It's time to move on to Atlanta.

If you look at when Leron draws back and then almost immediately Chowder wipes his face. I'm just saying. I hope it's not the case. However,if you look at LeRon's and Chowder's actions, something happened. Chowder's definitely not the sharpest knife and there's no way I think he actually thought that out enough to fake it.

Personally I am let down though. This shouldn't even be an issue in the first place. Now we have bad press coverage because of it. It makes the team look bad. Once again bad boys of football.

Agreed, Willis McGahee practically had his eye poked out in 2008. Stuff like this happens all the time, that doesn't make it right, that just means 22 testosterone-heavy men are competing with one another for 60 minutes. They do some dirty things, such is the nature of sports.
