So true especially at the goal line. It's like we were lining up see that they are stacking the line and instead of spreading the field and throwing with all of these big name receivers we stack our line with blockers and attempt to punch in. I don't know about anyone else but that's getting old to me.

I still hate the obvious first down give to Rice.
Love Ray to run the ball, but if I know what we do EVERY time, the other
teams studying the films will know too..

Knowing we may intend to give the ball to Rice and stopping it are two different things.
I thought Joe showed good judgement today, spread the ball around, read his progressions
well and went to Ray when nothing was available. He got sacked a few times and some of
those were in the red zone, but better that than a pick and most times we still got a
FG. The refs blew that call where Mase was called for Off PI, that would have been another
Red Zone TD.
The Oline is still working, still adjusting to the absence of Gaither; on TV Yanda was
cited for a great block to spring Rice.
I had to laff abt the comments; basically Cam is calling the same game but execution is
getting better, Flacco is getting better and the Defense is almost totally healthy.

Something needs to happen with the run game. We can run fine, but on obvious run situations it is just too easy to stop. The blocking is not there at all. IDK if pitching the ball could be any better, but I doubt it could be worse. It could at least keep teams guessing. Maybe even if we didn't line up with such heavy formations it would keep teams on their toes. After all it does seem that with our heavy formations we do the worst, but then again that is because we mostly only use the heavy formations on short rushing downs.

I will be the first to admit I have been and will remain to be critical of Cam Cameron until he shows a tad more faith in Joe. After last year where on more than one occasion especially the colts playoff game we saw an animated fiery joe getting into a bickering match with Cam. This past preseason was the only time Joe was doing his own audibling according to what is read on the field, and for the preseason it was effective with no negative outcomes.

Here we are going in to week 10, I am happy to say we are 6-2 with our best football ahead of us, but the choke chain has to come off. every game you can clearly see an instance of an ego and good ole fashion male pride stop us on 3rd down. Why? because joe sees a blitz probably can make a change to effectively pick it up, or run the rock away from it. Regardless we watch him take sacks that are hard to live with down in the redzone.

After games win or lose, a question in some form about playcalling (generally a bad play call is what the media here pokes at) is asked to Joe whom replies some rendition of Master P's "it aint my fault", " thats all cam", "Im not sure im the guy to answer that" Cam has gotten much more aggresive and consistent with his playcalling overall. But these situations where we watch 0-3 points go up on the board as opposed to TDs are a result of the hand cuffs on the QB. He can see these vanilla blitzes coming at him let him make an adjustment and end some of these games earlier than they do.

and this is not to say its every 3rd down this is happening, because our 3rd down percentage is as good as its ever been since the inaugural 96 season... true improvements ahve been made there and discipline with penalties, mainly PI, IC, holding on offense and defense... now if we could stop false starting, which is nutz because I'd like to see more dummy snap counts and hard counts to get a defense into their shell and we can see who is coming well before they come
