Donte Stallworth's Return!

49 posts in this topic

Needless to say, that game winner in the Pitts may be huge when it comes down to playoff position. The remainder of our schedule looks winnable. Overall, I see the Falcons game as a problem because we don't recover well on a quick turnaround. I'm pretty sure that we will beat the Dolphins and Bucs. The Saints look beatable. We need to seal the deal by sweeping the divisional games for the rest of the season. Another win over the Squeelers will be sweet!

The only impact Housh has had thus far is the game winner at Pitt (that was critical, I agree). In terms of his overall impact on bettering our offense throughout the year, it hasn't been there. 9 catches on 25 targets (thanks again Alexir) in 7 games is nowhere near the impact many of us expected with him coming in.

In terms of his non-statistical impact, I think you can make a point that he has affected the way defenses play us. Housh's ability to influence PI's has been helpful in certain games.

Overall, however, I'd like to see him make more of an impact. That won't come until Cameron utilizes him more in the offense.

TJ made some plays in the Jets game, as well. Without him, I don't know if our offense moves the ball as well. He was beating Wilson up and down and he made an excellent jumping, behind-the-back catch.

I also enjoy how the title is "Dante" instead of "Donte", haha. An Italian flair, Capo?

It may have been a Freudian slip. Dante Alighieri (1265-1321) was a great poet who was known as the father of the Italian language. Before Dante, most Italians spoke regional dialects of the Latin language. He is best known for his Divine Comedywhere he describes Hell, Purgatory, and Paradise.

Donte (Dante) has a way to go to catch up with TJ on the highlight reels. Wilson is an exceptional CB, who had his hands full with our man. Not to mention, that TJ saluting the stunned Squeeler fans will be my background on my laptop until we win the SB. When the posts turn negative, stick with the facts and snap the posters back to reality. I like the way you think, amico mio.

On top of that, his last productive season was, what, four years ago?
Well, I mean, do we want a PRODUCTIVE season out of him? That is to say: Did we sign him to make a thousand yards and thirty touchdowns? No, not really. I've got faith that he'll have a "productive" season - he'll do what we want him to do, and he'll stretch the field.

For instance, I was watching a video clip about Michael Oher's offseason workouts on this website and Donte Stallworth was working out next to the gentle giant. There is no concern about his work ethic. I really want to see him shine. Accidents happen when you are drinking and driving. Forgive him for the past and hope for the best for him in the future. I'd love to see him score a TD tomorrow. I'll be in section 228 screaming my head off if he does.

Indeed, Dante's Inferno! Haha, I like it, I think he should change his name.

Yep, TJ has made some plays but still has room to improve. But, for signing him less than a week before the first game, he has done very well. While not always consistently productive, he is an asset to this receiving corps.

I am excited for him, I am sure that he is really nervous. He wants to show everyone why he deserves a second chance so we should let him.

BUT IF CAM DOESN'T USE HIM I WILL BE SO ANGRY. Anquan and Derrick and even Todd will benefit from using him because they will be left open.

And not to mention our RBs will have fun with it with a safety dropping back more often.

I think he'll be good to go. I just hope he still has that speed to get behind the secondary. if he does, i say put him on a 4wr set with him, q, housh n mase wit rice in the back. game over for defenses.

I dont think stallworth helps us out much in 4 WR sets. By the time he gets down field, flacco will be on his back since no one is back there protecting him.

To all at the game: show your love for this guy whenever he makes a play. Whether a TD catch, punt return, or a special teams tackle cheer that man on. He has been through a lot and is finally back on the field. Welcome back Donte!

By now we knw how he was used this past Sunday. I don't think he had any throws to him
but he certainly was effective clearing routes for other receivers. I would think he'll
receive more snaps and possibly some throws in the Atlanta game.
People want to call Housh a "crybaby" because of some of his earlier comments (some idiot
put him on his 10 biggest crybaby list) but TJ is getting snaps, he's getting targets (he
had at least one catch yesterday) but he has been awesome on his downfield blocking.
WRs main job is to catch balls and get YAC but blocking is an added benefitted that all
our WRs bring to the team. I would seriously hope that we retain all our "added" WRs next
year.
