McRib Is Back!

151 posts in this topic

I used to work at at a McDonalds about 13yrs ago and the McRibs then were great. My manager used to take like 8-10 home each night. I used to chow down on them. They're not as good as then but they're still good.

Never thought I'd see the day where a McRib topic turned into a thread about international cuisine and fast food lol
Yeah, pretty funny. I've never had a McRib and hope to never try one, but foods from different lands are amazing. One of the main reasons my wife and I travel so much....

Is a McRib supposed to have the consistency of a truck tire?
Probably...

The Baconator from Wendy's trumps all.
Coming from someone that hates fast food and doesn't think it's food, and actually believes it'll shorten your life, I have to say the Baconator was amazing.
I had it for the first time a couple years ago, and hadn't had one since that time, nor did I eat fast food at the time, and actually stopped around the age of 16.
A friend I used to work with would bring them in all the time, and when I first saw it, I couldn't help but ask what the hell it was?
He gave me a bite, and after that I used to have him bring one in for me when he got them, I was addicted...

The McRib is a horrific idea. It's funny it was brought back on election day.
Anyway the McRib is scary.

It reminds me of the Chappelle's Show skit about WacArnolds. When he is in an argument with his wife and says something like, "McRib (or rib sandwich) comes back on Tuesday, and guess who ain't getting one"
Hilarious...

My girlfriend went to DC to see GBV the other day, I couldn't make it, sadly enough, they are one of my all time favorite bands and she brought back some Ben's Chili Bowl.
It was the first time I had it, but when I go back to DC I'm making it a mandatory stop, and everyone else should too, if you like that sort of stuff.
I don't normally eat that stuff but it was amazing and I'm hooked.

Lived in Japan for a year. Can't say I even saw a McDonalds. But then again, with as good as the local food was, I probably wouldn't have wasted my time. There was a soba truck on base that used to play music like a Japanese Ice Cream Truck and a hot sweet potato truck off base that did the same thing.

The one thing they did have over there was a place called California Chicken. Obviously owned/operated by an American, it was right outside the gate and across from a club and the food was goooooood.

A soba truck sounds awesome.

My in-laws live in Japan and we visited in 2008. Flew into Tokyo and then stayed 3 weeks near the Kadena base in Okinawa. The food there is fantastic, but my wife and her family are Filipino and they have this facination with fast food.
I've read a lot about Okinawa, and it's culture and I've always wanted to go. I hear the food is great and very healthy.
I suppose that is one of the reasons they tend to live the longest.

That and they finish every meal with hot tea that will break down any fat that is in their food. We Americans will slurp down a 32 oz soda/cola/pop (whatever) and that will solidify the fat in our stomach, therefore, not allowing the proper breakdown and digesting of fats. We, as a nation, are gross when it comes to our eating habits.

Is it time for this abomination to go back to the McDonald's Dumpster (the McD's version of the Disney Vault)?
It may be headed for the dumpster soon thanks to this: http://www.bnet.com/blog/retail-stores/mcdonald-8217s-gets-flamed-for-paid-tweet-mcrib-ads/1985

That is hilarious. Who would have thought that trying to use Twitter to advertise would ever backfire?

Most people can benefit from free publicity via Twitter. McDonald's pays for publicity over Twitter... and all they get is negative feedback.
