The Shanahan-McNabb feud has gone to a new level.

Mark Berman of FOX 26 in Houston reports that JaMarcus Russell, the first overall pick in the 2007 draft, will meet with the Redskins.

The move comes during the Redskins' bye week, two days after starting quarterback Donovan McNabb was yanked during crunch time of a loss to the lowly Lions.
Their HC and OC have questioning their starting QB's lack of conditioning and now they're interested in JaMarcus.

I love the NFL.

Any team that has to go out to get a bust like this guy has to be desperate. But, is it to replace Grossman or Mcnabb?

Man I thought they were really smart in getting McNabb. I was like McNabb is finally going to get the respect he deserves in Washington. I thought he was going to take them to the next level. Than they benched him for no reason. Russel better be replacing grossman and not McNabb. If he is replacing McNabb, really gotta question the FO and coaches. McNabb can't get past the undeserved disrespect.

Why does McNabb get no love anywhere he goes? All he does is win games, would the redskins have won any games this year without McNabb...seriously. He has a dogcrap Oline, a below average HB, and Moss and Cooley to throw to and neither of them scare a defense.

Agree 100%, he is one of my favorite QBs. I favor mobile QBs over pocket passers.

I have so much respect for McNabb. In a league of Diva's he is one of the true professionals week in and out. Though at this point I believe even he as a professional has earned the right to cry a bit. He is the most over looked player in the NFL. McNabb is a winner, simply put. He may not have the stats but he does have the wins. Can't wait for him to go to a team like the Vikings or Cardinals next year.

I really hope they trade him to the Cardinals. They seem like a top class orginazation. He deserves better than this.

They can't trade him because the deadline has passed. The only thing that can occur is the Redskins waiver him or he becomes a free agent after the year.

Russell + $100 Million Defensive Tackle = Championship!

Yes, I remember when this thing with McNabb was going to happen I wanted Arizona to wise up and spend the money and draft picks to get him. The Cardinals are built to win now, that is a fact. Ken Whisenhunt doesn't have time to build up a Franchise QB, he can't wait for Max Hall to develop, he can't wait to take a QB in the 2011 Draft, Fitz's contract is up in 2011, and Larry is going to bolt Arizona if there is no QB. Getting McNabb would have put Arizona in a much better situation right now. Whiz has done a great job in Arizona, and I hope if the Skins let McNabb go, Arizona picks him up and McNabb leaves off where Kurt Warner started. McNabb to Fitzgerald would be deadly!

Actually, McNabb is on a one year, trial contract much like Randy Moss was under in 2007 when he exploded for 23 TD passes. Him and Arizona would be an excellent fit, and would instantly make them better. I'm not saying that he'd make them like Kurt Warner made them, but it'd be very close.

Aw damn, dude. I was literally just about to come in here and say the same thing.

Shanahan: McNabb just isn't fit enough to run the 2 minute offense. What are we going to go!?
OC: Uh... why not sign JaMarcus Russel?
Shanahan: Brilliant! He's in good enough shape to play for a constant two minutes without a breather, I'm sure.

Damn right. Until the day we drafted Flacco, I was praying to the football gods that we would bring McNabb over here.

JaMarcus Russell and the Redskins? Surely, you've got to be joking.
I'm dead serious, and don't call me Shirley. :D

Makes sense to me. The 2 teams I figured that would be dumb enough to give him a chance would be the 'Skins or the 'Boys (remember, they did sign Ryan leaf). I'll certainly have a blast with 'Skins fans I work with if they sign him......
