Can We Have A Section For Other Sports ?

It can just be one section for all the other sports and sports teams in Maryland but somewhere outside of the off topic forum. Sometimes alot of the threads about other sports get pushed to the bottom of the page because of other off topic issues. I know there are alot of baseball and basketball fans on here. Can we have a place to discuss sports in general, without interrupting the social chatter?

This is something else I noticed on other message boards and thought it'd be nice to see it happen here.

Sounds good. I noticed that some of the other boards even have forums for the other specific teams in that area.

Not a bad idea. Im a huge baseball fan and it would be nice to see what Ravens fans think about whats going on in other sports instead of having to go to other forums.

The problem with adding a bunch of new forums is that the overall layout can get very clustered and, in my experience with other message boards, many forums become barely used or redundant.

This is primarily a Ravens message board, with concentration being on football. There is of course also the 'other teams' forum, and IMO anything about other sports/teams fits fine into off topic for the time being. Of course, if it generated huge interest then an 'other sports' forum could be considered in the future.

In the meantime, I'd suggest an 'official O's thread' and 'official NBA thread' in Off Topic for now.

maybe we can start creating sub-forums like the 49er's or Titans? have done. to save us from lots of scrolling. This is especially useful for the forums that become ghost towns, because it wouldn't have to stand out as much as the forums that get moderate to heavy traffic but will always be there just in case (or just get rid of it altogether). Just my two shining pennies

ah yea i see your point.......i think that the option of starting a "offical Baltimore Orioles" baseball thread would be more acceptable and in which would be alot less likely to take up that much space on here....and only add to the "cluttering" aftermath effect that have since plagued many message boards over the years.

Well, I figured it would be vetoed. Worth a shot, I guess. Although, I dont really understand how adding one extra forum would clutter the site. I mean eventually the Free agency and draft forums will be removed.

it does have a bit of a ring to it....and this being just a thought.....once you click on it, the other "baltimore sports" or whatever would be displayed in bulletins or whatever and all you would have to do is click, read and/or post.
