Randy Moss A Titan

Randy is overrated. I'd take WRs like Boldin, TO and even Percy Harvin over him any day of the week. There's talk of him still being a really good WR, just not as good as he once was. But even that's a stretch. All we need to do is get TJ more involved in our own passing game. I'm by no means willing to release/trade him because he's still a great fit in this offense. So some people really need to cut the hate.

This team doesn't need Randy Moss.
He is the Albert Haynesworth of offenses. He will play when he wants to play, do what he wants to do and say what he wants to say. And it says it all right here in his music video:

I have no comment on whether we should sign him or not. But we have no receiver that utilizes Joe's strength which is his arm. Nobody here could literally flat out say, "I do not want Randy Moss here" and completely be satisfied with saying it. Teams gameplan for Moss ALONE. He would open up so much for the receivers we have and we do not know how well Stallworth would "stretch" the field.

But in the same breath, I don't think risking chemistry is what we need right now.

No, we dont NEED him.
But you're off your rocker if you think he is washed up. He's not quite the Randy of 3 years ago, but I can count on one hand how many guys out there are better than him. 90% of Randy Moss is better than 120% of all but the best of the best.

Drawing PI's is certainly commendable, but he's dropped way too many passes and hasn't been the best locker room guy either. I mean, he said he was happy that Pitt took the lead against us for goodness sake (he's lucky we won and that he was the reason why). I'm not advocating we get Moss or don't, but I don't think we should disregard it.
He said he was happy because it gave the Ravens an opportunity to show their stuff again. He wasn't rooting for the Steelers.

It's akin to saying, "I like being the underdog"

I think a few 150 yard, 3 TD performances by Randy would be great for chemistry lol

When the hell did 4 pages about Randy Moss occur in Ravens talk? I'm baffled.
Because our fan bases mentality is "one man's trash, is another man's treasure".

Do you really think Ozzie or Steve want to pick up a 6.5 million dollar headcase who has been bounced off of 2 teams this season?

Why are you baffled? He's a big-time WR whose a FA; this was an inevitability.

Why don't we think about this:

Mason is in his 14th year at 36 years old.
Boldin is in his 8th year at 30 years old.
Houshmandzadeh is in his 10th year at 33 years old.
Stallworth is in his 8th year at 29 years old.
Moss is in his 13th year at 33 years old.

The average years of experience there is 10.6 years. While the average age is 32.2 years.

That's a pretty old selection of receivers there. How many years do you think Moss truly has left? I'm sorry, but I'd like to add some YOUNG talent to our team's receiving corp, not old divas who only have 1 or 2 years left (three at the most).

On a side note, it would be absolutely terrible to beg Mason to stay for another year, and ultimately, demote him to the third option.

The bottom line is, it would be good to have him, but we don't need him, so I don't see us picking him up.

We have all the talent we need here. We obviously know that Stallworth will add enough to the offense when he comes back in the way of a deep threat otherwise he wouldn't have been picked up in the first place. In picking Moss up we upgrade our deep threat, but we know that he hasn't the greatest of attitudes, whereas with Donte he's shown an undeniably great work ethic because we know the guy has worked his butt off all offseason to try to prove that he is worth a place on this team.

I say again, we don't need him enough for it to be worthwhile to fiddle around with our options in order to make a move. I would expect to see him go to some place in desperate need of talent at the receiver position, like St. Louis, who have been badly gashed with injuries.

On a side note, put Randy Moss on the Ravens in Madden and you all would see this is what we need to do now! lol #joke

Just curious to see what people think about the possibility of Moss wearing a different shade of purple... :baltimore-ravens:

Oh lord LMAO!!! I knew someone would have to bring this non sense up about Moss. Are you serious?? Hell we can't even keep TJ as happy as he wants to be, and people would even think the thought of bringing another #1 wide out to this team lol. C'MON MAN!!!!!!!!!!!!!! We have four legit WRs the fourth being Stall, that could easily be #1s on another team, we have plenty of talent and weapons at that position!!
I could care less if they get him. It's only one more receiver, and one that doesn't scare me at all. That's why I wouldn't be extatic if we took him. We've got a lot of weapons already, so what good is one more gonna do?

And if some people really thought TJ was being a locker room cancer when he didn't get the ball, imagine Moss when he doesn't get the ball.

Housh is already been complaining about it. If we are to sign Moss for some reason, I would be fine with it only if we cut Housh. I will not forgive him for the Steeler comments. Unforgivable.

Wide Receivers are divas. They are all pretty much narcissistic, arrogant headcases (minus Colston, Andre, Larry and Calvin). Too many people want the ball and it would cause problems.

Plus when we see the Pats in the playoffs he will probably play like crap for us to make daddy belichick and tom beiber win the game lol
Then you must not have read past his first sentence.. (LINK)
"I was happy [the Steelers] scored because we were going to go two-minute and we were going to throw it," said Houshmandzadeh, referring to the Steelers going ahead 14-10 midway through the fourth quarter. "When we throw the ball, they can’t stop us. If [the offensive line] protects like they protect up front and we throw, they can’t stop us."
He was glad the Steelers scored so that the Ravens could come back out and show their merit. He's not rooting for the Steelers. I shouldn't have to explain this :34853_doh:

Why not? His numbers in 2008 and 2009 were considered down years for him, yet he still combined for around 2400-2500 yards and 24 TDs the past two years. Both of those stats have to be in the top 3 or 4 over the past two years, so I dont see how anyone can say he isn't still a monster.
This year, pretty obvious why his production has slipped, has nothing to do with his skill level.

I would LOVE to see Randy in a Ravens uniform. Say what you will about him, but him and Boldin on the field at the same time would be unstoppable. Lock it up Oz!!!

I know right? 5 WR set anyone? lol

All well and good, but if you're opposed to bringing in Moss, none of that is a reason to not bring him in. His attitude is the only plausible reason to not want him here.

Wow, you dont have to explain anything, I read the comments when they came out and read them when he apologized for them. Not going to turn this thread into a Housh thread but any player on our team that hopes the other team scores so they can pad their stats isn't someone I want on our team. Especially if they are going to say that about a game involving our biggest rival.

Actually, I think some of our fan base's mentality is that the real NFl must work like Madden does.

That was then, this is now. If the Patriots cut him, OK that really doesn't mean much because they part ways with good players all the time and it always ends up helping them in the long run. It's just how their management works.

But them AND the Vikings? When the Vikes are in desparate need of a big play talent who is supposed to be able to give their offense a spark? That's saying a lot.

I'm sure every NFL message board has been hijacked by "Randy Moss and our team" threads.

Two teams didn't want him because he was a distraction in the locker room. He wants a big contract, will we give that to him? If we don't, it'll be a headache for our organization.

I rather get a pro bowler in the trenches than a pro bowl receiver/running back any day. If the Vikings cut McKinney, I would say jump on it...but then again he is a headcase too and not playing too shabby either....
