Just curious to see what people think about the possibility of Moss wearing a different shade of purple... :baltimore-ravens:

No. Absolutely not.

Because the minute he got unhappy he would pull the same crap that he did in Oakland....and New England....and now Minnesota (again).

No freaking thank you....

We'd either have to release Housh or Stallworth. Honestly I don't want to see neither go. It'd be a great pick up but our receiving core is way too stacked.

Really?

Really?

I seriously cannot understand why the second a big name receiver hits free agency or the waivers, a topic pops up about signing him. C'mon people, we signed Boldin, Stallworth, and Houshmandzadeh, we do NOT need more receivers to create a larger logjam at the position (not to mention, a receiver with the attitude of Moss). How about we (the fans) focus on some other positions on the team to debate about. All this talk about receivers is about as overdone and boring as it gets.

What are you talking about? Moss was making a statement to the league. Brady has 2 or 3 TDs without Moss, but 8-9 with him in NE. This guy regardless is still a great WR and would definitely enhance the team. His problem in Oakland was that they were terrible, NE wasn't going to give him a new contract so he wanted out and Minnesota is also terrible.

You said it a heck of a lot better than I did.

TJ besides that 1 catch in pitt isn't a game changer

It's not certain that Donte will be..

But we do know that defenses have to gameplan for randy...his effort is he only question...

Though I would find it funny if BB planned this all along and picks Randy back up. Free draft pick haha.
Haha that'd be hilarious.

I don't see why people would be upset if Moss came. Either way they would have to release someone and he's definitely better than Housh and Stalls. I mean I'd hate to see one of them go but I wouldn't be against it either. Moss wants a ring I'm sure and he also wants to make a statement. Not to mention, teams will gameplan against Moss which will open things up even more for Boldin who is our clear cut Number 1.

I didn't really get the vibe that Moss was unhappy in Minnesota. I really don't think that at this stage in his career he'd be too upset if he wasn't the star of the show. Not that we need him...

Unless Flacco learns to read defenses... I'm not sure adding more receivers helps. I mean, we added Boldin and Housh this year, and I'm not seeing any improvement from the passing game. Still VERY inconsistent. And the worst part, is they are abandoning the awesome run-game just to try and prove the passing game is improved.

I'd love to have Moss on the Ravens, but they never go after free agent pieces. They'll keep planning for the future, and try to win the draft.

Why is every thread about Flacco for you? Let it go man.....

Considering the problems it could create with chemistry alone, it would make zero sense for him to be brought here.

Like ATD said, these WR threads are seriously played out.

I'm not opposed to the idea because he's a big, physicial target with good speed, and he's the type of receiver I think Joe would have the most success with. Everyone talks about Joe overthrowing guys on occasion or throwing balls too high. Randy's big enough that I don't think it will be an issue with him, and more importantly, looking at the wide receivers in next year's class, they are similar in size to him so it might be a better measuring stick of what Joe could do with one of these guys (though TJ is also pretty big and I think getting him on the field more would help in this regard). I agree with people here, though that the defensive line and secondary are more of a concern both right now and in the future than receiver (though after this year we have to figure out how to adress WR in the longterm since Boldin is the only guy we actuall have signed longterm).

Why not? He'd be the perfect compliment to Anquan Boldin. Cut TJ and sign Randy if he clears waivers or no other team in front of us wants him. The man just wants to win, get over it.

We don't need another "game changer". Boldin has proven to be absolutely dangerous over here in Baltimore, and Mason is doing what he does best: being consistent and reliable. Housh, while not doing too much, is a great third option, and gives the team two fantastic options of receivers to place in the slot. The only thing "lacking" is the overblown speedy, "deep threat". If Stallworth proves to play well once he comes back, he'll provide the team with that speedy option at receiver.

You bring Moss in, and we get a moody receiver who will create an issue with ball distribution on this team.

Our receivers have made plays when they need to for the most part except for the end of the Patriots game. I probably wouldn't have gotten out of the Jets game had Boldin, Housh, and Heap not have been there. Stats aren't pretty (except for Boldin's maybe) but we wouldn't have won the Jets game last year.

Cincy is Joe's fault obviously.

Boldin stepped up big in the Browns game.

Steelers, you saw Housh score the TD and the pass game was on point all game.

Broncos we had the running game.

Patriots we stalled in the 4th after killing them all game.

Bills we put up 37 points

Weren't we worried that Housh would do this?

Moss isn't physical at all. The man has 13 receptions on the year and I'd say at least 6 of them have come on fly routes.

We seem to think we have this stacked WR core but that is just completely untrue.

Boldin - Possession
TJ- Possession
Mason- Possession

The best guy on our team to stretch the field is Heap and he is hurt. Yeah Donte is coming back but lets be honest here Moss > Stallworth
EDIT: Plus Stallworth has never played a full season in his career.

He "just wants to win"? He's a head-case. And if he's brought here, what happens to Mason? You think he'd appreciate being demoted?

Actually, that guy is Dickson and he's likely to get more and more snaps coming off the bye.
