This thread is like the reasonable conversation about Moss. This thread gets my seal of approval.

Why we have 10+ pages talking about Moss as a Raven in Ravens Talk is beyond me.

See, I haven't jumped into that conversation yet, but Moss is the one malcontent I would be fine with. My reasoning is, he doesn't destroy locker rooms like Terrell Owens. Owens' current stint in Cincinnati aside, it's no coincidence that every stop in his NFL career has been a rocky one. Even in Buffalo, my relatives who are Bills fans say that it was almost inevitable for him to explode, as he had a self-imposted moratorium on his contact with the media that he surprisingly upheld for that lone season.

Moss would be a luxury pick-up. He's not a player the Ravens need, but it'd certainly be awesome to think about having a WR corps with Boldin, Mason, Houshmandzadeh, Moss, and Stallworth. Moss wouldn't be able to contribute much because he'd have to play catch-up with the playbook, but he'd be good for a jump ball or two per game. He would certainly hurt some of the chemistry that the offense is just starting to build, but he could help down the line once that chemistry is fully matured.

It would be awesome on paper, I agree with. I think that's what gets everybody so psyched about it. But I worry about his quest for a contract and the distraction that could cause. He already got on the podium in NE and caused a stir about his contract needs to the media. That led to a falling out. Then he seemed a bit disgruntled about his future with the Vikes. Which caused him to have a fallout with Childress. There was something behind the curtain that we do not know. Something that created a stir with the head coach.

He's been a distraction more than he's been a player this year. I'd rather leave Boldin as our stud and not force something because it "sounds good".

I think that, similar to the Oakland stint, this situation with the Vikings has humbled Moss a bit, as he's seen that the grass isn't greener on the other side now. Money shouldn't be an issue for the rest of this year, as he'll be paid no matter where he goes. The question is whether he'll earn that next big payday, and teams will likely shell out big-time for him next year, regardless of the numbers he puts up this year.

If anything, this drama in Minnesota only confirmed my suspicion that Brad Childress has lost control of his locker room and is desperate to save his job and save face. He was always a lame-duck coach, in the words of a Vikings fan I'm close with, and he had gotten away with so much for so long because of the success of Adrian Peterson and then a resurgent Brett Favre. Now that Favre is beyond broken-down and Peterson is back to being the only significant weapon still contributing on offense, Childress' days are numbered.

Honestly, if the Vikes had never posted that 10-6 season back in 2008, Childress probably would have been canned after that season. Then Brett Favre's fluke of a season seems to only have postponed the inevitable.

Wait, wouldn't the vikes get back their 3rd round pick since Moss is (or will be) waived?
I don't think so. Never heard of that before.

It is very common, but I don't think it was/is part of this particular trade.

What about Packers? Give Aaron Rodgers another deep threat besides Greg Jennings.
If the Packers were going to address something on their offense this season, I'd imagine they'd rather address that mediocre at best backfield.

So let's see, Favre got Mangini fired in NY and will now get Brad Childress fired in Minnesota. You know what the funny thing is, both Mangini & Childress were actually good coaches and both will be canned because of Grandpa Favre.

Now as for Moss, don't know who will end up with him but if he makes it through and the Patriots get him back, I call conspiracy and the Patriots should be locked up for robbing Minny of a 3rd Round Pick. I mean come on, BB gets a draft pick and can get Moss back as well, that's unfair. I'll say this, if Moss refuses to play for 31 other teams and only will play for the Pats, than you know something is up.

It really wouldn't surprise me if, somehow, the Pats ended up with Moss again. After all, Belicheck is the master of shady wheeling and dealing.

What about Giants? Imagine if Eli Manning had Randy Moss to throw to.

Hell what about the Saints? Drew Brees + Randy Moss could be interesting

Seems someone put a claim in for Moss and it's the TITANS!

http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2010/11/03/report-titans-put-in-claim-for-moss/
According to Don Banks of SI.com, the Titans have submitted a claim for Moss' contract. Since they are No. 22 on the list, they trump the 10 teams beneath them on the list.
Edit: It's now confirmed on NFL Network that Moss was claimed by the Titans.

Titans? Really? I'm surprised... but I'm not.
It's now official. Yeah I'm surprised myself but they were explaining on NFL Network about Kenny Britt's injury and that this may be a patch until Britt comes back.
