Week 9 - Miami Dolphins

182 posts in this topic

Alright, we are the first in our division but only because we own the tie-breaker over the Steelers. Nevertheless, we are rested, more healthier and now ready for the second half of the season...

Now onto the Dolphins.

This is the third team in our division they have played in a row and I believe they haven't lost a road game this year.

I think we got this but we have to come out sharp on both sides of the ball. Should be a real good game though.

I'm really looking forward to this game. Adjustments like will definitely be made on both sides of the ball but I'm really hoping to see someone step up returning kick-offs game and Stallworth provide a spark returning punts.

Miami is 4-0 on the road, just for the side note.

We SHOULDN'T take this game lightly, treating this game or any game as equal as SB.

We need our secondary to step up and stop getting beat one on one. Hopefully, Reed is fully back, comunication wise.

We need a good punt returner like Stallworth or something. I think Wilson or Pamele can be rotated as kick returner.

We need to our front 5 if called to execute getting to the QB.

I don't think we'll play the game like we did with the Bills. We almost got all our weapons if Stallworth can play this weekend.I think we have this.I watched Miami play today and seeing that field goals is what carried them through the game,I feel like we have a great chance of winning. It will take more than field goals to shut us down.

I'm also ready to see Ed Reed take some balls, which I know he will.

It will probably be a close game but us still winning. How mad are they gonna be to know that they have all these road wins only to have Baltimore stop them.

This is going to be a very tough game IMO, Miami really has an underrated defense that is very hard to run on. I feel like if we are going to win this game we are going to do it on Flacco`s shoulders. Our defense will have a tougher time then they think as I feel Miami has one of the best Oline`s in football. If we can bracket Marshall with a couple db`s, shut the run down and keep Davone Bess from making YAC plays against us we have a very good chance at winning. We will need Koch to do some Koch slapping on Sunday.

I'm counting on the defense to come out of the bye week roaring like we did last year. And it seems as though every time the d has a bad game, we come out the next game and dominate. I don't expect us to hold the Dolphins offense completely still, as I also believe the game is gonna be close. But we should certainly be able to hold them long enough for our offense to get some things done.

Well one good thing Flacco has going for him, is that he is what 2-0 against the fish? Plus he gets our crowd this time, I believe the wins he does have against them were all in Miami. Yes they are 4-0 on the road but we are also undefeated at home this year, so someones 4-0 road or 3-0 home record is going to have a loss on it.

The way Chad Henne has been throwing them, I wouldn't be surprised to see Ed once again have 2 Interceptions. Maybe 3 and that very well may be the difference in us winning, Ed Reed.

I'll say this much, if Ed does get 2 Interceptions, and he continues on that pace for 2 a game, that would put him on pace for 20 Total Interceptions lol.

If Ed Reed has a great season... I would truly consider Ed not only the Team MVP but he should be talked about in the race for NFL MVP.

You should have started your post off with "I have a dream".. listen. Ed had a great game against the Bills. Fitzpatrick clearly did not plan to play against a full-form Ed Reed, and with zero running game, he was forced to throw MANY passes the whole game. QBs who have faced Reed know to downright avoid his area, so let's see how the next couple of games pan out before we start crowing our boy MVP already.

well, with luck the Miami curse has been broken.
they had been 0-3 at home, but they won at home today, so now maybe they'll
lose on the road lol.

Slow down boy, Ed has only 1 game under his belt this season and you are already considering him as league MVP. One thing agreed on though, Henne has been making some stupid mistakes under pressure, so I won't be surprised to see Ed get one.

This is not going to be a walk in the park. We come of the bye and fresher than the Fins who come after two intense games. Might be a Ravens at Pats in reverse...
Anyway I say 20-16 win, maybe some nice surprise from bungals to cook the squelers, plenty of laughs if lions come back running and trowing for half thousend and deepen the jet lag, what do you know chargers could do it over texans too, browns might keep it going and pick brady for a couple of tds, vick to come back and send the colts packing.

Bengals are a division game. Would be nice but I am pretty sure you can stick a fork in the Bengals.

Browns...man would be sweet if they could put together another great game to beat those Pats. That would be the ultimate for me. We get to take care of business with the Steelers ourselves but we have to count on others for NE.

If we keep Ricky Williams and Ronnie Brown in check, I think the O can do what is necessary to win this one. After the Buffalo game, I don't think we will see the Ravens appearing to over look any team on the schedule from here on out.

Score: Ravens 24 Dolphins 13

And if DeAngelo Hall continues like he did w/ 4 pics last week...he'll have almost 50 for the season. Oh wait, he only had 1 yesterday. Nevermind!

it would be good to come on the plus on turnovers after this sunday; we're still down two so a couple of ints and a fumble recovery would do the trick

Henne is a dink champion. With Marshall and Bess they will give us some headaches. We focus on the intermediate routes.

If our offense goes out there with a balanced attack, we should come away with a win.

It will be a very tough game, like any game on our schedule.

I agree it's any given sunday but it's a game we should win if we bring our A-game and play well. As long as Flacco has a good game and now Ed Re:242736: ed's presence is back it won't be an easy second half of the season but it will be easier with all of our players healthy and returning.

I really hope we figure out the punt/kick return game after the Bye week. If you didn't watch the Redskins yesterday, their returner, CJ Banks, was THE reason they were even close in that game. He constantly gave them great field position and even a touchdown at one point! You can't underestimate the value of a good returner. It makes a heck of a difference

Going off by what fans are saying on their board...here are their concerns:

1. Their not scoring TDs instead settling for Fgs

2. They think their Oline is horrid...and feel our front 7 should dominate.( little do they know every team says that each week and we hardly ever dominate)

3. They're kinda disappointed with Ronnie brown and want Ricky to get more carries

4. They think their CB vantae is turning into a great corner that should be able to at least deal with boldin...past that their concerned with their other secondary players

Unless the line steps up as a whole and Mattison comes through with more blitzes, I don't think the Ravens will put much pressure on Henne.

Vontae Davis has certainly become a solid CB and is physical but only one CB has contained Q this season(Champ) and a big reason for was the Broncos couldn't stop the Ravens from running it down their throats. I think Boldin could have a good game.

I was definitely feeling their (Miami fans') pain vs the Bengals early on. It was a FG fest which we know all too well around here. Hard to win that way. I'd also agree that their fears about our D are probably not well-founded at this point. Hopefully we turn that around though. Maybe a Bye is what they need. And seriously, if Fabs or his replacement plays respectably, we're a much better team. Especially with Ed healthy and getting up to speed.

You know, I was getting sick of all the trash talk over the last few weeks so this is a breath of fresh air. Nothing wrong with airing healthy concerns and sharing a bit of humble pie. I'm looking forward to a good game.

They have an excellent defense, and a solid o-line..... Oh, and a top 3 WR.

This game scares me a little, but coming off the bye, especially after our last performance, you know Harbs and Ray will have the team ready to ball out for the 2nd half of the season.

two thing to watch for:

Our secondary

Rush Defense

For love of all that is good, just watch the saints game, and try to do something creative, something that works. They didn't had skilled players, but amazing utilization on players gave saints D the game. I want to see something like that happen.
