Merged: PIT Loss Puts Ravens in 1st Place (For Now)

I don't know which one I got greater pleasure from; the Jets going scoreless or the Squeelers losing. Oh and by the way another personal foul on Harrison.

I had to turn the sound off from the game last night because I got tired of listening to the commentator from the left coast droll over the Steelers head coach . Even when the Steeler were losing this clown could not stop patting the Steeler head coach on the back. If you are a Ravens fan it was a great game to watch . The Saints played with a defense that overpowered Roethlisberger and the Steelers. The Steeler are now 5 and 2 and shows they can be had with good defense. GO RAVENS!

We are ranked 2 just behind New England at 1 in the AFC. Jets at 4 and Steelers at 5. Its nice to be where we are. Just would have been much better had we won that game in New England.

Yeah because NE has a pretty winnable schedule from here on out. They have Indy,Jets,GB and Miami, all at home. Then they have the Steelers at Heinz field. Though have to say, even in their win vs the Vikings they didn't really look all that great.

It's called a pass rush. I hope Mattison was taking notes.

I wonder how the pundits will justify how the Jets and Steelers are better than us.
They'll play the card: "They scraped past a winless Bills team." (Completely disregarding the fact that the Bills have looked very competitive in their past three games now)

On topic though, the results this weekend were so good for us, we aren't reliant on any results to go our way any longer, all we need to do is to beat the Steelers and I think we could quite well get the Wild Card bye. We can focus fully on our own schedule and not really give a damn how PIT or anybody else are doing, a position I'm sure the Ravens are quietly delighted to be in.

Only rankings out yet are the Bleacher Report and yeah, I know, garbage but...just thought I'd mention how the Ravens are #4 and the Steelers are still #1.

Actually, I quite agree here. All we have to do is take care of our own business. It does not matter what anyone else is doing. One week at a time, just focus.

Yep, the weekend went great for us. We went from 6th in the AFC to 2nd without even playing a game.

I thought we were 4th in the AFC going into yesterday? Either way, we're now technically leading the division and are the "2nd seed." It's funny that only Pitt and the Jets are given any credit, despite a loss! Not even New England could get love for being the only 1-loss team left.

Hey either way this bye week was great for the Ravens and us fans. It could of been just a little bit better with the win in NE, maybe that would of had us at the #1 seed. But hey it could of gone alot worse for us and the Ravens basically can do what they want, they have an oppourtunity to do something I believe they have never done before. They could easily win out and have the best record in franchise history, or lose one and tie with the best record 13-3 McNairs first season with us. What seed were we in that home playoff game against the team from Indy? All in all this could still work out to give us the #1 seed and make everything go through Baltimore to get to Dallas, I would just be happy with at least one playoff home game, but would love to have them all and control the whole thing! What Raven player or fan wouldn't though!!!

My Veiw is this the Saints used some Nair and got the win for most of the game Polamalu was a NON Factor now that being said the Jets Just End The Season , the Bengals - Declawed and manged , new england I think the game on sunday was a fix I think Bilecheat sabotaged it look at the moss interview after the game . So what have we learned we dont play 1 week and they all got Complacent , now we need to come out like a storm and eliminate anyone in our path to take number 1 not 2 , 2 was only a stepping stone

I just wish the Steelers didn't play NE and the NY Jets at home.
Still doesnt guarantee that the Steelers are going to win. Does playing both of these quality teams at home give the Steelers a bit of an edge?? Sure it does but by the same token the Steelers are still going to have to show up and execute and play good football or they are not going to beat neither the Patriots or the Jets.

I dont see the Ravens nor do I see the Steelers both winning out. Both teams still have too many tough games left to think they are going to run the table and go 9-0 the rest of the way. I think the Ravens will lose one of these next 2 games to either Miami or Atlanta and either the Steelers or Saints, and I think the Steelers will lose to either the Patriots or Jets, or the Ravens in Baltimore.

Still a long long way to go here before we can sort out seedings and who is where and what not. I still think as Ive said many times before either the Steelers and Ravens will be tied going into their rematch game on December 5th or the Ravens will be 1 game ahead of the Steelers in the standings with the same division record with the Steelers having a chance to jump over the Ravens into first place if they can beat them in Baltimore. I love that the Steelers have 2 of their 3 toughest games left on the schedule at home against the Patriots and Jets. If they can find a way to split those games and beat the Ravens in Baltimore they still will be in good shape to win this division. If Im the Steelers comparing schedules with the Ravens within the AFC right now I'd much rather play the Raiders at home then play the Dolphins at home, Id much rather play at Buffalo then play at Houston, and Id much rather play Carolina at home then play the Saints at home also. Granted the Steelers till have to play both the Pats and Jets but they are both in Pittsburgh, and have to go to Baltimore and play the Bengals twice I still think their schedule does not set up all that bad the rest of the way to overtake the Ravens.

Why does NE get to play all those teams at home? Isn't that stadium like rigged up for cheating with cameras and microphones (and playbook thieves)?

It gives the announcers an excuse to say how invincible the Pats have been at home recently.
