Scoring Issue

In a league where returners get no points for return yardage and touchdowns. If a returner fumbles a punt, should the fumble be counted in the scoring for the player?

Davone Bess today fumbled on a punt return. That's where I am getting this issue from.

If the player doesn't get credit for TD returns, they shouldn't be penalized for a fumbling the ball on special teams.

No CBS league which is usually fantastic with scoring (never any adjustments,etc). That's what I believe. It's close I'm up by 24 w/ nobody left. The person I'm playing has Jacoby Jones and Neil Rackers, so I should win. But if I lose by 2 points, I am going to raise the issue.

It just doesn't seem right that the player would get penalized for a fumble, when he wouldn't be rewarded for a TD.

Agreed. I'd bring it up regardless. As people say, special teams is a third of the game. Why shouldn't a player get credit for his work on special teams but penalized if he makes a mistake?

the commish of yahoo leagues can go back and give you the 2 points back... that was one of the changes we made this year in my league. Everyone just keeps track of their players and tells the commish if a fumble was on a KR/PR, the commish double-checks it, and everyone is happy.

to answer your question, I'm on board with you.. you shouldn't be penalized if you can reap the rewards

Yea, I'm a co-commish of this league and adjustments can be made as well. I'd have to run it by the league though. Which I will only do if I lose by two points. I will wait to see what happens.

The odds of me losing by exactly two points would be rare.
