2008 QB?

13 posts in this topic

Will Leftwich be a Raven for the 2008 Baltimore Ravens if Culpepper is a Jaguar. maybe Ozzie finaly gets the QB he wanted in the 2003 Draft? just a thought what do you all think! Ravens fan for life!

Hmmm.. That is somewhat interesting. I think it could def. be a possibility.

But i think it is more likely that they groom Troy if he continues to look as good as the early reports.

It is possible that Ozzie has cooled on Leftwich at this point now that the league has had a look at him and i dont know that the Jags want Culpepper long term over Leftwich. Leftwich is much younger.

I hope not. Leftwich is a statue and hasn't panned out into nearly the QB that many thought he would be prior to the 2003 draft. Decent arm, but still lacks consistency and I don't think at this point he'll turn around and be anything more than a mediocre NFL quarterback.

As McNair hopefully has at least two more years in him, I think the Ravens will likely see how Troy does in camp and pre-season. If he doesn't look like being the long-term solution I'd expect our first round pick to be a QB in next year's draft.

id think if no one is ready when mcnair is done we would grab another vet until someone in the backup shows the skill set that we need.

on an unrelated matter i heard that they took out the square in fells point and that sux cuz that was my old stompin grounds in highschool

eh i'd say no cuz we really dont need another QB, i mean McNair is teaching Troy and Boller and How to play the position like its supposed to be played.....Troy Will be one heck of a QB when the times comes for him and for The Entire Raven Organization.....so in my oppinion.....Leftwhich will not become a raven...just my 2 cents ;);)

Yeah this was just a thought I had. I really hope Troy works out every night when i hit my knees before I go to bed I pray that Troy is are future qb and he is in the pro bowl every year when he starts and gets bmore a lot of rings. but then i watch the national championship game and say I hope that was a one game thing. the fact that all three of his WR were drafted shows hope somebody had to be throwing teddy gin the ball. any body sit in sec 138 im looking for some fans to tailgate with!!!

The square is still there. I've lived there for six years and the place hasn't changed too much - still plenty of places to go drinking!

I'm not too sure who will be the QB for the Ravens in 2008. I would personally love to see Byron Leftwich in a Ravens uniform. He would be great throwing long bombs to Clayton and Williams whiles hitting Todd Heap on 3rd. However, it is very unlikely so I'll be realistic. I honestly think it will be Troy Smith. I think McNair will retire after this year and Smith will battle Boller for the job. Boller is definitely the more prototypical QB but his decision making and accuracy are so poor, I think Smith will take the job. Smith's only shortcoming is his height but if he's given the weapons which I think the Ravens already have, he should become a great QB. A classic example is Doug Flutie who won't make the HOF but he did play at a Pro Bowl level for a couple years despite being 5'10.

Pretty sure McNair will still be the starter in 2008 barring a serious injury. The only difference is Smith will be at the #2 spot instead of Boller. Once McNair retires, then I think the next QB will be Smith...possibly in 2009 or 2010.

Possibility YES but I hope we don't pick him up if they get Culpepper we don't need him I beleive Smith will step it up and turn MANY MANY heads and be our leader in `08 hoping they give him a chance and get rid of Boller....

::IN TROY I TRUST::
