I had this argument before about the Miami game. Their offensive game plan would have been radically different if they were playing to keep a lead rather than playing to score to take a lead so you can't say the Steelers would have won that game regardless if Miami had been given the ball.

As for the Bengal game vs the Steelers, you made a play on 4th down. The other 3 downs the Bengals were the Bungles. As for the Ravens vs the Bengals, I'm pretty sure you can peruse the threads and discover that we all agree that the Ravens imploded in that game. However, if we're going to play the "if" game, perhaps the two questionable calls that gave the Bengals 6 pts helped out. I never said the Ravens were too superior to lose to a team like the Bills. It was a response to the "only wishful thinking by Ravens' fans" comment about the possibility of the Steelers losing to them.
I understand what youre saying but my point is if had Miami scored maybe 1 or 2 TD's in that game early on when they got 2 Steelers turnovers near the 20 yard line the Roethlisberger fumble play wouldnt have been a deciding factor in that game like all the Dolphins fans made it out to be. Miami fans were clearly dumb and ignorant to the facts that Im pointing out about them scoring because they totally overlooked that they had to kick FG's instead of TD's and acted like that had nothing to do with them losing and it was all the Ben fumble in the end zone.

A Cincy upset would be sweet but I'm not putting hope in the Lions again. They had the Jets right they wanted them and LET THEM OFF THE HOOK!

Cincy will not be upsetting the Jets. As much as I'd love that too, it's not happening.

Lions beating NE is not probable, but Cincy beating the Jets may happen. The Jets secondary is suspect (ha, I laugh whenever I say or read that) and IF the Cincy trio (85, 81 and 9) can air it out, they may pull it off.

Cincy doesnt need to upset the Jets they already upset the Ravens earlier this year in a game I still believe at some point or another going into December is going to haunt the Ravens in a big way...

Maybe not for the division but it could cost you homefield advantage let's say if you finish tied with the Patriots or one game behind the Jets who you own the head to head tiebraker on so that's where youre wrong...

None as of right now the Steelers dont really have any bad losses on their schedule so far this season. All the teams they have lost too are some of the top teams in the league in the Ravens,Saints, and Patriots. You can afford to lose those games and still be in good shape which the Steelers still are. It's potential losses to teams like Buffalo this week,Cincy in a few weeks,Carolina who we still play and even at Cleveland who you cannot afford to lose too. The Ravens and Steelers both have 3 losses but the Steelers dont have any bad losses on their schedule the Ravens do seeing how Cincy has completely imploded...

Not sure how you know that but we'll see. The Broncos, Lions, Browns and Texans took the Jets to the wire and none of them are much better than the Bengals.

Steelers lost to the Ravens (at home), who are leading our division. I would say they have the upper hand as of today. Granted, I like our chances at redemption, but it's not a given.

How exactly does a "bad loss" affect you in the standings? Oh right, it doesn't. This isn't college football.

The Ravens losing to the Bengals is little different than the Steelers losing to the Ravens.

I understand what you are trying to say, but no matter how u slice it, getting dominated at home is a bad Loss not matter whose hands they come by. You guys got beat at home by a more points in that game then the Ravens in 3 combined games.

Losing to the Bengals hurt because we know we allowed on to get away. It was a early game where we still had some things go work out offensively. Not making any excuses, hey it happens. However there is noway you guys can even begin to justify getting manhandled at home, after a poor showing against the Saints, and a 4th quarter collapse vs the Bengals.

A loss is a loss, but 2 of your losses came at home against teams you'll have to get past to make it to the Super Bowl. You guys have had a opportunity to play in only two games against top AFC teams and lost them both. Loses to the Pats and the Ravens aren't good no matter how u look at it and another loss in Baltimore might mean the Steelers don't make the playoffs.

At what point would u consider these "Bad Losses"?

As long as the Steelers win the games they are suppose too against Buffalo,Cincinnati,Carolina, and Cleveland even if they lose to both the Ravens and the Jets they will still be 11-5 and that should definitely be good enough to gain one of the two wildcard spots in the AFC. The Steelers conference record would be 8-4 overall should that happen, and I dont forsee any teams out of the South or West having a better overall record or conference record then the Steelers. The Jags have a very tough schedule coming up and I dont think are very good. You can only win games on 60 yard FG's and hailmary passes for so long before it catches up to you which is how the Jags have won both of their games at home against both Indy and Houston. The Chiefs and Chargers one of them most likely will win the West and the other one will not win 10 or 11 games, and the Steelers already own head to head tiebrakers over Miami,Tennessee and Oakland who are all 5-5 and virtually 3 games back of the Steelers in the standings. So as you mentioned even if the Steelers dont beat the Ravens in Baltimore they should still be able to get to 11 wins which will be enough to get them into the playoffs.

Not really because the Steelers didnt lose to the Bengals who are a bad football team and the Ravens did. So if the Steelers end up beating the Ravens in Baltimore next Sunday the Ravens would then need the Steelers to either lose to the Bengals at Heinz Field which is highly unlikely, or the Browns in Cleveland which could happen but I wouldnt want to put money on it. The Steelers can beat the Ravens and still lose that game to the Jets and finsih 12-4 and the Ravens can win out the last 4 games and finish 12-4 as well and still not win the division because their division record would be 4-2 to the Steelers 5-1, and you can then look back at the Bengals loss at that point as the main reason why you didnt win the division. All hypothetical of course but it's a very vaild point I think...

I see what both of you are saying, but the ravens lost to the Bengals before their implosion. While the steelers almost lost to them during their implosion.

At the end of the day, none of this really means much. We need to beat the Ravens and they need to beat us. Whom ever loses the game in B-More will win the division. The loser of that game still has to bust their butts, but will likely be in the playoffs.
