Plus, Miami has already lost head to head tiebrakers to all 4 of the potential 2 wild card teams in the AFC losing games to the Patriots, Jets,Ravens, and Steelers all 4 of those teams are at least 2 or 3 games ahead of the Dolphins with the head to head tiebraker in hand. Doesnt help Miami either that their AFC Conference record is 3-4 10 games into the season. Ill never say never but at this point it looks like the Dolphins chances of earning a wildcard playoff spot now based on all those things I just mentioned above are sitting at slim to none...

Good. Removes the thugs Crowder and Dansby from the mix. Prior to that debacle really wouldn't have minded if Miami got a WC spot (as long as they didn't take it from us lol).

Yep so I guess that means it's down to these teams in the AFC Race:

Jets(vs Houston)
Ravens(@ Carolina)
Steelers(vs Oakland)
Jaguars(vs Browns)
Chargers(vs Denver)
Chiefs(vs Arizona)
Titans(vs Washington)
Indy(@ New England)

I'm good with your desired outcomes except well, can Indy vs Patriots be a tie? I really don't want either of them to win lol

Well we didn't get what we needed but hey we won and we still are atop the division.

Here are the results from the games today that had impact on the playoffs:

Ravens @ Panthers: Ravens 37 Panthers 13

Browns @ Jaguars: Browns 20 Jaguars 24

Cardinals @ Chiefs: Cardinals 13 Chiefs 31

Texans @ Jets: Texans 27 Jets 30

Raiders @ Steelers: Raiders 3 Steelers 35

Redskins @ Titans: Redskins 19 Titans 16

Colts @ Patriots: Colts 28 Patriots 31

So it seems everything will stay the same in the AFC with The Titans and Dolphins inching closer to not being in the playoff picture.

All that matters is winning, if you win games than you can forget playoff scenarios and everyone is doing everything they need to stay in the playoff hunt.

The Ravens are playing for the second seed (if we beat Pitt) and the 6th seed (if we lose to Pitt). We are unlikely to beat out the Jets and Pats for the 1st seed. However, only one of them can win the division. The highest wins the SD division can get is 11 and it doesn't look like the Colts will get 12 wins. So I foresee a 2 seed if we win the division. If it goes to wild card its very muddy.

Yeah, at this point I don't see us catching the Jets, just by looking at the schedules. We've got some tough games coming up and the Jets have a pancake Thanksgiving game.

Look all we need is 1 Jets loss, while we win and we are TIED with the same record once again and that would mean we JUMP the Jets due to head to head and for the Patriots, we need them to lose 2 games because 1 will tie us with the same record(they have to head to head tie) but they lose 2 means we jump ahead of them and get the # 1 seed. It's very much possible the Jets and Patriots can slip up and we claim the # 1 Seed. Especially the Jets, they can't keep getting lucky each week, that is 3 games they should have lost their luck is bound to run out. Considering the Jets still have Pittsburgh, their 2nd Game with New England, and the way Buffalo has been playing who knows Buffalo may surprise the Jets in Week 17.

The Patriots have a tough schedule, and as we saw they lost to the Browns so it's very possible they could lose to the Lions on Thursday and Indy is mounting a come back here, so let's hope the Colts pull off the comeback.

Well, we need both NE and the Jets to take one more loss. We need to beat Pitt. Then, with us and Jets as division leaders, we hold the tie-breaker, giving us #1 seed. I don't know why you think that is all that unlikely. We have 4 of our last 6 games at home. Take care of business and a little help and it's all good. I'll take 2nd seed though.

Yes, but a loss to NE means that NE will probably beat us for the #1 seed.

Both NE and the Jets would have to lose at least two games with NE losing to the Jets for us to have a realistic shot at making it, its just not probable.

But I don't care, because I mainly want to buy week and home field is incidental.

Loft Expectations. Forget #1 seeds. Let's just focus at the task at hand, trying to wrap up this division and making it to the playoffs no matter what seed.

I'd rather have the Patriots win and beat the Jets in the divisions. Because if we are battling for a wildcard spot, we'd rather have to compete with the teams we've beat. Battle for #1 or #2 seed is a moot point.

Both the Pats and Jets have a few tough games remaining. I Still don't trust that Jets team, no matter if its luck good fortune or skill, they'll have prove it against good teams. By my count they've played 3 playoff caliber teams(Bal, NE, GB) and they are 1-2 with both losses coming at home.

The Pats still got tough games and are by no means a lock to win the rest of their games with that average defense. I think the ravens are in great position to get a #1 seed. Just take care of business at home and don't have a letdown on the road. Knowing that the Jets Steelers and Patriots still have to battle each other, I think its safe to say the Ravens will pick up a game or two to close out the schedule.

I think it definitely matters if you want to talk about the probability of us getting the SB ring. The age on this team is going to be a huge factor in the playoffs and without the bye I see us falling short. I'm confident we'll make it happen.

Yea not only will getting that #1 seed mean a lot to the freshness of this team, but also think about the amount of success we've had following the bye week over the last couple seasons.

If the Ravens are given 2 weeks to gameplan I lime our chances against any team. Then can u imagine the kind of advantage the home crowd would have with the Ravens hosting their 1st ever AFC Championship game?

The #1 seed would be huge for the Ravens.

I'm not denying it's possible, I just don't think it'll happen. I don't believe our Super Bowl hopes lie with securing home-field advantage though. After all, we did beat the Jets in New York to start the season.

Oh I don't think our SB hopes lie with home-field advantage either. Just thought it would be nice for Ravens' fans to get at least one playoff game at home. #2 seed will do that.

I think they get ripped by NE, beat Chicago and Pitt is a toss up. They're winning too many games at the end and its partly due to skill and LUCK. Luck will only take you so far and theirs has to run out.
I think it will all come down to that game in 13 days in Baltimore in determining not only who will win the North but also be a top 2 seed in the AFC. Lets assume the Ravens and the Steelers win their next game against the Bucs and the Bills and both move to 8-3 and let's assume the Ravens beat the Steelers the following week and move to 9-3 and 3-1 in the division and drop the Steelers to 8-4 and 2-2 in the North. They will then own the head to head tiebraker within the division the rest of the way unless they drop a game to either the Browns or Bengals which I dont think they will do. In contrast, if the Steelers win the game in Baltimore and improve to 9-3 and 3-1 in the North and drop the Ravens to 8-4 and 2-2 in the North then it's going to be very very tough for the Ravens to catch the Steelers when you compare the two teams schedules the rest of the way. The Steelers have the Bengals,Jets, and Panthers at home and go to Cleveland their last 4 games, while the Ravens play games at Houston, home to New Orleans,at Cleveland and home to Cincy. Even if the Ravens win all those games and finish at 12-4 and the Steelers lets say lose to the Jets and beat the Bengals,Panthers, and Browns and finish 12-4 the Steelers would still win the tiebraker over the Ravens based on better division record 5-1 to the Ravens 4-2. The Ravens would really need the Steelers to lose one of those games to Cincy or the Browns to still have a chance to catch the Steelers in the North and win the division tiebraker.

So the Steelers could essentially lose that game to the Jets and win the other 3 against Cincy,Carolina, and the Browns which would put them at 12-4 and even if the Ravens win their last 4 games the rest of the season against Houston,New Orleans,Cleveland, and Cincinnati and finish 12-4 they would still lose the head to head tiebraker because the Steelers would win the North based on a better division record 5-1 to the Ravens 4-2. I think as things stand now looking at both teams last 4 games and comparing the schedules if the Ravens do not beat the Steelers in Baltimore in 2 weeks it's going to be very very tough for them to win the North. The Steelers have home games with the two worst teams in each conference in Cincy and Carolina, and a game at Cleveland which is not a gimmie but still a game I think they should win. While the Ravens have games at Houston who is still tough despite their record, the Saints who appear to be hitting their stride, and at Cleveland and Cincinnati at home.
