Troy Smith Named As Starter For 49ers

I'm well aware of that, in fact, that's almost word for word what I said about Crabtree in the Buy or Sell thread in the fantasy section. It doesn't change the fact that I do not see Crabtree as the reliable, safety net in the same vein as Mason (I'm not saying Crabtree has to be as good as him, just reliable enough). Mason put up 1,000 plus yard seasons even with the revolving door of lackluster quarterbacks in Baltimore prior to Flacco.

With the right system tho he can develope into a good reciever. I think Troy might be just what the 9ers needed to get back on top of their game. He makes it harder to narrow in on the run game plus once he gets his timing with his recievers he will prove to be better than Alex.

Yep. Arguably the softest team in the NFL of the past two seasons, just based on how they've folded against physical teams like the Ravens, Steelers, and Jets. Not only that, but they lost BIG to the Raiders, who haven't exactly been playing like the Raiders of old this season.

I've never been a fan of Smith, partially because of his undue bravado and arrogance but mostly because how much some of the fans would hype him [i](again, undue)[/i]. Honestly, in the 2008 pre-season, Kyle Boller was outperforming him - enough said.
