NBA 2010-2011 Season

For some reason, the name is escaping me at the moment, but one player said "You don't want to be the team to lose to them". Sadly for the Clippers, they're that team...

Damn Clippers! Tomorrow's Wizards/Cavs game could have been legendary.
Now it may have new meaning. First the Cavs break a historic major sports losing streak... then the Wizards break their 25 game road losing streak. It could be the feel good story of the year.

Agreed. I still can't believe Saunders has his job though. Scott I give a pass to considering this is the Cavs' first season post-LeBron, and he also hasn't had Varejao or Williams for most of the season.

I love my team but I don't see the Heat advancing to the finals let alone winning a championship if they can't solidify their low post play and/or get a complimentary scorer.

they dont need any more scoring, they need a big man, they r hurting big time at that position, ilgaga alone will not cut it

Anyone have opinions on why the Raps suck so much lol? What do they need to do to get better, cause boy they are bad this year.

I said "or" for a reason. Anyone can tell they need a stronger inside presence but if they can't secure that player, a secondary option would be someone who can score. Chalmers, Anthony, Z, Miller, Jones, House need to be either wide open to get a shot off. Among them, Miller is probably the best driving to the hoop but he rarely does it.

They appear to have a lot of complimentary pieces but no player that can truly take over a game. I don't see any strong defenders either.

Lets go Bulls!!! A heat loss, is fine by me!

Sadly, I am like only Bulls fan that thinks it will be Bulls vs. Thunder in Finals.

Never said they were. In their lone match-up this season though, the Heat trounced them.

more scoring isnt going to help them, the need defense via a big man, u just compound the problem by picking up a smaller shooter

I didn't say the Lakers were either. They've been getting beat by a whole bunch of good/bad teams. It's a loss of interest, but they'll be the ones to beat come playoffs.

very true, i dont think anyone would give the heat much of a chance against the lakers in a 7 game series based on one game in december :229031_rofl: especially given the lakers bigs v miamis

How isn't more scoring going to help? After LeBron, Wade and Bosh, the player averaging the next highest in points is Haslem, and he's played 13 games this season.

Again, their lack of size, physicality and defending inside is their biggest issue but teams aren't going to give up those kind of players for chump change. So if the Heat couldn't bolster their defense, adding more offense would help.

We'll see. Barring an injury to one of their top three players, I'd say San Antonio will be the team to beat come the post-season.

I would, when you consider how the game went. Gasol, Bynum and Odom were close to invisible that game.

They're great this year but they always fade in the playoffs. We really need to trade for Carmelo though, even though I doubt we will

True. The addition of Jefferson and emergence of Blair have helped but their top guys have a lot of mileage on their tires.

Shannon Brown and draft picks aside, do the Lakers have any trade bait?

I'd rather not trade Brown to be honest but his expiring contract might be the equalizer if we can some how get Lawson and Carmelo. But by all means, take Bynum or Artest if we can get Carmelo and someone else. Barnes could be on the table as well.

y would u want to give up bynum for melo, thats leaves us with one big man pretty much and he isnt much of a defender

and trading brown would b a huge mistake ur right, hes our PG of the future, after fish retires

That was two seasons ago. We're talking about the present. No major conclusions can be made from one regular season match-up but it's a much better indicator than a play-off game from multiple seasons before.

Melo is a possibility(albeit a slim one) but there's no way the Lakers pry Lawson away either. He's their future at PG.

I don't think we're trading Bynum for Melo straight up, Nene could get involved somehow

its the principal, didnt they just lose to memphis, u really give memphis a shot, please, in a seven game series mia has no chance against a team with a quality big man in the middle, fast break and lots of scoring gets u know where, if it did phoenix would have won like 5 titles haha

There is no principle. I simply brought up the last Lakers/Heat match-up and noted how it played out. To me, with the way Miami won that game, I don't see what's absurd in believing they could beat the Lakers in a 7-game series. Especially when the Lakers have lost to and been thoroughly beaten by inferior competition all season.

None of us know how a Heat/Lakers title match-up would actually play out. Go ahead and make definitive statements but you've got no facts to back it up.

i think the facts of teams not winning with a big man in the middle speak for themselves, <deleted> I wouldnt give the heat much of a chance against many of the top teams in the league, in a seven game series, sure any one team, can be beaten on any given night, but not over seven games, thats just the history of the game haha, heres statement for u, THE HEAT WILL NOT WIN THE NBA CHAMPIONSHIP, quote me

You're entitled to your opinions but don't make broad, generalized statements you can't support. I'm pretty sure some fans, even knowing the history of the game, would give the Heat a chance against top teams.

I've already acknowledged I don't feel the Heat's chances of advancing to the Finals let alone winning a title with their current line-up are high. However, I'm not going to go so far as to say they'd lose a 7-game series to a a team with a good big man, when they've faired relatively well against two really good teams with strong big men this season.
