NBA 2010-2011 Season

1,170 posts in this topic

The Miami Heat Super team came close to winning and bringing the title to South Beach. Like some said, it seemed Dallas was trying to give the game away and force a game 6 but all it matters is the final score and the Mavericks were able to overcome their mistakes and still find a way to win. Congrats!

Called it, Redemption! 4-2 Dallas victory.

Teams who won game 3 in a 1-1 tied series... 11 and ONE!

Congratulations Kidd and Dirk, it's long overdue! Better luck next year LeBron.

And c'mon, FF, everyone flops. LeBron, Wade and Bosh were doing it all season long, and James cried everytime he didn't act convincingly enough.

Anyone else hear Stern pronounce Nowitzki's name like a "w" and not a "v"?? Really?? Fail.

Dirk's last name is frequently mispronounced. It's really annoying for a player of his caliber.

Maybe we'll get to hear this:
"I've talked to Pat Riley, and I've decided to leave South Beach and take my talents to New York." - LeBron James

At least one Professional Sports Team in Dallas knows how to win a Championship.

Yeah, especially when it's the Commissioner! I mean, come on, he's the Finals MVP, get his name right!

Anyone else getting a 2007 patriots/giants vibe?

Not in the same magnitude/degree, but yeah, I can see that.

He'll wanna take his talents to Dallas now to play with Dirk.
Why? I mean since he wants Championships he could just go to the NFL and play for the Jets since Rex will guarantee Lebron a Championship.... oh wait.

Okay. I wasn't feeling it as much since the NBA was going on but now that it's over, I'm really feeling the pain of possibly no NFL season. No preseason hype, no nothing. I just felt a sharp pain to remind me. =/

Lol Adam Schefter said on Twitter congratulating Cleveland for ending their drought. Clear shot at LeBron if you ask me haha.

So what exactly did LeBron bring to south beach? Sure as hell wasn't talent.

JKidd should retire as a champion, it be a sweet moment to go out as a champion.

Congrats Cuban, Dirk and Mavs teams

Pretty sure he did bring talent.

Congratulations to the Mavs. As painful as this loss to as a Heat fan, it's good to see quality veterans like Dirk, Terry, Kidd, Haywood and Peja win a ring.

Just as long as Lebron shoves it up Dan Gilberts a** at some point....I'll be cool. Since I'm not a fan of one specific team and I just watch the NBA because I enjoy it (not a bandwagon fan, don't worry), I wanted the Heat to win this one and then go away for a while. But since that didn't happen this time, I still hope Lebron wins a championship soon. However, it's nice for the Mavs. They've been through it all, and it finally paid off for Dirk, Terry, the rest of the team and their fans (Demon)....Congrats Mavericks.

LeBron James, during the Heat's post-game press conference: "At the end of the day, all of the people that were rooting for me to fail, tomorrow they'll have to wake up and have the same life that [they had] before they woke up today. They got the same personal problems they had today and I'm going to continue to live the way I want to live and continue to do the things I want to do."

You just don't get it, do you, LeBron? All of the talent in the world, and it's wasted on immaturity. People were not rooting for you to fail out of jealousy; they were rooting for you to fail because you're a jerk and you made a spectacle out of a city's heartbreak.

LeBron James could eventually be the greatest to ever play the game. The only thing stopping him, is himself. Until he grows up and realizes what it takes to attain greatness, he will never match or surpass Michael Jordan's legacy.

LeBron can complain about the media making himself out to be a villain, but the fact is he's the one who's earning that reputation. Between his ego, "The Decision", his immature comments, and this latest comment, he's making himself out to be the bad guy. You don't deride fans like that, it doesn't matter if they "want to see you fail" or not. Grow up LeBron.

As amazing a finish as that would be to his career, I'd still like to see him stick around. With lowered minutes, he could still stick around for a year or two. However, Barea's really turned a corner this year in his career, and Roddy Beaubois is extremely promising himself. I'd feel comfortable with Barea at point, but he's still no Kidd, 38 or not.

LOL
Dwyane Wade "The term 'choke' is overused in sports".

Isn't that cute, D-Wade is embarrassed to man up and admit that his team choked to a team that everyone, everyone, called the biggest choke artists in the league. Yet that same team went on to win multip

Cavaliers owner Dan Gilbert comments on Mavs win

Corey Brewer: The Prophet. Turned down SA and Boston for the Mavs, and gets a ring for his troubles. Looks like a genius decision now, and he didn't even have a one hour special.

Dirk had a horrible game, except in the fourth. Dirk was great in the fourth, where have I heard that before? Terry held serve for him until he decided to show up. Usually it's the other way around. Total team win, even Ianimal and the Janitor pitched in. So happy after 12 long years of being a fan, Dirk and Kidd make sure that they don't go into the HOF ringless.

Also, seeing D-Will in the Mavs locker room after game 5 with a Texas Rangers hat unnecessarily got my hopes up. Just one more wish O' basketball gods.

Hey, it's the Custodian, get it right! ;)

Yeah, man, Dirk's shooting throughout the game was pretty terrible. It just goes to show you that there's more to the Mavs than "just Dirk". People have derided Dirk for so long as "choking in the clutch", well I'd say this series and playoffs in general can go ahead and shut all of his non-believers up. Dirk performed better in the clutch (the last five minutes of regulation or overtime) than anyone (and that includes D-Wade) else on both teams.

Who saw LeBron diss Kidd at the end when Kidd was trying to say something? They just showed it on ESPN, can't find an image on Google. He needs to work on his image or he'll become the villian of the NBA.

He already is, especially after his "My haters can go back to their average, boring lives while I do whatever I want" comment (paraphrasing of course). But hey, diss Kidd all you want, LeBron. Too bad you'll never be a player of his caliber. Oh and he does have something you don't right now... a ring.
