NBA 2010-2011 Season

1,170 posts in this topic

Tonight marks the beginning of the 2010-2011 NBA Season. Will LeBron James, D-Wade, Bosh and the Heat take down last year's Conference champions? How will the 2-time defending Champion Lakers do in their opening game? It all starts tonight!

Personally, I can't wait to see what the Heat can do with that trio of superstars. I'm also hyped for John Wall's Wizards debut! Should be a very interesting year in the NBA.

I am very psyched and ready for the NBA season to begin. I won't even go there on the Heat but regardless I am ready for another season of Cavs basketball.

I cant wait for my magic to take down the heat so everyone can stop hating on us. I love that we are in the basement and not thought about because it will be all that much better when we are smashing teams.

In all seriousness, how optimistic are you about this upcoming season for your Cavs?

I think they'll be close to .500; give or take 3-4 games above or below. The problem is unlike years past that record won't be good enough this year as the East is the new powerhouse conference. They still have a good team but it's just that.. good. It's not great or elite.

I can't lie though.. if the Cavs can't put anything together I would enjoy nothing more than the Lakers or Celtics or Magic or anyone else stomping the Heat.

Can't wait for the Heat/Celtics game tonight.

It should be amazing.

I've been a Heat fan since '04(mainly because of Wade) but if I say I'm a fan now, people assume I just hopped on the bandwagon.

Its a great and bad time to be a Heat fan. Loyalty is going to be very hard to prove, but it will be a very interesting team to watch throughout the year.

I'll admit, I hated LeBron's decision to go to Miami, but the season wouldn't be nearly as interesting if he didn't.

I'm a huge Kobe fan, so naturally I root for the Lakers.

True dat.

I'm looking forward to tonight's game but the first Heat/Lakers match-up is going to be insane.

It will be an interesting season, no doubt.
My money is on the C's for tonight's game. I liked their off-season transactions and in my opinion, they have the deepest bench in the league.

I hope the celtics curb stomp the heat
[/quote]

I highly doubt that happens. I could see the Celtics hurting the Heat in the post but the Cs have no one that can guard Wade let alone LeBron.

Go Mavs. This is our year... maybe. Well, probably not. I'll be happy with anything past the first round of the playoffs at this point.

Maybe on Wade but no one contained LeBron. Wade was noticeably rusty though.

The Heat looked completely out of sync for a good part of the game. Although they did show there potential near the end.

Once Wade gets in game shape after missing the preseason the Heat should be alright. James is going to play like a Top 5 guy, Bosh needs more of an interior presence. Heat need to be more physical down in the post and can't rely simply on jump shots. They'll play as expected once they get a chance to mix together.

The new era of the Wizards (eventually Bullets) starts on Thursday!! John Wall is the future and much excitement is to come as he grows up and the team is built around him. Can't wait till Tuesday since I'm going to go to the home opener. Should be great.

Wade looked like he only had 3 minutes of game action since the end of last season, and the Heat's overall performance wasn't that surprising. Once Wade, Bosh, and LeBron get some more playing time together, they'll be a force.

What is going to hurt the Heat is their lack of a physical presence in down low. There are going to be night when the shots aren't falling(like tonight) and they'll need to get "easy" basket but Bosh, Haslem, Z and Anthony are too small and not physical enough of a front-court. He's older but they need to get Maglorie in there.

What pisses me off is I counted TWO occasions in the third quarter where LeBron was blatantly charging... yet the defender gets called for a blocking foul (Paul Pierce's incident comes to mind). Horrible, horrible calls.

Star treatment. LeBron got it for the past seven years in Cleveland and he'll get it in Miami as well going forward.

I can't imagine how ESPN will react if Miami were to lose tonight.

Lucky for them, they get the sixers.
