I don't want a Mike Wallace, I want a complete player like Roddy White, Hakeem Nicks or Mike Williams in TB(I didn't mention Johnson or Fitzgerald because those guys are rare talents). Wallace is a burner but unless he's going deep, he's not that effective.

I think Roddy White is slowly aligning himself with the rare talents like Johnson and Fitzgerald.

Johnson>Fitzgerald>Marshall>White IMO. Everyone else is a step down.

Mike Williams wasn't a 1st round pick--he was drafted in the 4th round.

Another guy I was really high on if you remember my mock drafts from last year.

I was ticked when we fell a couple picks short again.

As I predicted he was going to make an instant impact.

I want Justin Blackmon from Oklahoma State who is making Dez Bryant seem like an afterthought. Joe would loooove to have this kind of threat.

Look at these statistics in only 7 games:

62 Receptions, 1112 Yards, 14 TDs, 17.9 yards/Catch, 158.9 Yards/Game

I'd take White over Marshall right now but I agree, he's creeping up on Johnson and Fitzgerald.

Calvin is the most gifted WR in the league but he's a bit injury prone and White has played better football than him this year.

WR's bust out of this league at a higher rate than just about any other position. Every team has their share of WR busts. The position is so hard to judge.

You can start throwing out examples of busts if you want but you're not really helping anyone.

If we follow your logic I guess we'll either never draft another WR period or only draft guys with a 40 time slower than 4.50

Joe has certainly played some good football in recent weeks and the stats back that up.

You still does make the occasional throw that leaves you scratching your head though.

So it's confirmed now that he's human. Somebody contact his parents and get another opinion on whether this thing called Flacco is a person or a machine.

I never said all QBs don't make mistakes or make questionable throws.

Bullrush, you sound like Chris Collinsworth.

And I would like a guy that is tall with great body control more than anything. Someone for jump ball situations and good catches across the middle. It is much easier to find people who you can throw to on the outside.

And Yamon might have not been a good WR, well he wasn't at all, but he was a good returner. And Cleveland signed him after Cribbs went down.

He was a good returner his rookie year but started running scared after one bad game the next season. And Cleveland signed but they cut him after one game.

Flacco has been pretty damn good the last weeks. Although he still misses some fairly easy plays time to time. But that will get better with time.

Every time I see Bryant I die a little inside. Especially when hes beasting in returns...
Hahaha, I know right? My buddy is a 'Boys fan, and whenever Bryant does something great, I shoot him a text telling him how much I hate Jerry Jones and crew for picking him up.

I figured they wouldn't have kept him long. But I thought I remembered him doing pretty well his second season?
Nope, bad memory. Just looked at his numbers from that season and not impressive lol.

I know Schifter said we wanted Bryant and the two college draft gurussaid we wanted Bryant, but frankly we ddn't need Bryant and based on what Isaw of his play in last nights loss we are well rid of him. I don't know why Flacco is being blasted like he is, except again, I think the media fed the fans a line and they bought it.
Joe had one bad game and at that, had we made the two opportunities we had for picks we'd have won.
Manning throws 5 picks! and Favre throws 4; one wins and one loses. So how is Flacco not elite?

Of course he'll make a couple of head-scratching throws -- that's what young QBs do. No young QB is absolved of those young mistakes, no matter how much early success they've had.

That said, I still don't understand the QB-bashing. I'll chalk it up to impatience rather than holding him to a higher standard. I mean, there's high standards, and then there's asking a guy to be Peyton Manning when it's only Year 3. Besides, not too many guys will be Manning or Brady or Brees. I'll take Joe Flacco simply being Joe Flacco if it means he has a good career and wins some games. He doesn't have to be one of the great ones (though he certainly could), he just has to keep us happy from season-to-season -- not necessarily from week-to-week.
The best QB's in the NFL make head-scratching throws once in a while. Joe has played great from week three till now. His play, along with Boldin, Mason and Heap is the reason we won our last game. It's the reason we beat the Steelers and Broncos, too.. If Flacco can put up the numbers he has the last three weeks, and performs as well as he has under pressure - that should be good enough. The best thing is that he's obviously been improving week to week, and he won't be satisfied with the status quo. It's time for people to accept that this kid out of Delaware really has what it takes, and he's taking it as far as it goes.

I found another mildy interesting stat:
Joe Flacco has thrown on third-and-long 36 times this year, more than any other QB – and he’s picked up first downs on 14 of them, good for 8th in the league (38.9 percent). Apparently the days of protecting Flacco are over. Also, the days of not allowing 34 points to Buffalo could be over.
I'm surprised he is leading the league with that. I have noticed them not unnecessarily running or throwing check downs nearly as much on third and long. But I also noticed we throw unnecessarily on third and short maybe more than anyone that is not Manning lol

His play in last night? He was one of the few bright spots for Dallas.

We definitely could use a young dynamic WR like Bryant. If we drafted him, we would have never gone for T.J., and I think Bryant is a better WR at this point.

Another thing that may help Flacco's progression is possibly less Cover 2 defenses. I read something on nfl.com saying that cover 2 is responsible for many of these hits because the way the defenders play off the ball. No cover 2 is always good for Joe lol
