Heap Collapse

20 posts in this topic

I'm still wondering why they sent him out there again after he collapsed and what exactly happened to him. It looked like something is seriously wrong with him/his neck. Any comments yet from Harbaugh or Heap?

It's obviuosly his call as well as the trainers and coaches wether he stayed on the side line or went back in. I was surprised and not surprised the week before when he came back in from the worst hit of the 3 he took to the helmet up in NE. Heap is a monster and will be out there playing as much as he can or is able to, and I think he has proved that year in and year out, plus if any one couldn't see it from these past two weeks then you are blind. We are lucky to have a TE like Heap and I am proud that I can say I got to watch his career here in Baltimore, because (IMO) he will go down as one of the best to play his position and one of the most physical!

I haven't heard anything yet.

But if you watch that TD catch by Heap he takes a pretty nasty shot to the back. The spot that has been bothering him. I wonder if that set something off later in the game when he collapsed.

I think, as he was blocking on the play, his neck was aggravated. You can see the defenders hand on his neck area, he probably had a tremendous amount of pressure there and the pain was probably pretty severe. Heap showed what a true warrior he is by battling back..

He's probably just sore from those cheap shots Merriweather put on him. He has two weeks to get better, heal up, Todd.

*I used 'probably' a lot in that post haha.

Yeah I was getting Pavelec flashbacks from the Capitals/Thrashers game in the beginning of the season. I didn't know what the heck happened to him. Dehydration?

That is exactly what I thought of when Heap went down.

Pavelec was diagnosed with a fainting spell: http://www.usatoday.com/sports/hockey/nhl/thrashers/2010-10-11-pavelec-released-from-hospital_N.htm

I remember that day. I was all excited for some Caps hockey but then had to wait like 30 additional minutes to get my game on. Glad that Pavelec was okay, but that was very strange.

Yeah I thought he died on the ice. I have a theory that he had explosive diarrhea and was too embarrassed to skate off and risk poo spillage so he played possum.

Dr. Alexir, I got some explosive diarrhea. What do you prescribe? ...I promise I will skate clothed.

I can't say this is what happened but I had a neck injury a few years back. Weeks later though it was still sore it was alright. I moved, I guess just the wrong way, and went down. The doctor said that the movement had blocked oxygen from getting to my brain for just a minute. Possible I guess. Can't believe he came back and played though. And played so well!

Get better Heap. Rest up during the bye.

I hope we see NE in the playoffs.I wouldn't be mad if Boldin got ejected for a blatant helmet to helmet on Merriweather. We can be like the Steelers fans and chip in on any fines.

I just hope that Todd will be all right when our next game comes up. Too much for my liking, there have been quite a few situations that make me question pro football's validity in this day and age.

Heap said during the post-game it was excruciating pain and he was trying to figure out what was going on from the 'stinger'.

So mad at that safety but i saw him light someone up on the Pats last game, when he finally led with his shoulder. At least he's learning, as are many other players around the league.
