Fabian Washington Will Show Up Big Against The Dolphins

43 posts in this topic

Thank you Noy im not saying Washington is the best but their is alot of favortism on this board. Certain guys can do no wrong while others are wrong for the slightest problem. If you call out their guy then your wrong but they can bash their guy all day.

We didn't have any problems with Marshall last year. Then again we probably had Foxy covering him. Fabian can definitely cover Marshall.... but I'm not so sure he can tackle him. Carr should have no problem with Bess.

The main problem is our pass rush. Suggs and Ngata can get pressure but we need someone to complement them. C'mon Kruger and Johnson step your game up!!!

I wanna see Webb cover Marshall and Carr on Bess.

This is what I would imagine happening

Way to discount Washington right away guys. I'm not saying he'll play every game like this, but the guy knows how to bounce back. He leads our team in pass deflections from only 2 of his games (vs Cin and Den). Now he's got two weeks to prepare and correct himself.

Me personally am not discounting him by any means. Him on Marshall is a poor matchup even if Washington didnt play how he did against Buffalo. You need a guy who can tackle on Marshall and Washington has never been a solid form tackler. Carr is arguably playing as our best cover corner right now so hes going to start anyway. Webb is our best tackling corner so he match's up better than Washington would.

I miss Foxworth :( . He became a complete corner at the end of last year. He could cover anyone...

While he was no where near a shutdown, when given help over the top he proved to be quite able to limit receivers in what they can normally do. Moss, Wayne in the playoffs particularly come to mind.

Overall our defense did a great job last year when Marshall was with the Broncos. I expect them to come out with the same gameplan to allow whoever our starting CB is to have success against Marshall. It's probably going to be Wilson/Webb

I just hope this board doesn't blow up into Marshall threads again. My GOD, Brandon Marshall threads were like Gremlins. Even if he has a good day..I just hope, hope, hope this board doesn't degenerate into 'defense sucks/Marshall is God/we should've gotten him threads.

I agree Fabian will come back strong.
Redding has been a huge presence on Defence - I mean, did you miss the pass attempt
that bounced off his helmet?
I still can't understand the neg comments abt our pressure on the QB, it's there.

You know, Fabian seems like a great guy but let's be real, he just does not play consistently. He had one great game this season. He has been getting burned here and there pretty much the entire season but in smaller doses than Buffalo managed. From the presser I am guessing if there is an option, the Ravens are going to use it after the bye meaning Washington might see little or no playing time against Miami.

He's not horrible but he's only average and at times below average.

I've never been a believer in Fabian. But Matty does a good job at rotating our different CBs in and out of the game, so Fabian won't be in the whole game, but he will get his chance to bounce back and prove people like me wrong.

I just don't think he's outplayed Wilson, Carr or Webb. But like I said, now's the time to turn it up.
