Demetrius Williams, who is entering his second season with the Ravens, figures to play a much bigger role this season.
BALTIMORE (Map, News) - Ravens receiver Demetrius Williams spent much the last month blowing by his team’s secondary at its organized team activities. He sold stutter-steps with ease and went on deep, sideline-hugging routes for touchdown after touchdown.
It was if he was without challenge.
All of this came from a player taken in the fourth round of the 2006 NFL Draft out of the University of Oregon. While he is just entering his second year, there are indications that he might have been a steal.
“He made a play today looking over his inside shoulder, flipped to his outside shoulder and kept right in stride and made it look easy,” said offensive coordinator Rick Neuheisel on Wednesday. “As an old quarterback, those are the kind of guys you love because bad balls are all over the place, and they keep catching them. So, I’m very pleased with Demetrius.”

I say don't give him the starting position just yet, let Derrick Mason and Mark Clayton get the job done for a while and put DW in when he gets a little older. and more experienced.
I guess we cant really see his skill and determine it quite yet until Practice starts and when the pre-season starts. But I do have high hopes for him.. in the future.
We will see.

The first was the play he made in the Tenn. game to set up a score. The game was on the line and McNair went to DWill on what looked to be a coner route. Result: big play, put his team in great positon to score, and also stopped the clock.
Next was the play he made vs CLE. The Browns came with everything they had that game and it was up to the offense to put the game away and who rans the prefect route to get behind both the safety and CB? DWill. Not only did he make the big play he out ran the defenders for the score. Result: Huge play that pretty much sealed the game for the Ravens. Almost sends 70,000 people over the edge. Big play when his team needed it the most. Impressive for a 4th round rookie.
Then it was the out and up he ran @ Pitt. The Steelers got a up close and personal look at a lot of the future stars from balt, such as Chester, Terry, Brown, Clayton, Ngata, Landry and of course DWill. Williams sold the route perfectly leading Troy to come down hard on the out before turning it up the sideline to catch a well placed pass in stride. Result: Showed the Steelers that the Ravens are much more then just a dominate defense.
Now of course Williams made many more plays but these were just 3 that sticks out in my mind right now. All of these plays came in the second half of the season. His stats during the last 8 games were 15 catches 294 yards 2 TDs. Hell 2 seasons ago Mark Clayton begin to come on during the last 8 games of the season with 32 catches 386 yards 2 TDs. If DWill can improve on his production like clayton did then we will have to outstanding wideouts.

Williams doesn't have the strength of TO, he's more in a mole of jerry rice, or chad johnson, or maybe even torry holt. Now i'm not saying he is as good as any of these guys, but if he continues to work hard he can be just as good if not better. Well it will take a lot of work to be as good as Jerry Rice but his body type is similar to the G.O.A.T

D-Will = 6'2 197 lb
Chad = 6'1 192 lb
TJ = 6'1 199 lb
Holt = 6'0 190 lb
Hopefully he has the same kind of success

I could definately see him have a career like TJ's early on. If i'm not mistaking Tj's first 2 season were in the slot before getting hurt in his 3rd, then he took over the #2 spot. I can see DWill have about 35+ catches for 500+ and 2-4 TD's this season. Then breaking out next season as one of the starting WRs.

I beleive his career will go far he has mucho mucho talent that he will show more and more of each year and be a top receiver in the NFL. People will start to see we do have an offence and a great one at that! soon enough to go along with are ruthless and pure perfect defence there will be no stopping us, infact I'm not worried bout the pat's at all this year if our D plays like we should thats all we need to defeat them, put preasure on Brady and get the turnovers and turn them into points
