If The Ravens Weren't Around...

33 posts in this topic

Thank god they are but here's a fun hypothetical.. if the Ravens weren't around which NFL team (if any) would you root for and why?

I'd probably go for a team that is just mediocre just because I wouldn't want to be labelled a bandwaggoner... perhaps Jacksonville (least popular/smallest market) or Seattle because I just really like the city and the people there.

Haha that's sort of why I'm a Raven fan to begin with.
I like underrated with a small fanbase yet competitive. Of course now they're not so mediocre anymore...

Even though I'm in NY I see more Steelers (and now Jets) stuff than any other team. So I think I'd go with the Giants. After all, don't we all owe our gratitude for beating the Pats in SB XLII?

Rams, my mom's family is from St. Louis. So they're my NFC team, Ravens v Rams superbowl somewhere along the line would be perfect (as long as ravens win of course)

That wasn't much of a hypothetical question 14 years ago.

But if they weren't, I'd guess I'd be subject to my surroundings and go with the Redskins.

I'd have to root for Daaaaaa Bears. My whole family are Chicago fans. I was born in Illinois so that's probably who I would have rooted for. Luckily we moved to Baltimore and that's where I went to my first game. Ever since I've been a fan.

I would be a fan of whatever team played for Los Angeles since that's where I grew up (Rams maybe).

Or maybe the Chargers.

Hm.. well considering the Ravens are the only team I know, and considering one of the first times I watched NFL was Super Bowl 35 I would say it would be tough. I would probably be a Giants fan just because NJ was close by.

Grew up on them, in a Giants household.

I wasn't really a fan of any team when Baltimore did not have one for all those years. I had those teams that I just wanted to lose (Cowboys, Redskins, Steelers) and some that I kind of liked (Seattle, Giants). So hmmm if the Ravens weren't around I guess I'd still be doing that sort of thing.

I would most likely go for the Eagles, partly due to their cheer squad from the eighties to the mid-nineties, but also due to a sitcom from the late seventies which was set in Philadelphia.

Ah, such is the stuff of choice.

I was totally a Bills fan before the Ravens came to town (serious crushes on Jim Kelly and Andre Reed).

If the Ravens weren't around now, I'd have to go with the Packers because of #30

Most likely be a Vikings fan since they are the closest team and play a similar style to the Ravens.

If it weren't for the Ravens, I'd probably still be stuck listening to my headphones while the rest of my family cheered on the Colts.

Thank Heaven for football... and thank God for the Ravens!

If the Ravens weren't around, I'd probably still be a Tennessee fan, since Baltimore never would have been around to unify my two favorite players (Ray and McNair). Or... probably Houston. I have a soft spot for them, a talented team that's always on the cusp of something great... just to get outweighed by the Indianapolis Manning.

49'ers

Amazing history, I like to go for a sleeping giant
[/quote]

With the way San Fran's been playing, I'd be more inclined to call them a "hibernating giant".

Buffalo...I went to school there and adopted them after the Colts left. Besides, I've always had a soft spot for the underdog.

Probs the Packers cause they were always my number two growing up cause of Favre. Now they are irrelevant to me because of my total and complete love for my Ravens.
